In addition to the ramps, you should add a wheel lift! One mini-Jeep in the bed and one towed behind. Because you guys tend to break more than one at a time...

You guys might like "Mighty Car Mods" they did a series on one of these fitting it out for "off road" turbo, engine swap the works, greatest 4WD channel on youtube lol.
Love it! Though for the rear dump bed I would make the tilt bed a flat tilt bed with retractable ramps, so one could potentially fit a larger vehicle on it (like a small side by side). Just in case you need to recover such in the future and the vehicle is a little wider than the bed. Also be sure to add strap down points, so you could use it as a mini bike carrier as well . Cus who doesn’t love mini bikes on a mini truck eh?

I have the 95 version of the HiJet (minus the dump bed). They are a lot of fun. I use it to plow snow and haul firewood.... it is a little workhorse! I enjoyed watching this episdode!

Portal axles, 4-link, a little triming and 25"-30" tires. Definitely bumpers. Diahatsu is made by Toyota. A solid axle from a Samurai should fit but a 1st gen Toyota truck axle should too.
