When my brothers, cousins and I were kids (preteen) we would do family camping trips. We would always make a point of getting in whatever water was available. We once all jumped into a rushing creek that flowed out from under spider glacier in the cascades. We jumped in literally a few feet from the glacier. It was a wild split second for sure. Today is my wife’s birthday and ironically we are at a hot spring in the high desert soaking in hot a** water while the air temperature is in the low twenties and snowing.

Glad to see Cori and the kids! I too would have to pass on the cold. After a quadruple bypass cold gets me as soon as temp gets below 60°. Oh and cant do hot tub either. Getting old sucks!
Fifty degree water wouldn’t be bad at all. Back in the early 80’s I went through some thin ice on my snowmobile in mid January in Minnesota. I’m not positive on the water temp but guessing it was in the ballpark of 35 degrees give or take a degree. Now that was damn cold. It was only about 3’ or so deep so I was able to get myself out and walk to a nearby ice fishing house that a couple guys were fishing in. Funny video though. Never a good thing when the wife and kid shows you up. 🤣🤣

I did the Polar Bear Dip through the ice at the Winterfest here in Barrie. The water was only a few degrees above freezing. I even made it on the news.
They have firefighters in the water in floatation suits for a reason. I can’t imagine staying in as long as you did with 50* water.

I've done the hot/cold plunge before. It feels like your heart stops during the first plunge, but gets easier after that and you feel amazing after.
Anyone who thinks 50F isn't cold, is wrong. I did my SCUBA checkout dive in a spring where the surface temp was 55F, and it was *freezing*. Definitely a sweet setup on the relatively cheap though.

We just came from Thailand. There is place called "Jomtien Sauna", really nice place. There you can go to similar pool that is filled with ice cubes. One English man stayed in it for four minutes and after that 20min in sauna. But he didn't come to the top decks like we Finns that are used to the saunas heat.
I did that same several times. (I'm used to it)

Great job!! But you have to add a circulating pump or the water next to your skin will warm up, and you’ll create a bit of a thermocline. When the water is constantly circulating it feels just as cold as when you got in… you don’t get used to it.

Just watched Alex and Cayleb Peck of @PeckBrothers do a plunge this morning. You all are braver than I would be, that's for sure. I can't even take rinsing my hair in cold water!!! Good job guys and so good to see family involved. Little one is adorable.

I used to watch “Justin Rhodes” channel and they did a similar thing but with ice cubes to chill the water. It was a few years ago if you’re interested in watching. They also did it in the winter in a pool of water in a creek that was spring fed. 😉😊. They are crazy too imo! 🤦🏼♀️

That was great to watch but it's not easy to do. Our sea temperature ( Scotland ) is around 11c in the summer ad we try to swim every day if we can...I have some friends who do it year round and they just aren't normal 🤔
I have a buddy who's a Finn. He does the cold water baths regularly. The rest of us all think he's insane, despite the benefits he assures us such baths bring.

Interesting that y'all have decided to follow a trend, lol! Back when we had access to a sauna, we used to go rolling thru the snow drifts, cause the lake was too many steps, lol. Felt great, but we did jump back in the sauna, harhar... & Back in HS & college we made up the April Fools Club! Every year we went for a dip in Lake Michigan on the 1st, tho we did get a big bonfire lit prior to the swim, or walk in the icebergs, depending on the year, lol! Congrats on your resolve, are you planning on making it a weekly event? Since daily may be too often, lol... Thanx !

I'm still on the fence on this channel. I wasn't a big fan of of them when they started at Matt's but they grew on me because they made me laugh my ass off many times. It was spontaneous but now it's different for me because they are trying to be funny. And funny to me is no mention of MORR or Matt whatsoever. We had an air purifier with ozone and I got ozone poisoning from it. By turning it up to high for the size of room it was in. It messed with my lungs for a while.
I could do the cold water ok I fell through the ice trapping a few years. I had to walk out about a half mile then I stripped down a put my leg in my hoodie sleeves. I wish I felt good enough for trapping really enjoyed it.
