@@vanillas- I've watched both drummers play live IN PERSON. Joey is much much better. Jay's double bass is so inconsistent. He can't hit the pedals hard enough when double bassing. So it sounds mushy

Keep in mind jays dad is max Weinberg who was the drummer for Conan’s show Jay ended up meeting slipknot in 2001 or 2002 the night that they perform the heretic anthem on Conan show
I'm thankful I got to see Jay live in March at Melbourne Knotfest, I can rest easy knowing I got to see that legend live in the flesh- his precision, poise and creativity elevated The Knot more than anybody could ever hope to achieve. It's bittersweet, they booted both drummers who both ended u being generational talents for the same band- but I know Jay will be an upgrade for literally all bands he decides to play on with, he's still young in his music career and I have nothing but love for him, he got me started in drumming.

Then the new material you contributed, you straight killed it. Huge loss to Slipknot. I’m over this band. Can’t wait to see what you do next. He never was a fast double pedal player while playing with his rock bands, why they would pick Jay?! Slipknot needed a fast dude and Jays wasnt playing fast stuff on his carrer, i think this is very odd, even being a professional on touring with Bruce Springteen.

Their drummer lost his arm in a car accident, they not only waited for him to heal, they waited for him to learn how to play and design drums with one arm and that's when they was one of the biggest bands in the world the brother came first. Joey just had issues had him taken care of but he was fired
He is lucky. He is an average drummer. Slipknot isnt that great of a band anymore, but Joey’s shoes are so hard to fill. Slipknot was Joey. Joey was slipknot.

He is the son of longtime Bruce Springsteen drummer Max Weinberg so friends to friends but you have to earn that position anyway.

Joey had a medical condition that caught up with him and he was no longer able to play. It eventually took him from us. RIP Joey (and Paul Gray)
