I had never heard that before and this really shook me. I am so glad you covered this and it and strengthened my faith even more. Thank you once again !

    I've been sent this video by a person I was having a discussion with, and let me tell you, it is, by far, the best argument for Christianity I've heard so far. The allegories and the detective angle are unique and innately understandable, and the speaker's charisma and rhetorics (that word gets a bad rap, but I mean it in a good way) are just radiating off of him.
    The video's still fresh in my head and I still have ideas to digest here with this newfound view on Jesus (especially since I still haven't made the devil's advocate case yet, which I do for evrything important when changing my mind).
    My biggest gripe is still with an omniscient omnipotent and benevolent God, and all of the issues that brings up (the problem of evil, free will, contradictions where an omniscient being regrets doing something and changing its mind, etc.).
    Either way, fantastic video! I wish it was more popular.
    (Also, if anyone can help me with those issues with God, like the kind opinion opponent I was arguing with did with this, I'd be more than grateful, cause I haven't been able to find compelling arguments on my own).

      I could type various answers but this came to mind. While reading the old testament it floored me how many times God actually repeated himself, continuously gave warnings, and people STILL were surprised when another country conquered them or God left their presence. As a parent, repeating yourself gets old fast so I'd say God was hundreds of years more patient than I would ever be 😂😂 Darned if I don't want to send my little darlings off somewhere away from my presence daily. Good thing it's not forever.

      The athiests objection on philosophical grounds such as "The Problem of Evil" and so on are irrelevant.
      If Christ as presented by the evidence alone by many scholars such as Jim Wallace is accurate, our human OPINIONS on right and wrong are irrelevant.
      Getting with the program is the only logical recourse.

    • @sarahkim2380

      This is an older comment, but I came across it and wanted to answer the question about God regretting! I’m assuming you were discussing Genesis 6:6 when it says God regretted making man. Although the sense we use the word regret in today is in making a mistake, the word used in the Hebrew (going back to the original language) has the root of the word nacham, which ties closely to emotion. That means that the word “regret” would’ve been used more in the sense that God was pained by what mankind did, not that he thought it was a mistake to create mankind!! Hope that helped to answer your question :)

      It's not about New Testament being reliable. It's about if all verses of NT makes sense to be accepted as truth.
      Jesus dying on cross take your sins away is false as Christians are still doing sins on a regular basis.

    • @kallioperobling3359
      @kallioperobling3359 2 года назад +4

      @@parabinda your logic is false. Your sins are not taken away as if you never again can sin. The wages of sin, the sin tax if you will, has been paid. You are a sinful creature that cannot face God through your filth. Jesus, being perfect, paid the sin tax by dying in your place. His death takes away your sin. Now your filth is washed away with his blood and your eternal soul can choose to live in God's light instead of the vile depths of the darkness of Godlessness.

      @@parabindajust because you put on the Jersey, doesnt mean you made the team. Most that claim to be Christian, are anything but. The scriptures are very clear.
      "He became the source of eternal life for all that OBEY him" (Hebrews 5:9)By this we can be sure that we have come to know Him: if we keep His commandments. IF ANYONE SAYS, “I KNOW HIM,” BUT DOES NOT KEEP HIS COMMANDMENTS, HE IS A LIAR, AND THE TRUTH IS NOT IN HIM. But if anyone keeps His word, the love of God has been truly perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him: WHOEVER CLAIMS TO ABIDE IN HIM MUST WALK AS JESUS WALKED (1John 2:3-6) EVERYONE WHO HAS THIS HOPE IN HIM PURIFIES HIMSELF, just as Christ is pure. EVERYONE WHO PRACTICES SIN PRACTICES LAWLESSNESS AS WELL. Indeed, sin is lawlessness. But you know that Christ appeared to take away sins, and in Him there is no sin. NO ONE WHO REMAINS IN HIM KEEPS ON SINNING. NO ONE WHO CONTINUES TO SIN HAS SEEN HIM OR KNOWN HIM. Little children,LET NO ONE DECEIVE YOU: THE ONE WHO PRACTICES RIGHTEOUSNESS IS RIGHTEOUS, JUST AS CHRIST IS RIGHTEOUS. THE ONE WHO PRACTICES SIN IS OF THE DEVIL, because the devil has been sinning from the very start. This is why the Son of God was revealed, to destroy the works of the devil.ANYONE BORN OF GOD REFUSES TO PRACTICE SIN, because God’s seed abides in him; he cannot go on sinning, because he has been born of God. BY THIS THE CHILDREN OF GOD ARE DISTINGUISHED FROM THE CHILDREN OF THE DEVIL: ANYONE WHO DOES NOT PRACTICE RIGHTEOUSNESS IS NOT OF GOD, NOR IS ANYONE WHO DOES NOT LOVE HIS BROTHER.This is the message you have heard from the beginning: We should love one another. (1 John 3:3-10)

      @fridge3489 crystal clear? Most CCTV footage is blurry or glitchy looking. In this day and age, with deep fakes and voice replication, you must TEST this video footage witness as well. Where did the footage come from? Who acquired it? Who provided it? Any possible motives to discredit the accused? So on.
      These days a video doesn't cut it alone. That's why you need corroborated data.

    One reason the church does not teach hard hitting facts that can make a true believer is because most people in the church sitting there listening are to lazy, or do not have the IQ to track along with these facts in a short time and cannot handle it. It is pathetic but the churchs I see in alberta canada through the decades try to reach the most people possible. Not teach the truth relentlessly. So most of the followera are nominal who can be shaken away simply and do not know thier own belief. Most Christians I have met in my life here have a general belief, not real faith rooted in turth and facts.

    • @friedrichrubinstein
      @friedrichrubinstein 3 года назад

      I dare to say that a common reason for this is that many Christians don't commit to believing the Bible. When you get influenced by "scientists", "scholars" and all kinds of Bible-critics into not taking the Bible seriously anymore then you have no fundation for your faith. If the Bible is not trustworthy then _what is?_ You stagger between opinions instead of truths and got nothing to rely on.
