    I bought Logic Pro 10 years ago for only $230 Australian Dollars. It was UNBELIEVABLE value back then. A decade on and I’ve not had to pay a cent for any updates since. Love you forever Apple!

      I got given my licence for work 😆 it feels like cheating the system at this point. I did still 100% expect them to drop us into a subscription tier or possibly only offer subscription to new customers. Very happy that's not the case.

      It’s pretty smart in reality. You have to have a Mac to run it so if they make people like Logic people will keep buying new Mac’s. If Logic was available on PC I bet they would start making you pay for upgrades.

      Coolness, but then again, cost of update, $2600 for mac studio. 🎹♥️

      @830jkl my old Mac which my partner has is a 2017 iMac I used it from 2017 till early 2023. Is still more than capable for Logic Pro and is running Ventura 👌 mixed a couple albums, produced 2 and did countless other projects with it myself.

      @@830jkl you can run logic on an older mac. You just have to limit how many VSTs you have running. Before I got my new computer I would bounce tracks to audio often. If a track is only audio with limited plugins you can get away with a pretty large project.

    I have an M1 Max MacBook Pro and I kept getting the spinning beach ball. I adjusted my buffer size, didn't matter. Finally, I realized a few apps were running in the background. Once I started closing them down, I haven't had an issue since

      The logic user base vs general amount of Mac sold is less then 1% however those who buy the likes of Logic, FCP etc tend to be lifetime customers.

      I have been a Logic user since its birth as C-Lab Notator in the early nineties and later when it became Emagic. I think we are talking about at least 30 years. Unfortunately, since it became exclusive to Apple, you are conditioned and at the mercy of what Apple dictates, which I have never been a fan of.
      I got off the Logic boat in 10.5 and all this commercial and absurd utopia of spatial audio and Dolby Atmos that does not benefit music at all; I understand the system for cinema and the audiovisual area, I find it captivating, but not to create and mix music, it does not sound good to me.
      I have been a musician and I have been a musician and a passionate acoustician for 40 years.
      On the other hand, an important part of my life was spent managing computer systems and networks, where Apple does not have an important presence to tell the truth. Apple servers are very rare, very expensive, very uncommon.
      In recent performance tests, Apple computers have not scored well against Intel, let alone AMD, except in a couple of areas that are more related to the optimization of certain software than to Apple hardware.
      That they are soldering RAM and limiting it as they please, with arguments that on the empirical basis fall apart on their own. It seems to me personally, a reason not to buy an Apple computer again in a good period of time.
      I have had it up to my eyeballs with their "planned obsolescence" system and this maelstrom of releasing stupid operating systems with so many bugs and incompatibilities. What they have achieved is that hardware manufacturers open their markets, and some of them move to PC; in fact I am that defector user.
      With half the money that an Apple pro is worth, you can build a supersonic aircraft on PC, I'm not exaggerating, with a much higher quality of components and superior performance. Cost-benefit.
      It makes me very sad that people would rather settle for standards like Apple and Pro Tools that have been superseded, and not from now, than at least give a chance to other equipment that will blow their minds, like those from Merging Technologies, which are overwhelmingly superior in their quality of components and converters.
      I have always loved Logic, but besides the fact that they have had leaks of designers and engineers who have moved to other platforms, I find the idea of planned obsolescence incompatible, I abhor it.
      I have 15 year old PC's, very well assembled, that still give me good service, although it seems incredible.
      I believe that a computer should give you a useful life of 10 years, but never five or three years because a company thinks we are bottomless pits, or as if you should be in the latest fashion.
      Logic Pro was the best DAW for music creation, but not anymore.

    I really don't understand the hysteria about the potential subscription that everyone was freaking out over. When will people understand that the $2000 Mac itself IS the incentive. It would make absolutely no sense for Apple to make Logic Pro for Mac subscription based, when the Mac itself already costs so much money. A one time purchase of $200 = free lifetime updates will definitely get people to go out and buy Macs (hardware) and that's really the point. And then when all is said and done, when you really really really think about it? Logic doesn't REALLY need your money to begin with, Apple is a trillion dollar company. You really have to look at everything as a whole to understand how Apple operates.

    • @Unders
      @Unders  2 месяца назад +1

      You realise i worked for Apple for 8 years, Am very familiar with how they operate an 100% expected them to move to subscription. An iPad Pro is excess of £1000 too, Logic is subscription. Infact now Apple makes more from its "services" business than it does its Mac business. Shareholder wise it would be the easiest sell ever.

    • @drvoodoo3073
      @drvoodoo3073 2 месяца назад +1

      @@Unders Exactly what I meant in my last sentence! They're not making money from Logic or even from Macs that much, nowhere near what they make from iPhones and iPads. THAT'S why they don't even need to force a subscription on Logic Pro for Mac. Besides, they're already making money from the Logic iPad subscription + iPad sales

    • @Unders
      @Unders  2 месяца назад +1

      @@drvoodoo3073 Not needing to is seldom in the Apple MO now days. Old apple was for innovation and exceeding the expectation, Tim's apple isn't like that now. They can an do claw the little stuff now.
      Regardless, for now us Logic owners are in the clear 👌
