But when you meet someone and surprisingly connect, they get in and maybe they break your heart and "kill you" (feels like dying). But you will live, it just sucks and feels painful. He writes this experience with such economy and it really hits home for me - that's why it's brilliant!
Probably his weakest album , only 2 stand out tracks , but he remains more interesting than other rock/pop stars. His previous album “You are the quarry” was his strongest but he’s made some good stuff since. Generally his LPs haven’t been as strong as The Smiths albums. But he’s still worth a listen & always will be.
People make way too much of Morrissey...the Smith's were great but Morrissey a an artist doesn't come even close to Bowie. And the claim that he's a lyrical genius always befuddles me ..yes he had moments of genius especially with the Smith's..but the Majority of his lyrics are just boring and repetitive themes..
He has the most soothing speaking voice.
