These canals hold fish of all sizes! It is always a mystery what fish it could be so let us wait and see!

It blows my mind how you can catch in the heat...folks not from here don't realize that it's 100 degrees by 7 AM
right lol. There was a guy from el centro CA one time complaining of heat. high of 120. But in CA for the most part it cools off so his low was like 78. I had to explain to him the lows here are steady mid 80s and even 90s sometimes. There is no opening your windows at night to cool down lol

Those canals get tons of pressure. More people fish out in the desert than you think. I find I catch bigger fish in the evenings when they can’t see me.

Bro I fish the friant kern canal this past year they drained it and seen tons of bass in the shallows. Also 300$ in crank baits. This video was a surprise for me

Quick question… why don’t you use those inexpensive clip on bells when you have multiple rods set up on the bank? It seems that you would likely catch more fish…

Where I fish it catches big bass
I use the same bobber I use it with a bobber stop so I’m not trying to chuck a 3 or 4 foot leader and hook out. Have you had any luck slip floating a bobber?
Yea I use slip floats too if it’s too deep. But this length is manageable for me personally. When I get to the 4-8 ft range I’ll use a slip float

That’s a hike, but I have fished Mary a few times now. Video will be out soon
Just went to both this weekend. Lower lake Mary is dried. Upper lake was muddy and lots of boats and jet skis. Went to ashurst and didn’t get anything. Would like to see how you do, maybe I can learn something. Now you got the truck for it.

Really curious, is there a reason to have the drag set so loose?
@@BJOlson I had a 6lb leader on my braid rod, and I think straight 6 on my other. I keep it on the looser side for the most part just because I’ve had bad luck in the past setting the hook then breaking off on something bigger that takes a quick run. And sometimes I’m just lazy and don’t set my drag properly before fishing lol
Why not have a 2nd rod with sitting on the bottom. Up your chances to catch, like some of your other vids.
Mainly because we were moving a lot. Not a ton of sitting and waiting this day

Why donpeople place so much emphasis on using artificial lures? Marketing? Cant sell worms for much?
I think it’s a money thing. Lures make more than people buying worms.
It's fun buying them,testing them out,using them,and even funner when u actually catch something on them..plus some people like to stay active vs. just sitting there waiting for a bite on bait
