Again, I just wanna say, props to Chara and his editor for making easily digestible visual examples, with the private matches, the clips, and even the strategy boards like at 9:33. I really wish other youtubers for other games did the same thing.
Honestly one thing I’d love to see more of in these guides are suggested weapons that work well with the weapon featured in the video, like Storm users working well with Brella for its ability to stall out fights even better with HP regen. Either way, great vid!
I would also like a follow-up video discussing topics that involve teammate interactions, including synergy and ideal team composition. In the meantime, let us recall the traits, strengths and weaknesses of the Sorella Brella: * Role: Skirmisher * Short range + High survivability + Good mobility - Low ink efficiency - Slow splatting time In short, a Sorella Brella player will need at least one longer-ranged teammate, at least one Slayer who can quickly capitalize on opponents occupied by the Brella, and teammates who can turf more efficiently. Also of note is which teammate Special Weapons a Brella player can benefit from. The Tacticooler enhances a Brella player's abilities, especially their mobility (Swim and Run Speed Up). A Sorella Brella user would benefit from the presence of a N-ZAP '85 (also good turfing) or Snipewriter 5H (also long-ranged) user on their team. To promote Special Weapon variety, it would be unadvisable to add another Inkjet user, which likely eliminates the Annaki Splattershot Nova (also poor damage), the Rapid Blaster Deco (also poor turfing and slow splatting time without Torpedo combos), and (Vanilla) Tri-Slosher (also short-ranged and not enough turfing).
They might be trying to make undercover brella a lightweight or mobility focused brella with its recent buff. Doesn’t fix its current damage weakness but it’s an interesting way to buff it
it is meant to be the lightweight, but i'll say its a very strange way to make a lightweight. usually they have faster killtimes, not slower ones, but i understand for balancing it makes sense given that it literally can block shots with the main weapon. still, the inconsistency of the damage kind of ruins the whole thing anyways
I find it amusing that Brella's worst match-ups are chargers, blasters... and anything with "tri" in its name, lmao. Brilliant video. I agree with some of the other comments that a section on suggested weapon teammates and a small blip on why they work well, alongside the reasoning you stated earlier on what brella likes to be with, would be really nice, especially for people looking to team up and try out a brella comp.
Shoutout to the editor for switching in and out of the velumental battle waiting and action themes depending on what was being shown on screen at 4:31, you’re insane and I love you. Origami King music is too underrated thank you for spreading the good word.
4:31 The editor is actually so goated for using Origami King music here, that game's soundtrack is INCREDIBLY underrated Edit: And then the Zinnia Battle theme and Celeste music right afterwards?! Luis has amazing taste in music
This guide was extremely well put together, especially the editing. It makes me wanna pick brella back up again. I dropped it soon after 4 starring it because Zooka meta was annoying af but now I’m seriously thinking of picking it back up
Splat Brella main since Splatoon 2. "Role and Matchups" and "Advanced Tips" sections are quite eye-opening. This is gonna be sooo helpful for optimizing my brella play. Loving the field plan in that one example to give us an idea of brella's skirmisher role. Here's hoping for another Splat Brella with Inkstorm!
Wow this video was so hugely helpful. In the past I tried to get into brellas a few times but never managed to figure it out. Thanks to your advice I was able to get 4 wins in a row right after watching. :D
Starting with the basics and covering increasingly more complex stuff as the video goes on is so simple but actually a genius way to do it, if you do any other weapon guides in the future you should definitely do it in the same style. (Which I'd love to see you do, this one came out _extremely_ high-quality!)
I am not going to play the wqeapon but seeing you play and explain the weapon actually makes me feel interested.IMO, you would be more popular if you keep doing this guides for other weapons, because this video was so good, Chara. I wish people explain things with the care you do
Beautiful guide, the information and the way it is presented was very easy (for me at least) to comprehend and it actually makes me want to play the weapon now since it is in a somewhat decent spot right now in the meta. Thank you very much and love your videos!
Brealla needs a 3rd kit tbh I mean EVERY weapon does ideally But I really want to see a support brella that isn’t forced into support by having a bad shield
As someone who has been playing Brella since it has come out, this is an excellent video about the basics of this weapon, it’s the most unique weapon in the game, it deserves attention!
I appreciate how much effort you put in to setting up the scenarios you're talking about in-game to create the background footage. Taking the time to get footage from custom games and finding sometimes multiple people to do it with you sounds time consuming.
Ooooh tysm for this!!! Brella really excites me but I'd struggled to figure out what exactly I should be doing with it, so this video is perfect! Learning about its role has only grown that feeling so I'm gonna get on learning this weapon~
Thanks so much for this guide Chara. I haven't touched Brella since Splatoon 2 cause I had forgotten how to play it. It was one of my most played back then and now I've been enlightened!
I really like how you explained brella and I’m really looking forward to seeing more guides like this, and I also hope this inspires other RUclipsrs to make guides about their favorite weapons. Thanks chara you are one of the best things to ever happen to this community.
FINALLY a GOOD guide of any splatoon 3 weapon, which covers techs, matchups, frame data, objectives, roles, gear recomendation, etc. Ive seen another yt channels but they dont cover very well the toppics as you do. Definitely i would be soooo much happy if you start a playlist of weapons guide or even a "how to play splatoon 3 guide" like IzawSmash does in smashultimate. Thank you for make a really good video
me, picking up undercover brella and doing quite decent in casual matches: ok, seems not bad, want to build a proper gear set for it, keeping it Kensa style as well, will take some time but it shall be good! gear guide video: lol undercover is worst weapon me: i'mma go kingsman on y'all
I would love a range and sblast guide in the future! I love both of those weapons and an in depth look into how those weapons want to play would be incredible
This was long-awaited and so worth it!!!!! I’ve always enjoyed brella, but recently wanted to get better at it when its Sorella kit came out and this guide was really helpful, so thank you! :)
Honestly, this is a very amazing guide on playing Sorella Brella! And if you do happen to do a guide on S-Blast 91 in the future, I would love to hear your tips on the weapon. I'm getting better with S-Blast 91, and it's becoming one of my favs as it's fun to play for me! However, I think my main struggles with S-Blast is managing ink consumption, mobility in fights and what positions/flanks in fights make it most effective. Otherwise, I'm having a blast with the S-Blast 91 (pun maybe intended)! Again, this guide definitely will help many Sorella Brella players learn to play the weapon more effectively! Heck, I might even try Sorella Brella at some point after watching this guide! :D
to all my fellow brella mains: chara has made a guide, you MUST continue the grind now. I've been burned out from using the dogwater main weapon, make me proud o7
even though ive got 4 star sbrella i feel like im not doing the best i can with the weapon, hopefully this'll help (here before it comes out)!! edit: so i knew about the hp regen as soon as the shield drops but i never thought about dropping shield and moving so the shield can regen???? im gonna try to actually implement this
Sometimes the ping can make playing this thing disheartening, but it is really satisfying to learn and play sometimes and the kit synergy makes it worth it in my opinion so thanks for this guide
I never rly liked brella but this changed my mind on it! I love stamper and I seen it was in the other list so I'd love to see a vid on that too! Keep up the great work Chara!
Fantastic guide, this helped me understand a lot of things about this weapon, and it's role (I never new this was a skirmisher) and some other small stuff. Can't wait for the next guides keep it up!
Great guide! I will definitely try sorella brella. Right now I am using sorella tent and would maybe like a guide on that weapon? I am guessing many of these tips will work, but it is a lot slower. More of an aggressive anchor weapon than a defensive frontliner, taking threatening spots that are still away from danger.
One thing you could have mentioned in the advanced tips section is the point-blank shield combo you can do because it can be very useful against weapons like sploosh or carbon.
Something that I think could have been brought up in more detail is understanding how to manage latency in regards to Brella as it's probably more important to understand for this weapon then any other. There's even an important tech due to latency being: if you close your shield before it breaks on your screen you can circumvent the lag when it breaks. This is particularly useful in matchups against splatanas to be able to take advantage of their weaker kill time.
Wow another amazing vid by prochara you should make a guide on dread wringer!! Since I know you have been playing it a lot I'm trying to get better with it!! ❤️
I really enjoyed this guide! I hope you can make one for as many weapons in the game as possible, but I understand that these guides probably take a lot of time to produce, so even if you cover just a few weapons, it would be nice. My only critique is that this guide could be outdated once we get third kits or balance changes, but even then it shouldn’t be hard to make a small “follow up guide” or write a pinned comment.
I’ve actually recently started using VBrella and Sorella Brella more often in open because it’s just really fun when it works. And that’s a BIG emphasis on when it works.
I find it funny that undercover basically swaps the match up spots of splatlings and charger since while it cant hold out against the barrage of shots from splatlings it can easily block the full charge of the charger and close the gap forcing them to use wimpy tap shots or try to flee so they have time to charge and get defeated by the undercover
Also i think brellas in general are arguably both good and bad against zooka simultaneously now here me out yes in both splat brella and undercover brellas cases its gonna 1 shot the shield but that means to actually defeat you they have to use 2/3 shots of a zooka to defeat just 1 player perhaps all 3 if its tent (im not sure if its a 1 or 2 shot as of writing this) so they are left with only 1 shot they HAVE to make count or the special is wasted and i personally see that as valuable. stamp on the other hand you try fighting that 9 times outa 10 your gonna be a invertebrate pancake
The only thing I could think of for the original kit is that they were intending you to launch the shield while using Inkstrike but… that just doesn’t work as well as something like the Tenta Brella launching and then using a special 😊
I've been working with sorrela brella a lot recently (just got it to 3 star yippe!) And watching this made me think better about how I couldve taken some of my battles. Using other movement options and not just "run up and hope for the best". Sometimes there were other options and I took the worst one and I see how I can improve... now to learn tentabrella EDIT: I tried playing sorrela brella again while internalizing some of these tips and it did actually help a lot!
Amazing video! Very informative and fun to watch. I haven't played brella mich in 3 after playing heaps in 2, bug I feel like maybe I should give it another go
Thanks for this video ! I think brellas are really fun to use ! But i needed tips and this video was great ! Im an older player , almost 50 lol but loooove splatoon ! I follow both ur channels ! They are great ! SplatTribe ! 😊

Yesss, Luis's editing is so good
i loved that part, i think his content is so ood just because the care he puts so we understand everything
Wow, finally! A guide on how to turn on the hidden mode in the game to exclusively pair you up with 9000 ping Australian shooter players!
I must’ve gotten a bugged copy, that option is locked to on since I hit S rank in the first month of the game even with a wired connection
As an Australian, brella is super buggy for both me and my opponents. Half the time the shield doesn't even protect you when it's clearly up.
@@LuddyFish_yes, and I’ve never had a charger sightline actually be on me when I get sniper by it
Sorry my b
As an Australian I am so sorry to anyone who has to play against me I am laggy as hell
IT'S FINALLY OUT

@@DaDoc540 i wish i could bookmark this
I wish the default kit still had ink storm instead of tri strike. The synergy would be crazy!
We all love brella. The brella shall rise and turn the meta upside!
I wish 😢
I think it needs to have less ink consumtion
They might be trying to make undercover brella a lightweight or mobility focused brella with its recent buff. Doesn’t fix its current damage weakness but it’s an interesting way to buff it

i mean it can block triple splashdown
As an Undercover main, thank you for helping brella players.
Imagine if undercover was meta
That would be AMAZING@@FaisalBashir1

Guides are a good way to get more viewers, while being also excellent content and helpful in general toward casual players as well.
