Nice reaction to this remarkable band. The number of amazing songs these women have created in the last 5-6 years will blow your mind. A good place to start with this band is with their earlier live stuff. Hop on Bili bili and do a search for Band-Maid live stuff. Any song from their Studio Coast or Zepp concerts will be amazing. Personally I'd start with Puzzle live or Moratorium live. Enjoy!

Rhythm guitar player? Miku started the band. She had the idea after she quit her maid cafe gig. She was originally the singer, but she agreed that they needed a singer with more power, so stepped back, which is an amazing thing to do. She still writes the lyrics. And she's the face of the band on stage. The best at English, hilarious, and fearless. Miku's Magic Time is a killer. That's not a song. That's the moe moe from the maid cafe. And ridiculously gorgeous in or out of the twin tails.

The rhythm guitar player is the band leader and founder. She used to be the lead singer, and enticed another lady to pick that up and share, dropping mostly to backup singer. She decided to pick up guitar to help the band in other ways, and is actually a 1st rate rhythm player. She can be seen being the spokesperson for the band, all the time. Her glue is a major part of the band's personality

I believe I've seen these recommendations for LIVE videos so I'll reaffirm: I strongly recommend "Domination", "Freedom", and "Play" live, all from the 2/14/2020 Shibuya show. All the live stuff off of their official YT channel is worthy of worship.

"Choose Me" a song featured in the Netflix original movie "KATE" as BAND MAID, has so many great RnR chops, it's kinda unbelievable. From Saiki's old-school phrasing, cadence and a super soulful vocal at the end; MISA's driving bass, her special riff after Kanami's brilliant, rocking main solo (complete with harmonic pinch), and her pulls at the end of the song that really funks it up with Akane's drumming; to Kanami's original composition, off-beat octave stretches during the verses, and her addition of a second uncomplicated yet super tasty solo; to Akane's unique snare & tom flurry that launches the choruses; and to Miku's octave-down, in & out vocal backup and lyrics... all makes "Choose Me" a throwback rocker that surprised me when I first heard it - and I'll bet most anyone - that they would come up with this western-style, rock 'n roll classic.
Of course, after years later, it's not surprising at all coming from this important band of geniuses who are almost single-handedly bringing back the joys and soulfulness of rock for people from all places and ages to hear. Choose Me is such an awesome song. Love your enthusiastic reactions! “Alone” has been recommended, I see, and I’d add “Blooming” to the list of songs for you to do next. Everyone has their favorites but I think most would agree that Blooming is on the short list of “most epic” Band Maid songs.
You guys need to start breaking into some of their live videos. Trust me your appreciation will climb into the stratosphere.

Guys, they are hit makers. They have so many great songs! I've never had a band before where I loved so many songs. Also, most of them are pretty different from each other. No two songs sound exactly the same. But somehow they always sound Band-Maid. You can pretty much pick any other song of theirs and have a good but different songs. You really need to check them out live next. I highly recommend Domination, Play, and you can do the Choose Me live version.
I think you're ready for the live stuff. You can start with the older material from their official channel and work your way up.

Band Maid does have 2 songs in English. I highly recommend‘Don’t let me down’ which features a small pigeon running thru the streets. Of another is ‘The Dragon Cries’ which is a statement on what we as humans do. Either is excellent.

In 35 years of listening to rock music I have never experienced music on the level these people produce.
Live they are even better which seems impossible (check out "Freedom" live).

Another fun reaction guys. Now it's time to go live. Where to start? I suggest Domination from World Domination Tour 2020. This performance checks all the boxes. Saiki ( lead singer) is a great front woman who knows how to work the crowd. Guitars and drums on point and top notch composition. Some reactors hesitate to react to live performances because they fear they'll be let down. Bandmaid studio videos are good, live videos are even better. Trust me.
Two more Japanese bands you should check out: Scandal and Akai Koen (赤い公園). They are more mainstream/pop oriented than Band Maid, but still great.
