I love how Mat Nicholls(drummer) is the main focus of this song and video. A lot of BMTH songs are like this. Sure Oli has great vocals and lyrics, and the bass and guitars do their thing but it’s like they’re all following the drums. Mat’s drumming is so powerful and you can feel emotion in it.
I literally feel like crying everytime I listen to this, even now I’m in tears. This is about being in depression and drug abuse and such and I relate to it after the things I’ve been through. And this has so much emotion in it and then you don’t feel alone, they are amazing like this

I do think the video clip relates to the song itself in the way we all face our inner demons that can manifest in so many ways and then they use religion as a way to free our demons, which I think it is a satirical criticism to how we handle our demons, those that can be depression, loneliness as you mentioned. But this song sooooo perfect

Nah fam, Sempiternal is their best album ever !! There is a hell is fkin amazing but when you pay attention and compare these two albums you know that how deep the lyrics are, the instrumental is on another level, there’s new sounds, vocals are clean and how epic it is... You know that Sempiternal is king. I love their heavy stuff but I consider that That’s The Spirit is their second best album ever but a lot of people are not ready for this conversation.
I respect your take on the video but coming from someone who has been commited to severial psychiatric hospitals. I think you missed the point of this song. In the video he is "in a hospital" and the doctors are not treating him (something I have experienced many times). So that is why the chorus is "Don't let me Drown".
He was addicted to ketamine for years. He went to rehab, they wrote sempreternal because of it. Its about his addiction like most of their songs. Your welcome.
