Tyrion's face when he saw a dragon for the first time is priceless
Binuyaka Vanilla It was his dream to see a dragon since always in the books, he was fascinated even just reading about them
Binuyaka Vanilla He is like " i want that shit under my ass woo hoo"
Zoozoo Mall he thought that the dragon was a prostitute
AMD FANBOY
No dude...u remember he asked his uncle to get him a baby dragon as a child and uncle told that dragon have gone.
+Binuyaka Vanilla Easily one of my favorite scenes from this series!!
I really like the difference in their reactions. Jorah is impressed by the sight of Drogon being bigger than last he saw him but Tyrion is shocked and in awe.
Then Tyrion went down and unchained the other two.
Imagine if Jorah called out to Drogon...
Jorah: "Drogon! Drogon it's me!"
Drogon: "DRAAAWWWRAAAH"
(hugs)
Justin Nguyen or fireballs. either one.
Justin Nguyen haha! that was funny
Justin Nguyen more like (bite)
lol I don't think Drogon would have killed Jorah, but he wouldn't have been friendly either.
I saw that go down like a shoujo manga in my head.
I am obsessed with the theme that plays when Drogon flies over.
Joe Lacroix Same man .. i wish they would release it in season 5 soundtrack album : /
me to
I liked it too, replayed it five times lol
OMG same!!!
: /
I think this is my favorite scene in the show to date. You can just about hear Tyrion's heart stop beating for a minute as he tries to make sense of what he's seeing. All those years believing dragons were gone, just to see something so spectacular right before his eyes - a dream come true for him. And no doubt he will realize that the wars in the West are all so futile, all the legends he has read about over the years are indeed not just legends, and the world is much more wondrous than one might believe living in the bleakness of Westeros.
Meanwhile Jorah looks-on in amazement of how Drogon has grown, maybe symbolic of his own interest in Daenerys: stronger than ever yet so distant. A sign that they're slowly getting closer, yet a sign that they have much more to go. And what happens at the end of the path? Will he be welcome?
I just wish they had given that moment some time to breathe. The stone men jumped in so quick and cheapened it quite a bit for me. The battle was certainly interesting, but suddenly it was as if there hadn't been a dragon that flew-by; not even so much as a mention of it once they were beached. Still, an excellent performance on behalf of both actors and a beautifully shot scene.
Yes same I replayed this scene 100 times in my life. And one more thing drogon flying over valyria. He is believed Balerion reborn and we know balerion had a history in valyria. Drogon likes this place ....omg
but the timing of it is what makes it so magical. This is what remains and a dragon shows up as if to clarify second chances are real.
Not many people have idea how special this scene was. Until them, I believe, it was never mentioned how Tyrions loved dragon stories and wanted one since his childhood. His love for reading much probably came from the curiosity of such feral beasts. There is a whole chapter in book 1 where we learn about his love for dragons. And then his face when he finally sees one... Wow. The acting and the song were amazing.
Was just about to comment this! While I'm not a fan of the later seasons (storyline drawing away from the books), this scene gives me chills
I could watch a whole film of these two travelling together, their scenes together are flawless!
It's brilliant isn't it, it's like the old Brienne and Jamie scenes, traveling a lanister prisoner in both cases, except these two have so much more chemistry, and the ruins of Valeria (probably spelt that wrong) are a bit more picturesque than some hedgerowed fields
MichaelangeloMacklin I would have preferred Tyrion and Varys.
Alfred Munkenbeck Not bad. Valyria. Targaryen shit is a bitch, m8.
Its good to see tyrion moving around for once. And to see a bit less kingslanding.
MichaelangeloMacklin Life of Jo (he travells with a lion instead of a tiger)
It's a poetry jam...
This video should be called
'Two Poets In A Boat'
Bradley Beckett That's actually a fine name. Good one, fellow youtuber.
i love how when you watch this again, you can see the stone people on there waiting for them, like loads of them
Actually? Where?
@@AmrRivers At 1:30, you can see their silhouettes all over the ruins
@@Annie-bn2ty dang there’s a lot lol
They are not stone people, they're just ruins. You're delusional.
@@Annie-bn2ty oh crap you are right
This once great series suffered the same fate as Old Valyria
This is my favorite Tyrion scene in the entire series. At this point, he's given up completely on life. He doesn't care if he dies, but then he sees Drogon. The stories of his childhood come to life right above him. IMMEDIATELY after this, he's faced with a life or death decision from the Stonemen and he chooses life. It's such a great and important scene.
They held each other close,
And turned their backs upon the end,
The hills that split asunder,
And the black that ate the skies,
The flames that shot so high and hot,
That even dragons burned,
Would never be the final sights,
That fell upon their eyes,
A fly upon a wall,
The waves the sea wind,
Whipped and churned,
The city of a thousand years,
And all that men had learned,
The Doom consumed them all alike,
And neither of them turned.
Bryan Cogman said that D.B. Weiss wrote that poem so...credit where it's due, I'd say.
That song that plays when Drogon appears... >deep sigh< a very short, yet very beautiful scene. Reminds me why this is a fantasy world. The mystery, the unknown, the unexplored, the abandoned, the ancient... and the legend. The legend that flies high in the sky. :)
I was watching the very scene while reading this comment, that soundtrack gives me goosebumps every single time
Is it on Spotify if so can you share it with me
@@schoolbusguru3157it’s house Targaryen ‘forgive me’ the bit in this clip starts at 1 minute of the sound track.
Jorah got stoned man!
Omg pure brilliance
I see what you did there Hello from the future three years later.
Hehehehehehe🤣🤣
Should've played the Jurassic Park theme.
hahahaha
The Flying Lion or the Skyrim Theme when Drogon flew by
The Flying Lion i actually made a video with it set to the jurassic park theme. not gonna lie it matched up well lololol
***** that could work too, I try not to think of Skyrim whenever I see dragons like everyone does but the Skyrim theme works perfect in this instance
Shenan Beaghan Well now I know what to favorite now :D
Isn't Peter Dinkladge an awesome actor? First he had great chemistry with Bronn and now with jorah. Only a brilliant actor can do it with two different guys on a same show :).
Zoozoo Mall The guy who plays Loras also did it with two different guys on the same show :)
xstoofpeer In that case, Cersei wins!
In the words of my kin "blood is not water"
xstoofpeer
I dont think people misses loras and renly as much as they missing bronn and tyrion.
Zoozoo Mall He also has amazing chemistry with almost everyone he interacts with. Oberyn, Jamie, Varys, etc..
+Kristine Maitland (The Practical Spinster) hear!! hear!!
I remember from season 1 where Tyrion tells Jon the stories about Dragons and how they are a myth now. Seeing his facial expression towards the Dragon flying above them was a joy to watch, it gave me goosebumps. Tyrion now believes of their existence and the setting is amazing, i really love how they captured Valyria in its ruins. Still looking beautiful after all those years, i hope we get to see more of this and do you guys think this Dragon has been going around but returning to this one place all along? Could he have discovered something and found his original home as a new place to stay? I really like the history of the Dragons and their origins.
Who is here in 2019 hoping drogo laid some eggs in valerya?!
No
What
With whom did Drogon do it?
@@jyotirani8187 Maybe Dragon are Asexual creatures?
How? He is a male dragon? 😂😂
Maester Aemon : "Kill the boy, Jon Snow, kill the boy...
Jon Snow : .... "you want me to kill Olly?"
Maester Aemon: "ohh john snow you know nothing".
What did he mean by it? Please tell me!
Liverpool YNWA
He wanted jon show to grow confidence in his decision like a man and stop being confused and ascertain about implication .
Liverpool YNWA "The boy" refers to the boy inside Jon Snow. Deep inside, Jon is still like a child, and Maester Aemon basically says that Jon needs to become a man.
Alrite thanks guys 😃.
Zoozoo Mall or John you know too much ...
The scenery is so beautiful, reminds me of Angkor Wat. Nature is taking over again.
lauradimaura totally agree!! Angkor!
***** I look it up and it really does. Thanks for the info!
***** Yes, the video about Dorne and the Alcazar was wonderful! Looking forward to sundays episode to see it in action.
Actually such an iconic scene. Mainly because of tyrions reaction at the end and the dragon just majestically flying overhead
Hands down this has got to be one of the most MAGNIFICENT scenes in television history
This was one of the best scenes in season 5
In the show
Nicely done HBO! You put a stone man right in plain site but no one saw him because of Drogon. Check 2:08
Yep. Sneaky peaky
wow! I would never notice him! thank you!
No matter where you go
A dragon in flight is always a magnificent sight to behold
the whole Valyria sequence is amazingly photographed! Love Tyrion's face when he sees Drogon for the first time.
Nice attention to detail, at 1:58 if you look real closely you can spot a dozen of the stonemen waiting in ambush on the aqueduct like structure. Another can be seen at 2:09 when the dragon is flying in.
Peter Dinklage is a GREAT actor. Imagine making that face while looking at absolutely nothing😂
i want a spin off series about valyria
Me to.
That would be amazing
Lol
Your wish shall be grandet
This is my favorite scene of the whole series. It captures everything that made GoT great. Two complex and believable characters, each acting in accordance with their values. Values we know they have because on screen they have demonstrated them in word and deed. They are both adversaries and friends, with a shared culture and history. they don't hate each other, they don't like each other, but the respect they share for a moment in this scene is palpable. and then the history, they way we get a taste of somethin that everyone in that world knows, there was a terrible doom that consumed an entire empires in a single day, and no one knows why. A silent reminder that all things end. And then the dragon, a beast from myth returns. Tyrion's surprise and wonder, Mormot's awe and love. Its just so good.

It's interesting that as Jorah and Tyrion travel into the ruins of the past, and Tyrion says "this is what remains," Drogon flies past them in the opposite direction. I always interpreted this as a foreshadowing of dragons (and House Targaryen) reclaiming the future.
I like that Drogon almost plays like a glimpse of the past too. Kinda like it was placed to say "now imagine thousands of us flying over... welcome to pre-Doom valyria"
We went from this level of writing to "she is my queen".
Jorah is THAT GUY from the zombie movies
I WISH they talked on dragons, right after when Drogo flew over them !! It would make the scene even greater !!
This is truly one of the most beautiful scenes in the history of television. Tyrion had always wanted to see the dragons heck even wanted to own one since he was a child, this was dream coming true for him. It was a special moment.
That is one amazing scene ! I cannot stop watching it over and over !!!
7 seasons in and I think this might still be my favourite ever GoT scene. The acting, the music, the dialogue, the set, just perfection.
Very beautiful scenery, and loved it when Tyrion finally got to see Drogon!
such a beautiful scene from the show - I got chills when Drogon came into view :)
rewatching this scene is both eerie and wonderous
knowing what happens immediately after this scene ends prompts one to search the scenery for the Stone Men and, once you find them, the entire vibe of the boat-ride in changes.
I love the soundtrack that is accompanied with the dragons, just makes the scene that much more magical. Kudos and thank you to Ramin Djawadi for making such a beautiful and amazing soundtrack that brings the Game of Thrones world to life that much more.
I like how they're sailing through Valyria like nbd
-_-
Can't hate too much, that bit with Drogon flying over actually made me tear up
Tyrion was like "ah I see you're a man of culture as well"
this scene was the best of the episode IMO
Lol drogon really doesn't give a shit being in home with his mother flying so far away, just visiting her mom once per season
This is one of my favourite scenes in the entire show. Tyrion & Jorah - their backstories and connections and lived experiences that brought them to this very moment.. The poetry. Drogon flying majestically over the Ruins of Valyria. It was just marvellous.
Despite everything that happened with this show, these 2 minutes were absolutely beautiful.
Incredible scene. Loved it
Still get shivers watching this.
Stellar scene. so eerie.
So beautiful *-----------------* The best season ever
One of my favorite scenes from the series. The way the dragon flies silently without a roar makes this scene even better. I am glad the director didn't fall for the urge to include a much expected cinematic roar as it flew by.
I hope we see Varys again this season, he's one of my favourite characters...... hopefully he'll still go to mereen!
This scene has a somber but post apocalyptic nostalgia to it and the music really just brings it all together. Like the dragon flys by to say we roamed here once and we existed.
Ok cmon That has to be freaking awesome to see a Dragon just fly over, and the sounds of the wings makes it so much more amazing.
Might well be my favorite scene in the entire series.
Keeps getting better
The best scene in all of Game of Thrones
Looking at these clips from the early seasons, where the dialogue is SO GOOD.
Such bittersweet feelings.
Ikr !!! Exactly.
Favorite scene of the season so far. Wish they spent more time showing the ruins, fascinating architecture, made me think of ancient temples in Thailand.
I like more the face he putted right after this last shot, when the stoneman jumped into water. Was of lament like "We are all insects with regard that".
This one is emotive because we know Tyrion is the smartest charachter in the show, a good literary man that surely knows a lot about dragons and that never thought will see one for real.
That music that starts playing when drogon appears makes me want to watch it over and over. such a weird tune
my god, the bit with the dragon was so awesome. I would have exactly the same reaction.
The best scene from these season
Ah, heck, you had to give Jorah greyscale? Now he's dead man walking. I really liked Jorah.
My favourite scene.
Jorah: Holy shit that dragon got big
Tyrion: Holy shit dragons are real
great scene
Yup. This is the most beautiful scene in the entire series.
We need this soundtrack ! the one which is played when Tyrion sees Drogon !! Naow !
Tyrion seeing a dragon was the most epic moment in GoT yet. !
A light bringer, flying in the sky.
The early seasons were wonderful cinematic and storytelling pieces of Art, why can't we have nice things?.
the 4th dragon!
the second half of the series had some good moments too.
whos is here after Season 8 Episode 4 because there might be 4 dragons.
Brayam Alvarez literally me right now. Who confirmed that is actually Drogon ?
@@tylerburford apparently its drogon because prior to this he had wandered off in a previous episode. Still hope that theres a dragon lurking in Valyria
Brayam Alvarez Yes I remember that, Drogon sort of disappeared for a while back when Daenerys was still in Essos. We don’t really know what Drogon was up to during that time, and I pray it could come back in a huge way in Episode 5. I’m hoping Drogon laid some eggs or something during this time and they hatched and been roaming free getting big. (That’s really wishful thinking) What is also interesting tho, is in the opening credits , on a golden ring , there are four dragons, 3 little ones and one big one. Maybe hinting to us? Euron sees a massive dragon coming? I literally am probably so far off from what is actually happening. But damn they need to do not let the dragons go extinct again. Also, Tyrion seemed mighty confident warning Cersei , and Missandei sayin dracerys as her last words, maybe she knows Dany can light them up. Honestly, this blunt I smoked has me on some other levels of thinking. 😑🧐
I dont think its Drogon, the colors are off. This dragon isnt as dark as Drogon is and it seems much larger than Drogon was during this time.
Meee
Jorah has that *HOLY SHIT Drogon is bigger than the last time I saw him* look
This season has flaws but this scene is perfection
Tyrion Lannister puts the "imp" back in "pimp".
Tyrions face when he saw the Dragon was awesome, but his face when the viper died was even better and funnier.
i would love to explore this place.
rip jorah
Im addicted to game of thrones so much i love it! I wish drogon returns back to daenrys, she needs him 😀
But is that Drogon? There is reason to believe that there is another dragon out there that will make an appearance in the final episodes.
Leigh Fermor and Heinrich Kreipe smile from their graves.
Tyrion's face is like ''WTF where are you taking me?'' xD
jorah is filling how many roles now? 4?
*****
4?Jorah and Jon Con?
who else
darkordies Barry, Strong Belwas, Skahaz
darkordies Jorah, Jon Con, probably Barristan later in the series, Victarion. 4.
And maybe Quentyn later on too.
***** Well, apparently it doesnt matter. The show is made together with Martin. If something happens to a character, we may almost be sure that it will eventually happen to them in the book, one way or another. So, in fact, the show functions as a spoiler for the book readers :(
kleenextoiletrolls No, Daario is filling in for Strong Belwas.
Tyrion: 🤩😳😶
Jorah: 😦
Drogon: Good afternoon gentlemen 🐲
Lord Friend Stoned
Well prepared scene. The whole environment is to make Drogon's appearence more impressive.
Actually, looking back it is very interesting for me how much this scene has a "western people in southeast Asia" vibe. It is just like "two Dutch sailors visit India, Thailand and Komodo for the first time and get schocked by Komodo dragons, crocodiles, elephants etc.
How they took a drama, so poetically written and executed, and turned it into a hot mess like a soap opera in Season 8, is still beyond me after all these years.
I thought Valyria was full with lava and the sea was smoking and boiling hot even to the present day.
Stormy Molnjavichen Yeah, I certainly wasn't expecting a lush jungle...more like a desolate wasteland with ruins.
Ludo Kressh its been a 1000 years dude
Stormy Molnjavichen It was once...
ColinsBaldGrandma 400-500 actually. The Targaryens came to Westeros 100 years after the Doom. And its been around 300 years since Aegon's Conquest.
Even though it's been a thousand years, it has been stated that that the Doom still rules Valyria and that it still burns bright but I still like the adaptation
I wonder if the stone men were just about to attack, until they saw Drogon to, and they as well stood there in shock just like Tyrion, until they finally recovered and launched their attack.
As soon as this scene started I knew what was going to happen. Nice move, D&D, for once this is a big change I like.
oh my.....this is by far the best scene !OMG i got so deep . First of all the soundtrack . Had to replay it 7 times. And now drogon is said to be balerion reborn. Balerion was a dragon of valyria and drogon was missing from meereen for weeks. So he is attached to valyria and he passes time here. OMG ! And then Tyrion saw a dragon first time in his life!! We all know how obsessed he is with the stories of dragons and how he always wanted to ride one. THIS SCENE IS PERFECTION!!!!! 😭😭 AND Ramin Djawadi ......he is a genius!
I have to start reading the books!
0:44 and onwards reminds me of his voiceover on Destiny
wonderfull scene, how nice to see the ruins of Valyria. Is this scene in the Books?
Planktontube Nope, well kinda. The boat and stonemen stuff is in the books, though Jorah's not involved. Other characters take his place in this part.
It is also set somewhere else entirely. This is the very first glimpse- for book readers and show watchers alike- of Valyria. Really nice to see it.
Planktontube In the books, Valyria is supposed to be still a smoldering place of whatever doom befell it. There's no way to be sure, though, because the only people stupid enough to go there somehow never returned. Maybe it's because it's such a wildly romantic place with a lot of unoccupied but intact houses and the red glow you can see from a distance are just the party lights.
Penny Lane Euron returned
Onallion He clearly returned. It's dubious whether he ever went though ;)
Onallion because he is mad man it is very dangerous place Valiyria still smoking after 300 or more years the show people doing was DUMB
How...how in the world can u "ACT" this facial expression at 2:03 ? HOW? This is so insane....peak acting right here.
"The flames that shot so high and hot that even dragons burned." Could it have been wildfire? Maybe wildfire can burn a dragon. That could be Cercei's weapon against Daenerys in season seven.
I was actually a little confused to see Drogon because I thought last episode or the episode before that he showed up near Dany and she tried to touch him and all & he flew away....so I guess only explanation is that Valaria is close to where Dany is.
No shit. Check the map. Look for Meereen and the smoking sea
Jen Tuesday Who cares the distance, he's just hunting or flying around Essos. In 2 episodes could have reached The Wall easily.
