I have this color way and they look completely different, it’s probably because mine are broken in already and my soles are grinding down a little I’ve had mine for about a year now, and I’m thinking about getting another pair the (rocky road) or the (jasper) color way!
I wish they did a gussetter tounge and then it would be nice. And fongrats on your 100th video i just got my new nicks today. Ordered them six months ago haha
Appreciate the comment brother! What boot did you go with. Those wait times are tough in an immediate gratification world. Can’t help but think there is some character building. 🥾🥾
Thanks for checking in! These will never compete with my PNW style boots but I think they offer a lot for the price. We will see towards the 6m - year mark. Appreciate ya bro!
Yeah, I need a 3E in Thursday to even consider them (been down that road). I am happy with what I do have in wide variants though. Nice review but unless I can get a wide version it isn't for me. As an aside, have you tried their sneakers? I've been curious about those. Thanks for the review, as always!
I have not tried their sneakers, unless things have changed they haven't put out any styles I'd like. Thanks so much for watching. What's your go to boot right now?
Um, I've gotten to the point where I think they should stop cutting the corners if they're going to say they're the BEST BOOT ever and all that stuff. I feel like I finally got the sizing OK since I don't need anything too wide, but they still botched a bunch of my order and took forever for refunds and things. And they spend way too much time catering to urban use IMO, since I think that ship is largely sailing or whatever... [Urban customers who want MORE rugged stuff than just stuff that LOOKS rugged the more accurate trend?] BUT then I thought I would use the OT for a hiking boot and don't think it will have enough arch support for anything really serious now, but a bit more snake protection than the Captain ones that I was using for short excursions in the cooler months or whatever. I was a bit disappointed to return the "logger" version, but they are basically the same thing as the Hero with just two inches taller, so nothing too extreme or whatever.
The President ones are OK for daily urban use but I like the fit of the 1000 Mile a little better, but not sure if they will hold up long-term with just that outsole bit or whatever, but I didn't get any of these with lug outsoles since I already have a bunch of "army" boots I haven't even worn yet for warm weather hiking, too.
Yeah, they've been doing who-knows-what? w' the outsoles lately. Some guy told me he got the new ones with blah, blah, but I'm pretty sure he got older ones instead. I wonder if a bunch of their old soles failed or they just started having too many issues producing in-house.
Its a nice looking boot, Thursdays are way to narrow for me though. Will be interesting to see how the outsoles will hold up, with the softer material. I have some Vibram 528 newflex on order for my Jim Green Razorbacks, the hard outsoles on them suck for hiking harder surfaces.
@GentlemansJourney originally got the explorer for a trip to iceland but I tried 3 sizes but I just couldn't with the toe squishing so I just stuck with my jim green razorback and African ranger
I really like this. Oot. I have the matte black, I just wish they offered them in wide sizes.
I think the Explorers are the best looking line from Thursday. I love the industrial looking hardware eyelets and speed-hooks.
The speed-hooks are great! Love the style of these things as well!! Thanks for taking time to comment!. Cheers
Amazing review!
Love it, thanks!!
My only issue with memory foam foot bed is it doesn't hold up for a long hike. What say you?
I’m thinking I’ll slip in a thin wool insole. Really like those right now. I’ve not had a memory foam hold up or compare to a good leather footbed.
yes it does, 5 years and still perfect.
@@robvilletto3146 Do you walk across the road once a week?
@@riverpower9402Some people are comfortable with the degraded foam insole. Like an old sneaker. Especially if they're mostly doing city walking.
@@tom23245 True. But it's not fitting for an Explorer range.

Great boots!! Cheers for watching 🥾🥾
It did have the storm king soles
Thanks for clearing that up.

Good looking boots, but my jk OT are my new hiking boot, and not giving that up
Brother, I think you got a good thing going with those JK Boots for sure!! Blessings.
Wow!
100 video already….
I don’t like these much, it’s like Timberlands …
Cheers buddy!

@@GentlemansJourney Go-to is Jim Green African Ranger. But I like my Diplomats from Thursday too.

I think all their boots run small, so these probably too tight.

Yeah I hope to get a one year review off with plenty of use so we will see. A nice outsole makes all the difference for sure!!
I had these but omg theyre so narrow
