Hi! I'm trying to make an hourlong playlist introducing BMTH to my friend, and I want to put parts of all of their styles, but i mainly only know Sempiternal and some of their newest stuff. Do you have any recommendations?
@@dharmahopkins4388 id start with liquor & love lost, then chelsea smile and diamonds aren't forever, alligator blood, the full sempiternal album, avalanche, sugar honey ice tea, mother tongue and heavy metal, underground big, then finish with dear diary, patasite eve, teardrops, obey, kingslayer and ludens (throw in one day the only butterflies as a bonus track for fun)
I would be so happy to go on a metalhead journey with this man. The symbolism and deep lyrics of a lot of rock and metal would hit Ernest hard and listening to someone as educated and philosophical as our man Ernest talking about these rock bands would be amazing.
@ag900 "soft" isn't really a factor on if something is or isn't metal, the same way songs and bands with "hard/heavy" songs aren't automatically metal. BMTH is still metal, just not death metal, and they have added extra elements to their music, some metal, some not.
You need to check out their live performance from the Royal Albert, they have a full orchestra as a background band and it is absolutely chilling how good it sounds and how he feels the lyrics live
You have to react to "Shadow Moses" "Doomed" "Medicine" and "Ludens" in that order!!! That order technically describes their insane transformation and transitions.
just bought tickets to their first show after the pandemic break which happens to be in my hometown of Novosibirsk, so glad you're finally giving them a shot
When they did this song live at royal albert hall, Oli Sykes, the singer, dedicated this song to people with cancer, and when you listen to this song thinking the person singing has cancer and is describing how he feels having cancer it makes it very intense and emotional
Bro.. my fav bands are Twentyone Pilots and Bring me The horizon! You MUST react to more of BMTH. I can suggest lot of songs, like “doomed” “it never ends” “sleepwalking”. I can say lots of songs. Can’t wait to see more! Best wishes
This is a style that they have only done for one album. If you want more of this first, check out "Doomed" (the live version at Royal Albert Hall) If you want more of their new stuff check out "Teardrops" or "Kinglsayer". For older stuff I would recommend "Chelsea Smile"
I have been going through a hard time in life, and the lyrics BMTH write and the intensity of their music help me so much when I'm in my darkest places, it helps me clear my head, be more than I am, it helps me fight.
Ohhhh I remember the times when “What doesn’t kill you make you wish you were dead” was my mantra, lmaoooo I felt so emo those days. BMTH is still my favorite band in that genre (that I can’t really give a name cause they keep on switching up styles and exploring new sounds), and they’ve managed to remain relevant, fresh and most importantly their music is amazing, good production, videos and lyrics. You should definitely check out some of their songs, like “Antivist”, “Follow you”, “Ludens”, you’ll be surprised it’s the same band through all those songs. And I see you reacted to the band “While She Sleeps”, the vocalist of this band (BMTH) is featured in one song of WSI, it’s called “Silence speaks”. You saying “this video is so strange”, that line could fit any BMTH song tho.💀
they released a new ep about a month ago, and all the songs on there are definitely some of their best work. you'd probably really like anything from the album "thats the spirit" and everything afterward. i recommend avalanche, doomed, and happy song as those are all very similar in style to drown. excited to see more reactions for this band!
@@mickey245 the old one was a older version of the song used in the video (so its not new he watched). The new version is just a better mastered version of the song (if you go to the single version on apple and then the new directly after you can hear a mastering difference).
Yesssss definitely more BMTH! Happy Song, Throne, Doomed ( live at Albert hall ) Shadow Moses, Ludens, 1x1, can you feel my heart....it’s endless of how many good songs they got in their arsenal and sounds different from one another
Bruh this is like my worlds colliding. I got into your channel with all your weeknd videos but I’m also really into rock and metal. Bmth has been easily one of my favorite bands lately, really looking forward to you checking out more
Dude yes bmth i need more of this!! i havent even heard the vid yet but i feel youll love it!!! We need Doomed (live from royal albert hall) its from an album that they did a total live orchestral version of.
I am subscribing because it is awesome to see someone actually pay attention to the lyrics and try to discern the meaning even if it's for just from their view. Well done sir!
The part where he says "it comes in waves, i close my eyes, hold my breath and let it bury me." i've always thought of that as in the weight of his struggles comes in waves. As someone who's had depression since i was 13, that's what it can feel like, it's not just solid feeling like shit. It can come in waves and when those low times come, it literally feels like the weight of all that turmoil is slowing you down. It can sometimes feel like you're actually holding your breath and those dark thoughts make you want to end that pain. Those lyrics for me are like my thoughts articulated in such a hauntingly beautiful way.
My sister is probably the biggest BMTH fan out there. Shes been seeing them live and listening to them for as long as i can remember and im 19 (shes 29) she had and extra ticket for their concert in philly last year and ive listened to them but not really enough to want to see them in concert, i went anyways, it was probably one of the most amazing and outstanding shows ive ever been to
I'm glad to see you venture into these reactions. I love your hip-hop and pop breakdowns but metal and rock are my wheelhouse so I'm excited to see what you think man!
It's so crazy to me seeing BMTH having so much fanfare. I remember going to their shows in small venues several times in the early 2010's. They put on an amazing show, and it's cool to see them evolve with the times and getting the props they deserve. Cheers!
I’m just telling you now that they sound different on every record but this is why they are my favourite band 🙌🏻 and Drown was a great starting point to dive into their music 🖤
A friend sent me a new BMTH song and was like THIS NEW BAND SOUNDS LIKE LINKIN PARK...I almost spat out my drink and thought he was trolling. Listen to their 2010 warped tour lineup and tell me that again 😂
Not only are the lyrics deep in a physical, literal sense, but are also pretty metaphorical. In most of BMTH’s music (especially the album “That’s The Spirit”) are just indirect and deep.
You should definitely check out their new song 'one day the only butterflies left will be in your chest as you March towards your death'. The lyrical content is genius
I love your analysis of all the songs! This song is one of my absolute favs by BMTH, manly because of the deep lyrics. Can you feel my heart is another banger with a similar energy.
This is the band that has continuously topped my Spotify "Most Played Artist" chart on my yearly review for the last 4 years. There's so many avenues to go down with them, they're just one of those bands that do everything so proficiently. "Doomed - Live at the Royal Albert Hall" is mesmerizing. Their newest album, **_*Survival Horror_* is just incredible though. A perfect blend of every sound they've acquired in the last 16 years, all seamlessly meshed together to appeal to all fans. What this band has achieved is no easy feat, so you're in for a treat.
This is the first Bring Me song I've ever heard and what got me into them about like 2 years ago. Fast forward 2 months later I've listened to their whole discography and they become one of my favorite bands. Post Human is by far their best record. Took every sound of each era and mix it all in one record. They've reached a point where they can put out anything and absolutely crush it no matter what style. They are a band without boundaries of genres now. Their creativity is limitless. Can't wait for the rest of Post Human
The music video is a visual representation what it feels like when under the heaviness of depression, how it leaves you feeling. Also how those people feel the rest of the world looks at them as; "crazy people".
"drag the lake, and bring me home again" that line made me look up what drag the alke means, leading me into another good song; The Amity Affliction, Drag the lake... lol crazy
Brother, you gotta check out "A Day To Remember" or "I Prevail" both of those bands have amazing lyrics. They're heavier and there is screaming but oh the lyrics.

Wow man, so happy that you reacted to them. The writing is amazing, and their production is getting better and batter over the years. Bro if you really want to be blown away by them check out their live concert at The Royal Albert Hall. Backed by an entire Orchestra and Choir. Its fucking amazing.
Love your reaction.. Please check out "Can you feel my heart" From BRing Me The Horizon too. The ending with the exorcism is a symbolism of our inner demons and struggles we have, in "Can You Feel My Heart" they have a line that says "I can't drown my demons they know how to swim", which I feel is a similar reference to this song..
Woo awesome surprise this react i was just thinking about that. They're already shaking the game with each record being a different and higher bet than the previous one. The new EP is gotta be the best record of the year and it's not even an album! U should check it out.. and maybe start with some of their classic hold songs like the ones in Sempiternal or That's the Spirit. I'd love to watch you react to Sleepwalking or Shadow Moses, sick tracks everybody would agree. They really went full spectrum mixing genres from their deathcore roots to electronic rock, metalcore, pop to even EDM. And now mashing it all up perfectly. I also think Oli has a lyrical approach somehow close to MGK as strange as it may sounds.
“I don’t know the writing style” bro we’re like 9 albums & EPs in and we don’t know either
Lol true. They change it up and that’s good.
😂😂😂😂

If you get to do the song DOOMED by BMTH please please do the live one at Royal Albert Hall. Shit is mesmerizing. He has a whole orchestra setup
Agreed. This would be insane
oh yes please yes we need this
YES
Best performance I've ever seen from them
YES PLEASEEEEEEEEEEE.
You should check out their new song kingslayer feat BABYMETAL
Su-metal verses 🔥🔥🔥
or parasite eve not as heavy but as good
Go checkout BabyMetal,s magitsune it’s cute shitt man💥
You need to check out their live performance from the Royal Albert, they have a full orchestra as a background band and it is absolutely chilling how good it sounds and how he feels the lyrics live
YES YES 10000000x YES
Absolutely. Should do all the original songs first tho then this p
Perfect timing since they uploaded all of it yesterday on their channel
DUDE I'M SO EXCITED YOU STARTED WITH BMTH.
They are exceptionally diverse in their sound. And I absolutely can't wait for you to hear more
fave band, they are literally from about an hour away from where i live too
weird to think most UK bands only live like 8 hours at most away from us
Dude, reacting to their live stuff at Royal Albert Hall is a must. Its amazing.
You need to do more bmth
You should analyze“Can You Feel My Heart?” by them. It’s a classic and the first song I heard by them in middle school
Second this! If he liked this song that would be the best song for him to dive into their music
A masterpiece
They dont have a singular sound, everything they do is insanely different!
You have to react to "Shadow Moses" "Doomed" "Medicine" and "Ludens" in that order!!! That order technically describes their insane transformation and transitions.
That would be so cool
This ^^^^
just bought tickets to their first show after the pandemic break which happens to be in my hometown of Novosibirsk, so glad you're finally giving them a shot

Patreon eased you into BMTH. Well buckle up cuz you just hopped on a roller coaster. And I’m here for it!!
would highly suggest "if you can't hang" by sleeping with sirens, or "king for a day" by pierce the veil
You have to be a Lauren Babic fan... if you're not, you will be after you check out her covers of those 2 songs

This song is one of those that helped me move past times when I wanted to die
im surprised no one mention BMTH is dressing like the band called the The Animals - House of the Rising Sun
BMTH- "Throne" "Ludens" "Parasite Eve" Kingslayer" best songs and videos ever made :))
Dear diary > kingslayer imo. Don't get me wrong they're both great, but kingslayer definitely sounds like a collab song and less like a bmth sound.
I have been going through a hard time in life, and the lyrics BMTH write and the intensity of their music help me so much when I'm in my darkest places, it helps me clear my head, be more than I am, it helps me fight.
