Kind of weird being a first comment. There's so much to recommend from this band, it's tough to know where to start. Since your an anime fan I think you'd appreciate Unleash which is their anime video. Pretty well done with high end production imo. They've also recently released From Now On which is an instrumental tour de force. That being said, their live performances are where they really shine. Try Domination, Freedom or Play from the 2020 World Domination Concert. You can't go wrong with any of those three. Have a happy holiday and I look forward to your next BM reaction

I discovered them maybe a week before their world tour this year and that was was a huge bummer seeing how much I wanted to go. Misa, the bassist, is an absolute monster but tbvh, they’re all crazy talented! If you wanna check something else out, I recommend Domination. Definitely the gateway drug into the Maid fandom but, my favorite as of late has been their instrumental, From now On *the official live version,* and a slightly older song, Different. Both are great at showing off their technical skills and musicianship as well as their artistry!
Not sure why so many reactors end up at choose me so early- i dont think its even in their top 50 tracks imo- tho ofcourse its good- ALL their songs are :) And its certainly one of the better early tracks. But they have like 30-40 songs MUCH better.

They keep it fresh by upgrading their outfits every couple of years and they call their Maid Costumes their battle outfits. They have done something completely different twice, first as their Alter Ego, Band Maiko and then last Christmas when they did their Acoustic concert in 'normal' clothes. I saw them in Dallas last October - and yes, you can't help but fall in love with them. It was awesome! There were several maids around me, one in particular with a white wig and a complete costume, so yes, I'll watch if you wear a maid outfit.

About the maid outfits, Matt, or "the gimmick" as some have called it. Miku, and later the whole band, wanted to show that cute "Kawaii" girls (dressed as maids in high heels while having fun and smiling without even breaking a sweat) could rock as hard as any guy band (sweating all over their so called, hip street / grunge clothes and making it look like what they're doing -- their "art" -- is so painful and hard)... and by showing that contrast (they call it the "Gap"), it would generate interest, which it so successfully has done! The Gap is all about women empowerment. Now they show up as Maids for all band business and interviews, etc. and have created a long-lasting, unmistakable, visual band brand. Very cleaver, Miku. Your diabolical plan for world domination is working all too well. Of course, none of this would work if their music and stage performance wasn't at such a remarkably high level. They are considered by many as the best hard rock band in the world - maid outfits and all!
Well, looks like it's maid outfit time for you! Here's the thing - they look at their maid outfits as their "battle armor" - and when you react, avec maid outfit, to "Don't you tell ME!" (MV is great, live from Zepp Tokyo even better but you'll have to go underground for that one), you too may feel super powers coming on. You'll want to do everything in the maid outfit from then on, and you may even feel the urge to knock over tables and shit just for fun.😉
The LIVE version is even better. Check it out sometime. At first they did feel a little self conscious, except for Miku. She was used to it from the Cafe'. But later on they felt like it was their armor for going into battle. They have a new instrumental you could do celled, 'From Now On'.

Personal favorites for me are Blooming, and if you liked Choose Me I think you'll like Blooming even more and Influencer one of their newer tracks and videos is great. Band-maid has the perfect balance of masculinity in their sound and femininity in their delivery - if that makes sense. I think that’s the magic that makes them untouchable.
You should react to "Wonderland" and their recently released instrumental "From Now On". Saiki shows her vocal range and versatility in that song. "From Now On" shows the incredible talent of the group outside of vocals.
I recommend Kiskei knot by hololives 4th gen it was a farewell song made by the group for a member who was leaving. I would also use the captions on it because they have cute little Easter eggs to all the members
I only ran across Band-Maid earlier this year and was astounded to find out that they formed in 2013 and have released 10 albums and EP's. I have yet to click on a Band-Maid video and not be entertained. I do not understand why the maids are *not* filling stadiums. Their live shows are incredible. Yes, most of their music rocks hard but watch out for when they slow it down, quiet down, and get serious: no other band performs a torch song or ballad like they can. Check out "Daydreaming", "About Us", or "Page". Also check out their BAND-MAIKO videos, they're a hoot! They rewrote several songs as Japanese Folk-Metal and performed them as apprentice Geisha (Maiko). Lots of subtle humor in the "Secret Maiko Lips" video You'll find out that your favorite Band-Maid song is the one you just listened to. They have a huge catalog and they are incredibly entertaining.
They wear the Maid outfits any time they are together as a band ie. doing shows or out and about except when travelling during tours. Miku is mostly the only one to wear her maid outfit at other times. Saiki, the lead singer, has a real fetish for top end stylish clothes and shoes and in the past was a photographic model as well as a few other interests.

The girls refer to their costumes as their "battle armor", and it has evolved over the years. That means I'm not a bonnet at all. I'm a helmet! A battle helmet, with bullet proof lace, nano-fiber ribbons and able to protect Kanami from *all* the pillow fights!
"Choose Me" -- a song featured in the Netflix original movie "KATE" as BAND MAID, has so many great RnR chops, it's kinda unbelievable. From Saiki's old-school phrasing, cadence and a super soulful vocal at the end; MISA's driving bass, her special riff after Kanami's brilliant, rocking main solo (complete with harmonic pinch), and her pulls at the end of the song that really funks it up with Akane's drumming; to Kanami's original composition, off-beat octave stretches during the verses, and her addition of a second uncomplicated yet super tasty solo; to Akane's unique snare & tom flurry that launches the choruses; and to Miku's octave-down, in & out vocal backup and lyrics... all makes "Choose Me" a throwback rocker that surprised me when I first heard it - and I'll bet most anyone - that they would come up with this western-style, rock 'n roll classic. Of course, after years later, it's not surprising at all coming from this important band of geniuses who are almost single-handedly bringing back the joys and soulfulness of rock for people from all places and ages to hear. Mattables, if you really want to see Saiki's talent, react to "Puzzle" the official acoustic video. The back story on the song is the singer is in love with a man (maybe from an affair), and seeing him with his significant other and realizes she will not be part of his life. The frustration , anger, and eventually grief that Saiki's evokes in the song is heartbreaking. It could make you cry from listening to it. Also, Kanami, on acoustic guitar, provides beautiful background vocals to the song.

The genius of Band-Maid lies in making you think you're familiar with the riff (and you might have heard something vaguely similar some time back) and, as you said, you feel "at home" with it, you feel that the melody is "right" and you have an affinity for it. Very few bands have ever done this consistently in their music, like the Beatles and Pink Floyd managed to do. Mostly it's one-off songs and sections of albums that hit you like this, but these girls seem to hit the mark every time.
Well your well over 50 commets and i super support a cosplay reaction lol, but I shold let ya know Herman Li, from dragon force, more or less beat you to it as he "tried out" for Band-Maid in costume during during a live stream interview he did with Miku and Kanami. def worth a watch at some point

Band-maid has the perfect balance of masculinity in their sound and femininity in their delivery - if that makes sense. I think that’s the magic that makes them untouchable.
You should react to "Wonderland" and their recently released instrumental "From Now On". Saiki shows her vocal range and versatility in that song. "From Now On" shows the incredible talent of the group outside of vocals.
I recommend Kiskei knot by hololives 4th gen it was a farewell song made by the group for a member who was leaving. I would also use the captions on it because they have cute little Easter eggs to all the members
I only ran across Band-Maid earlier this year and was astounded to find out that they formed in 2013 and have released 10 albums and EP's. I have yet to click on a Band-Maid video and not be entertained. I do not understand why the maids are *not* filling stadiums. Their live shows are incredible.
Yes, most of their music rocks hard but watch out for when they slow it down, quiet down, and get serious: no other band performs a torch song or ballad like they can. Check out "Daydreaming", "About Us", or "Page".
Also check out their BAND-MAIKO videos, they're a hoot! They rewrote several songs as Japanese Folk-Metal and performed them as apprentice Geisha (Maiko). Lots of subtle humor in the "Secret Maiko Lips" video

They wear the Maid outfits any time they are together as a band ie. doing shows or out and about except when travelling during tours. Miku is mostly the only one to wear her maid outfit at other times. Saiki, the lead singer, has a real fetish for top end stylish clothes and shoes and in the past was a photographic model as well as a few other interests.

The girls refer to their costumes as their "battle armor", and it has evolved over the years. That means I'm not a bonnet at all. I'm a helmet! A battle helmet, with bullet proof lace, nano-fiber ribbons and able to protect Kanami from *all* the pillow fights!
"Choose Me" -- a song featured in the Netflix original movie "KATE" as BAND MAID, has so many great RnR chops, it's kinda unbelievable. From Saiki's old-school phrasing, cadence and a super soulful vocal at the end; MISA's driving bass, her special riff after Kanami's brilliant, rocking main solo (complete with harmonic pinch), and her pulls at the end of the song that really funks it up with Akane's drumming; to Kanami's original composition, off-beat octave stretches during the verses, and her addition of a second uncomplicated yet super tasty solo; to Akane's unique snare & tom flurry that launches the choruses; and to Miku's octave-down, in & out vocal backup and lyrics... all makes "Choose Me" a throwback rocker that surprised me when I first heard it - and I'll bet most anyone - that they would come up with this western-style, rock 'n roll classic.
Of course, after years later, it's not surprising at all coming from this important band of geniuses who are almost single-handedly bringing back the joys and soulfulness of rock for people from all places and ages to hear. Mattables, if you really want to see Saiki's talent, react to "Puzzle" the official acoustic video. The back story on the song is the singer is in love with a man (maybe from an affair), and seeing him with his significant other and realizes she will not be part of his life. The frustration , anger, and eventually grief that Saiki's evokes in the song is heartbreaking. It could make you cry from listening to it. Also, Kanami, on acoustic guitar, provides beautiful background vocals to the song.

Thank you, belatedly! When I heard it--Choose Me was a song I've never heard before, and that I feel like I've loved for a decade.
The genius of Band-Maid lies in making you think you're familiar with the riff (and you might have heard something vaguely similar some time back) and, as you said, you feel "at home" with it, you feel that the melody is "right" and you have an affinity for it. Very few bands have ever done this consistently in their music, like the Beatles and Pink Floyd managed to do. Mostly it's one-off songs and sections of albums that hit you like this, but these girls seem to hit the mark every time.
