I love how you had a meeting about not getting your beard caught in the rope right before you got your beard caught in the rope…. Poor Trevor. I’m glad you are ok! Should have kept the half beard though, might have to go back to Turkey!
Trevor was amazing in handling himself in a high pressure scary situation. Right after getting caught up he identified exactly who was needed and what actions were needed while in pain. He handled the long endurance of implementing his solution and maintained. When he got on the ground he knew he was shaken and centered himself. Tucker, get his man card and get it gold plated. Thanks for sharing such a great example of positive masculinity and courage.
You did an awesome job of staying calm! I also have 18years of high angle search and rescue experience and can say it is very fortunate that you had him there to help it all!
Sorry about your beard. I could feel that one. Mad respect for minimizing the footage of Hollie's freak out. Even more respect for Hollie for sharing it on her channel.😉 👍
The beard will always grow back. Just glad you weren't hurt really bad. Beautiful country, wonderful people and nice to see your wife there with you. Nice seeing Holly there also. Wonderful hike!!😊
As a fellow beard, Watching a man lose part of his beard is just as painful as seeing another guy get kicked in the balls. We have all felt the disturbance in the beard force, and pray that your new beard grow fuller, darker, and healthier!
Sorry about the beard, Trevor. I know it will grow back. Just happy to know thats all you had to sacrifice. Im also proud of Hollie for rappelling that whole trail! Glad to see Naomi out there too. It makes me want even more to come back and spend time in Utah!
Been There Done That! Both for Holly's newbie point of view, and for Trevor's getting stuck on rappel experience. So ... the stories ... Holly: Seriously, 40 years ago on a Mountain Rescue Team as a trainee went thru the same first rappel jitters. Was so so nervous, "afraid of heights", but we did it on a chicken head rock slope that the experienced folks could just about walk up, and they added a separate belay line. Was surprised to NOT see a belay line for you as a newbie, but it all worked out okay. Anyway, to this day, experienced but old and retired, the unprotected exposure to empty space is nasty for me but the moment I am beyond the edge and in in control, stable on the rope and gear, that goes away. Hundreds of SAR missions in my past, it never changed for me and I've rappelled off the South Rim of the Grand Canyon to fetch trash for the NPS. To this day it is unchanged, it is the difference between having a "Fear of Heights" and a "Fear of Exposure". Trevor: Early in my SAR career (I call it my "Rescue Dude Daze") We were practicing rappels on a overhang. The rules were no long hair not contained and paying attention to secure anything that could get into the rope and the Figure 8 w/ Ears (a "Rescue 8" some call those). Just as my feet were off the rock, a good 100 feet up in free overhang, some loose thread on a shirt sleeve got into the Figure 8. Happened real fast, just all of a sudden my arm is pulled into the Figure 8 by a wrap of the shirt sleeve. The rescue, and yeah we turned it into a training, used Single Rope Technique. Talk to your SAR buddies about this, it involves using ascenders to climb the rope and a sling to the stuck person's harness to take their weight off the fouled Figure 8. The way it is done is a rescuer sets up a second rappel line and raps down to the stuck party. Stops there, uses his (or her) ascending gear to rig for climbing back up. Then with a sling to the trapped person, the rescuer uses leg muscles to life the trapped person up until rope tension is removed. This is hard work, I've done it myself for others. What's important is no knives are ever taken out near the rope! This was a very serious rule in my training, avoid an open blade near a rope under tension unless an emergency you have no way out of forces you to take that blade out. Anyway, my rescue took a bit over an hour, as we ere short on additional ropes and gear, and during that time I went thru all sorts of emotions waiting on a team member to drive home, get gear, come back and setup the rescue. It was after this experience, still a newbie, that I redid my climbing harness for always being able to switch from rappel to Single Rope Technique and ascend. In my time it was a seat harness, chest harness and a short sling to link them. At first I used Gibbs Ascenders, but added Petzel (handled) ascenders when I could afford them. Also, HELMETS! Cannot believe you folks don't wear climbing helmets, and yes I've taken rock fall to my helmet on SAR missions while on vertical rock. No helmet will save you if a big rock comes down your way, but so much little stuff can really hurt with some gravity and free air used up before it says HELLO! to your noggin, a proper climbing helmet is well worth the cost and the bother. You folks are doing great, hope your channel grows HUGE :)
Amazing adventure!! As a bearded fellow myself, I emphasize with you Trevor. I have 3 daughters who all loved to pull on my beard. The youngest is 6 months, so we're still working on that with her. That's still nothing compared to dangling by your beard 30' in the air 😂 you handled it like a pro!
Trevor, I've been wondering why I felt like I knew you a little, and it's cause you're TAWN'S brother!!! I worked with Tawn for some years in cable and you just can't forget a guy like him! Now this whole channel and you make a lot more sense! LOL. I love it! Sorry you lost your beard, but you held yourself together extremely well! Tell Tawn I said HI.
Great job Hollie I’m Proud of you. I did high rise window cleaning for 10 years. We Used a Bozeman chair to repel on. And the Wells Fargo tower in downtown SLC always had me shaking. And Trevor at-least I got a picture with you and that epic beard before this video buddy, and I’m Glad you’re ok.
Well done Holly , I’ve been in your position and conquered my own mind and emotions it’s quite taxing and fun, Trev except for the misshaping it’s a blast watching you and Tucker..
Sure glad ya didn't strip any of your chin away, had to have hurt! Sure understand, have had my beard since 1975 (lol). Perhaps you'll have to think about doing Australian rappel's, its quite a different feeling lol! Haven't dappled in years, this was a nice little show, & scenery too. Thought the grooves from all the rope work was kinda kool! You don't get that here, too much granite, lol! Fun adventure, even with the mis-adventure...! Thanx !
I had seen the hike already on Hollie's channel and had suffered with her quite a bit. Now Trevor had to top that with an even scarier move! The more subtle beard is perfectly fine by me, though. Nothing more needed with all the nice new hair on the top. And finally: We want to see more of Naomi, please! She's plenty cool.
Woah, that's a close shave, Trevor! :D Glad you lived to tell the tale! The new look suits you well too! That video made my day. A perfect misadventure!
It's always fun until it isn't. Great job Hollie !! It wouldn't be MisAdventure Lab with out at least a little misadventure. Thanks for taking us along.
glad you turned out safe. In high school we were rappeling in the theater, and one of the girls got her hair caught in the figure 8. she was hanging 20 feet in the air, just like trevor, but with her ear almost to the 8. real rough for her.
That sounds and looks like quite the adventure, Trevor! Glad to hear that didn't turn out worse! Still, you seem to have learned a valuable lesson, and you described what happened very well (thanks for the drawing!). I guess Tucker has a very good reason for keeping his facial hair short! ;-P
Awesome video guys. There's a lot of real good wholesome chemistry between you all, and it shows. Trevor did very well in a situation that could so easily have seen him medivac'ed out! Key learning from this, send the packs down separately, and always keep a sharp knife at hand!
Trevor nice to see you on you tube again. I miss your humor. Trevor the first thing I thought you were going to say "when I get home I am sharpening my knife". Holly nice to see you facing your fears. Makes me want to try it.
“I’d do it again, which is the psychotic part” ahahaha nice work Holly. Climbing trails ain’t nothin now. You guys need that on a shirt with a rock face lol
Well done Holly. I know what it's like to do stuff that you are terrified of. We used to abseil down sea cliffs so we could climb back up them, and it was impossible to hear your climbing partner because of the waves crashing on the cliff beneath you. Holly you should be proud of yourself.
Hair's lookin' pretty good, Trevor! (The stuff on top of your head. Sorry about the stuff at the bottom of your head...) I feel for ya' Hollie. Braver than me. Don't think I could back off a cliff. (I don't jump out of perfectly good planes, either. 😁 )
Of all the reasons why I’ve never grown a beard in the last 50 years, getting it stuck in a figure-of-eight never crossed my mind. Respect to Trevor for keeping his cool and to Hollie for being able to do any of those descents.
Holly did want to know about getting ones beard caught in there with the rope. To go ahead and show her was very kind of you. Looks like a good time was had by all.
Hollie, I don’t know what you should be more be proud of: 1). Doing that activity with a fear of heights. 2). Listening to all the Dad Jokes and keeping your smile! Trevor-I had my share of close calls with beards and THAT is one good reason to keep it high and tight.
Thank goodness you had the knife; with additional rope & or proper set up, they at the top, could have done a release & lowered you. Hair, hats, lite gloves, clothing are all items that can catch & attach to a rap device. If you hadn't gotten that out, someone would have needed to lower themselves, set up next to you, so you could stand up on a sling or small 'ladder' (attached to their side) and take the pressure off, then remove the stuck item (beard) & proceed on. Safety, efficiency and enjoyment the terms we always used. With safety is was anchor, rope & person; & Trevor got caught on the 2nd two safety points. (I don't wish to be critical, you were composed & dealt with it quickly & effectively). I did technical canyoneering for some 25 years, & for the last 10 taught myself & others self-rescue. We would also ascend a rope at times, (often planned) if coming back up a watery canyon so we didn't have to do the 'march out". Your site is a unique, varied & fun one, not the drama of recovering broken or 'down' vehicles. Good luck to all of you, & happily 'you' are OK.
Hollie you crushed it, do it again and again as often as you can that way you push away the fear and no worries you don't have a beard like Trevor had....Extending a belay device off your harness to rappel with a shoulder sling and the use of a prussik off the belay loop will help next time, cheers.
Some might say that the permanent grooves made in the rock @8:34 were done by dirtbikes but I don’t know. Probably 4x4s. Nice adventure, good humor, great company 👍
Holly, good job! GOOD JOB! I am so PROUD OF YOU! You doing great and you're always sarcastic so you needn't mention it here. LOL Hasn't anybody ever told you DON'T LOOK DOWN! HEY, i'D BE CRYING TOO! At least your beard didn't get caught!
More, more, MORE…..outdoor hiking misadventures!!!! Not sure if Trevor can survive it but……but willing roll the dice to see how he gets hurt next time! 😉😆
The first three and a half minutes are pure gold. And I’m glad Trevor’s humor is back on RUclips.
Especially when Tucker said he was gonna rappel without a rope if Trevor kept crackin' jokes! lol
A "Hairy" Situation?
Hollie was AMAZING!
She did that with a lot of pesto😬
That sucks about the beard!!! Awesome to watch Hollie overcome her fears!!!
Hollie is AMAZING!!!! Way to conquer your fears. It helps when your surrounded by great friends.
You did an awesome job of staying calm! I also have 18years of high angle search and rescue experience and can say it is very fortunate that you had him there to help it all!
“She Kilt it!!” Bahahaha that was awesome…thanks Trevor!
DEFINITELY, a misadventure, Trevor! 🤪 Holly did really well pushing through any petrifications.
The Scottish accent really comes out when Hollie is scared, it's nice!
I'm glad you're ok. The drawing was helpful, lol.
Glad you're ok Trevor!! Beard will grow back
Thank You Marae for saving Trevor.
As a fellow beard, Watching a man lose part of his beard is just as painful as seeing another guy get kicked in the balls. We have all felt the disturbance in the beard force, and pray that your new beard grow fuller, darker, and healthier!
As soon as the dome hair grew out, the beard said “fukk it I’m out!” 😂😂😂
Sorry about the beard, Trevor. I know it will grow back. Just happy to know thats all you had to sacrifice. Im also proud of Hollie for rappelling that whole trail! Glad to see Naomi out there too. It makes me want even more to come back and spend time in Utah!

❤ @ 15:50 aww Naomi, I feel ya! forty + years married and I'm still doing shyt to drive my better half crazy too 👍😎✊
the constant hair changes for Trevor keeping it fresh. Thanks to both of you for letting us chickens live vicariously through you!
Don't feel too bad, Hollie... I'd have been crying too!

I'm terrified of heights and wouldn't even attempt this. Hollie did AMAZING!!
Hollie! I My hands were sweating as you went over the edge and I felt your joy/releif at reaching the bottom..GREAT JOB!
Well done Holly , I’ve been in your position and conquered my own mind and emotions it’s quite taxing and fun, Trev except for the misshaping it’s a blast watching you and Tucker..

My eyes watering, feeling for you brother,
Thanks for the trip out 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼🤟🏼🤙🏼🖖🏼
I'm glad you are OK. Well done, keep up the good work.
Trevor, you look much better and younger without the beard!
Very glad you are ok and good luck on regrowing your beard.
The pain for Trevor must've been excruciating. I'm sure glad he's OK.
It's always fun until it isn't. Great job Hollie !! It wouldn't be MisAdventure Lab with out at least a little misadventure. Thanks for taking us along.
Holly getting emotional at the bottom was actually very cool.
Seriously, this whole video was GREAT!!!!!
Martae is exactly the kind of guy you want with you on misadventures. I believe he could safely get you out of about any jam.
glad you turned out safe.
In high school we were rappeling in the theater, and one of the girls got her hair caught in the figure 8. she was hanging 20 feet in the air, just like trevor, but with her ear almost to the 8. real rough for her.

Damn “ if you’re gonna be like this all day I’m gonna rappel without a rope!” My laughter scared the pups 🤣😂
Happy everyone is okay! Thank you for all the diverse content you put together for us!
I liked the Gaelic joke! 😁
Trevor nice to see you on you tube again. I miss your humor. Trevor the first thing I thought you were going to say "when I get home I am sharpening my knife". Holly nice to see you facing your fears. Makes me want to try it.
Awesome misadventure. Trevor, you look better without the beard and Hollie, good job dealing with the sheer panic you must have been feeling. 👍🏼
What an adventure! Glad you are safe, Trevor.
That looked incredibly painful. Hats off for keeping your sense of humour, even though you lost your beard!
Wow respect to you all, Great to see ya all having fun !!! :-) Jon UK
“I’d do it again, which is the psychotic part” ahahaha nice work Holly. Climbing trails ain’t nothin now. You guys need that on a shirt with a rock face lol
Ouch… I felt that! A misadventure in the making. Well done Trevor!
I’m digging the stache And hair is looking great
Glad you're ok T
Lol Tucker knew something horrible was coming. Gaelic bread.
I cracked up because it was so bad yet so good
Glad your OK Trevor. Cool as a cucumber!
Well done Holly. I know what it's like to do stuff that you are terrified of. We used to abseil down sea cliffs so we could climb back up them, and it was impossible to hear your climbing partner because of the waves crashing on the cliff beneath you. Holly you should be proud of yourself.
So sorry about your beard Trevor but glad you are okay! Holly is awesome facing her fears!😳
Expect the Unexpected Trevor you look about 20 years younger Need more of Hollie on the channel
That was a hairy situation. Great video! You live up to your channel name!
Hair's lookin' pretty good, Trevor! (The stuff on top of your head. Sorry about the stuff at the bottom of your head...)
I feel for ya' Hollie. Braver than me. Don't think I could back off a cliff. (I don't jump out of perfectly good planes, either. 😁 )
Trevor sounds like your luck about like mine , just glad your OK and beards grow back.
Kyle
Hiking in flip-flops and bare feet?
Ouch Trevor, that had to hurt!
Trevor, your pure gold 😂
I thought that losing my beard when my roll over car exploded into a fireball was the most epic way!
That is pretty epic
Look so much younger💪
Great clip, MA! Goes without saying, Trevor, glad you got free, cannot think of much worse.
Of all the reasons why I’ve never grown a beard in the last 50 years, getting it stuck in a figure-of-eight never crossed my mind. Respect to Trevor for keeping his cool and to Hollie for being able to do any of those descents.

2). Listening to all the Dad Jokes and keeping your smile!
Trevor-I had my share of close calls with beards and THAT is one good reason to keep it high and tight.
I been waiting for this since Holly posted on her channel.
Glad you are ok. I recently had to loose my favorite beard as well- although not in quite as traumatic fashion…
Glad ur all good dude👍
Poor Trevor. As a bearded man myself, I’m sorry for your loss
I feel your pain, my beard is currently about 12” in length and I have had it caught on a multitude items. I have had a beard for over 58 years.
Thank goodness you had the knife; with additional rope & or proper set up, they at the top, could have done a release & lowered you. Hair, hats, lite gloves, clothing are all items that can catch & attach to a rap device. dang trevor, your hair has grown in quick nicely (on top of your head!)
Awe man Trevor. That could've gone so bad. Glad everything turned out ok.
Great job again.
Hollie you crushed it, do it again and again as often as you can that way you push away the fear and no worries you don't have a beard like Trevor had....Extending a belay device off your harness to rappel with a shoulder sling and the use of a prussik off the belay loop will help next time, cheers.
When a beard window closes, a door to head hair opens.
Trevor, you and I share tastes in socks and beards, it was sad to see the beard get shaved...but you look like a bad ass with the handlebar stash!
Classic Trevor!
Some might say that the permanent grooves made in the rock @8:34 were done by dirtbikes but I don’t know. Probably 4x4s. Nice adventure, good humor, great company 👍
An actual misadventure, I subscribed 😎
You look sooooo good with anddd with out the beard .
Tbh with the new hair and short beard I think it mite have been ment to happen ur a new man😊
Another great video by misadventure lab!
Oh man glad ur ok
Holly, good job! GOOD JOB! I am so PROUD OF YOU! You doing great and you're always sarcastic so you needn't mention it here. LOL Hasn't anybody ever told you DON'T LOOK DOWN! HEY, i'D BE CRYING TOO! At least your beard didn't get caught!
glad your ok beards grow back

Yessiree redefining the “mis” in misadventure! 😁
