My wife passed away Dec 12th 23....she was attracted to me because I could sing and play her Merle Haggard songs...and I could teach her to play along with me.....She was beautiful and Merle Haggard brought us together for 23 incredible years.
He wore glasses many years though usually when performing, sunglasses that had prescription lenses. Wire frames. He was quite goodlooking. Met him standing by his motorhome when he played in Baltimore at Painters Mill, around 1981. He was parked out back and I was with the DJ that had some nice passes. He was just hanging out and very nice.
I enjoyed country music back in the day. There were some great songs, great songwriters, and great performers. It fit in good with the rock-n-roll life I led. I miss country music. I guess times change and music changes with it. And that's alright because it just makes these classics that much more golden.
