Hi everyone!! Thank you so much for watching this video! We enjoyed the song, but many of you pointed out we should check out the studio version so stay tuned!! 😎😎
I like this version better probably. But I also grew up listening to this live album as a bigger part of my youth, the high and dry out album, which I was a little too young to appreciate at the time.
Great reaction. I was 17,saw this concert live. Check this one out, Rock of Ages. Live Denver 1988 Hysteria Tour (HD). Notice the drummers special ability DefLepardHD.
Great reaction, sisters! Def Leppard has one of the most resilient stories in music, definitely! It makes us admire them even more. They're still one of the biggest bands in the world right now, even after 47 years as an active band, and they deserve it.
RIP Steve Clark. Legend! Seen the boys three times live and the boys never disappoint. One of my fav bands! By the way girls, they gave you a good view (7:20) of Rick Allen on drums but you didn't pick up the fact he's only playing with one arm!
Please check out the studio version from the album High N Dry; and if you do, also check out the track that follows this on the album called Switch 625. It’s a guitar solo from Steve Clark, Def Leppard’s original co-lead guitar player.
You have no idea how big this band was in the early 80's, They were one of the first Heavy Metal/Rock bands to get constant airplay on the radio. The early stuff is their best stuff...so many bangers!!!
There are two different studio versions. The first one features an earlier band member, Pete Willis. The second features Phil Collen, who replaced Willis. Both videos are great in each of their own right. Both videos were filmed in the days when Rick Allen still had both of his arms.
Siguiente:(Pour some sugar on me) del mismo concierto,no se si lo notaron pero el baterista tiene un solo brazo ya que la otra lo perdio en un accidente unos años atras antes del concierto.
Studio version with original guitarist Pete Willis is a thousand times better. Combine that with Steve's solo Switch 625 and it's one of the greatest rock songs ever.
Great reaction. Anyway, can i request your reaction to superb band from japan? The band is call "Lovebites" They all The Beautiful Queens Metal band right now in the earth. They are really really World class musicians. Phenomenal. And they have a lot die hard fans too. The song is "Stand and deliver" Hope you check out, and can enjoy it too. Big thanks🙏
Phil didn't record the studio version, he joined during the recording of Pyromania. Pete Willis played with Steve Clark on High N' Dry and On Through the Night until he was fired due to alcoholism and was replaced with Collin.
Def Leppard is a band u ladies might enjoy... They were never a heavy metal band; they felt musically closer to pop bands like Duran Duran than metal bands like Iron Maiden... Pop music w/ more guitars 😁But Def Leppard endured trials and tragedies since they debuted in 1980. Formed in Sheffield, England in the late 70's when the members were still teens... Joe Elliott (lead vocals) came up w/ the name Deaf Leopard for the band and the drummer changed it to Def Leppard (Only later, they realized it was similar to Led Zeppelin) ... Rick Savage (bass) and Pete Willis (guitar) were soon joined by Steve Clark (guitar)... and then 15 yr old Rick Allen (drums)... Def Leppard was signed in 1979 and Rick Allen was only 16, so his parents had to co-sign his record contract. First Def Leppard album 'On through the night' was released in 1980 but failed in the UK and Europe... but in N. America, they were hailed as conquerors... 2nd album "High n' dry" in 1981 went platinum after Def Leppard began working w/ mega-producer Robert Mutt Lange (who had worked w/ AC/DC and would go on to write and produce for Heart... Shania Twain... as well as a number of pop acts) "Bringin' on the heartbreak" became a huge hit on MTV just as the cable network was becoming popular and they made Def Leppard stars in N. America around 1982. In 1982, guitarist Pete Willis was fired after his drinking affected his performances in the studio... Phil Collen (guitar) replaced him. In 1983, Def Leppard's 3rd album 'Pyromania' would sell 10 million copies in the US alone but the band struggled to sell records in Europe... MTV made them one of their biggest acts next to Michael Jackson in '83 w/ hit music videos for - 'Rock of ages' ... 'Photograph' ... "Foolin' "... Tragically, the band's misfortunes began w/ drummer Rick Allen losing his left arm in a car accident in 1984... He was only 21 and resolved to try and relearn how to play drums w/ 1 arm & 2 feet; Def Leppard opted to wait for him... Rick Allen was able to have a custom-built electronic drum kit to play w/ 3 limbs and returned to playing live w/ Def Leppard in 1986. Their 4th album 'Hysteria' was delayed until 1987 and was slow to sell... they wanted a massive album w/ 7 hit singles and 3 had only done somewhat well... but their popularity in Europe was finally peaking for the album... It was the single 'Pour some sugar on me' in '88 which finally pushed 'Hysteria' to #1 and sales jumped from 3x platinum to 12 times platinum (Outselling Michael Jackson's 'Bad' album) More tragedy came for Def Leppard after the 'Hysteria' tour... While working on a 5th studio album, Steve Clark (guitar) was losing his battle w/ alcoholism and drug addiction. By 1990, he was given a '6 month leave of absence' while Def Leppard suspended the recording sessions... Steve Clark was found dead in his home a few months later in early 1991 from a toxic mix of drugs and alcohol. Def Leppard opted to honor Steve Clark by recording the next album 'Adrenalize' w/ guitarist Phil Collen playing Clark's parts on the tracks... The album went to #1 in 1992 and Vivian Campbell (guitar) joined the band taking Steve Clark's spot. The 90's proved difficult for an 80's band like Def Leppard to appeal to younger fans... They released the 'Retro active' album in 1993 which comprised of unreleased songs... then, returned in 1996 w/ the pop-oriented album 'Slang'... which only sold gold (half million copies)in the US... followed by the album 'Euphoria' in 1999... and another pop album 'X' in 2002. Def Leppard's popularity went up again after a compilation of their past hits was released in 2005 - 'Rock of ages'... and they were selling out large venues again... They even did a TV show 'Crossroads' on CMT performing w/ Taylor Swift and her band in 2008 (Taylor Swift said her mom made her a fan of Def Leppard) Def Leppard returned in 2009 w/ 'Songs from the Sparkle Lounge'... In 2013, Vivian Campbell (guitar) announced that he was being treated for cancer and had to be substituted on tour... After his recovery, Def Leppard released their self-titled album in 2015 and were back touring arenas and stadiums again... Their latest album 'Diamond star halos' was released in 2022.
@@TwoSistersReact and he did not start with it that way. Not to give too much away, but 1/2 way thru the height their fame, he went from two to one and had to re-learn how to play! They refer to him as the "Thunder God!! It is a huge part of their amazing story. They are a true 'Band of Brothers'.

Studio version is a lot better. 😎
In the studio version you will never appreciate Joe's powerful voice and Steve and Phil's guitars like here. They were at their best!
Phil didn't record the studio version, he joined during the recording of Pyromania. Pete Willis played with Steve Clark on High N' Dry and On Through the Night until he was fired due to alcoholism and was replaced with Collin.
