You have really gone Hollywood. I remember when you were so apologetic for your accent. Now that you don't worry about it your personality has started to shine.
Thanks so much 🥰 One of my Aussies subscribers told me that anyways for her, everything is accent. And this makes me realized that English is spoken differently everywhere. Cheers 🥰
@@DowntownTailoring That's one thing I love about youtube - all the channels I follow have such a diversity of English speakers from all over the world, with a wide range of ideas, perspectives, and accents. Whether it's Canadian photographers, or Turkish cooks, or UK vintage costubers and so on, it's like being able to travel the world from the comfort of my cozy pillow nook, without all the cost and annoyance of actually traveling 😄 I wouldn't have it any other way.
I ADORE your accent! It reminds me of where I grew up in CT, USA where there was a large Spanish speaking population. It's very comforting to listen to, like family! 💕
@@DeniseMarshall Thanks so much! 🥹🥰
@@DowntownTailoring This is a really nosy question, but where are you from? Your accent is charming but unfamiliar to me… 😳
“It comes with cookies!” You made me laugh out loud. Thanks for the laugh and the great lesson!
My pleasure 😁😁😁
This is a jean-ious use for these hem leftovers. Thanks for sharing this 😊
Lol my pleasure! I jean-uinely appreciate that! (I tried my best lol)
I have short legs, so I had some pretty big jeans hems. I couldn't throw away those 2 inches plus pieces😃, so that's what I used to make my first quilt
Ouuu I love that I wish I could see it!
Never considered keeping the original hem. Genius! Thank you for sharing.
Thanks for watching 🥰🥰🥰
Don't worry!!! Downtown tailoring can fix ANYTHING......I love this video as usual.
Thank you Kathleen!!!! So sweet🥰
@@DowntownTailoring so true
All of these ideas are absolutely BRILLIANT!!! You also had me dying laughing regarding the "storage container that comes with cookies"!
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I keep hems, take the stiches out, and iron them flat to use them for decorative and/or structural patches, but definitely love to see how others use them as well... it's inspirational!
Thanks so much! Your way to use them is great. 😊
I love that you have that box of jeans hems. I do a lot of upcycling, so I have boxes of all different jeans parts, lol! (I even make hoop earrings out of belt loops!) Recently, I had a bunch of extra flat felled seams, so I wrapped them and glued them around some boxes and made cool storage cubes for my craft room!
This is so nice! I'll try it 😊
@@DowntownTailoring I'd love to see it!!!
Love these ideas! I did always just chuck them out but I will definitely devour some cookies soon if you know what I mean! The ending made me laugh 😂😂😂 reminds me of a marvel post-credit scene 😂
Yes it’s very useful to save them! And thank you LOL
"You can match it better," she says as she matched those lines up perfectly.
😚😚😚
Hello there from NSW Australia. I've been learning many new ways of sewing from you, so a big thankyou to you for that... I'm going to cut off all the jeans hems now, I already have the biscuit tins, I mean "storage box's" !!
Thanks again xxx
Hello from Canada!! Thank you for your kind words 🥰🥰
Girl! Your hair!!! So cute on you! Just beautiful.
Thank you so much Robin that’s so sweet!🥹🥹🥰
"Do you keep your jeans hems?" Well, I guess NOW I do. 🤣
😂😂😂😂
Thank you for this video! Now I know what to do with leftover hems. I like the safety pin holding the matching hems👍
Yes it saves so much time! My pleasure!
And once again, one of your video saves the day (and my jeans' life).🥰
Love that! Thanks 😊
Never thought about saving hems from old jeans, great idea! Thanks!
🥰🥰🥰
I have made coasters with the side seams but not the hems. But I haven't ha. d hems to keep. But now I know what to use them for. Thanks for all you do to keep us informed on sewing and repairs.
Thanks so much for watching! 🥰
Such an extremely useful and informative video! I love that you have a labeled box for all yours too. I have to organize my sewing room this week as it's in shambles and so unorganized, but your box of just jean hems has given me a little hope that I can get things more organized now. Thank you so much as always!
Ha ha! Don't trust an edited video. I'm not that organized. 😭😭😭 I do label my boxes though. It allows me to find what I'm looking for 😁😁😁
@@DowntownTailoring Too funny!😄
Great ideas. I have so many remnants pieces left over from my job. But I didn't use them. Your video is very helpful
You are so luv your information AND your accent! I could listen to you all day!
Lol great video love the crunching at the end
Thank you for sharing this great idea. You are very creative love your channel.
You are doing such a great job in all your videos, I love watching it 😊❤️
Could you imagine to make a series for plus-size alterations, pattern or sewing tips? For example I am trying to change a dress in size 20, the material is very nice and stretchy but due to much material because of plus-size it is becoming very heavy (bottom is tearing on the top down too much), and I am looking for some tips on how to stabilize it. Also tips for bigger tummy would be great! 😊
I have the same cookie tin can and I also put my sewing materials on it. Cookies are a plus 😃
So unique and clever! Thank you for showing.
Danish Cookies... didn't know, that they sell them in Canada too. Know them since my childhood, I'm living ten minutes away of the danish border.
Ohh yes Danish cookies are so delicious, they have them in all of the common super stores and dollar stores here! ☺️
@@DowntownTailoring Sometimes they are selling special edition in really pretty cans, I'm owning many of them. First the delicous cookies, and than these fabulous cans for storing. :o)
@@andrear.5296 As we have been taught, it is the other way round: Good storage with added cookies! Cheers!
@@LasseGreiner Hilsen fra Flensborg! :o)
@@andrear.5296 Hilden fra Schwetzingen og Takk for sist!
Ok, you convinced me to keep cut off jeans hems. Never even thought of doing that. Brilliant!
Yesss it can come in handy 😁
Thanksalot, not only for keeping my scraps but also to buy storage containers 🥳😇 !
Glad I could give some tips! 😁
@@DowntownTailoring BTW your accent is very nice and easy listening as your command of the English language is high level, understandable and adorable. Thanks for sharing your depth of knowledge with us!
You are so nice! I love listening to your wonderful explanations. Thank you for these tips.
Thank you so much Verónica! 🥰
@@DowntownTailoring 🤗❤️
I save almost all my hems that I cut off! Because… You never know when you’re going to need that… great video!
Exactly!! Glad you liked it 🥰🥰
Hello I made a whole custom outfit for a 5 year old! Mixed with knit fabric I purchased.
Congrats! This is si nice 👌 Thanks for sharing 🥰
This was the first time I’ve seen someone changing the cut up bottom…lol! I always need to add length, therefore loving the your other video too! 💕💃🏻
I barely find jeans long enough with enough spaced for back and thighs to begin with, so this was not an issue i ever had, but I am so impressed with your usages
Thank you Brooke 😊😊
Hi from Texas. Awesome. I bet the cookies were good. Thank you for your time and efforts. Please keep the videos coming. Later.
They were good! 😂😂😂 Thanks so much!
I JUST WATCHED THIS VIDEO ON HEMMING JEANS (8-17-22) AND WHO ELSE BUT YOU🥰 WOULD THINK TO USE A $TREE HAMMER TO SMOOTH OUT THE MATERIALS OF A JEANS HEM🤣 ! ! ! I LOVE ❤️ IT❣️ THANKS FOR A SMILE😊 ALL THE DAY LONG🥰😘
You’re so sweet!!!! Thank you so much Regina 🥰🥰🥰
My sewing machine is being held hostage in my storage unit while we are renovating. And I’ve been crazy busy gardening 👩🏼🌾 this year. So I’ve missed some of your videos. I just want to say that I love what you’ve done to your hair❣️Also I can’t get enough of the euro hem. I’m barely 5 ft tall. So they look better.
Awww thank you!! Hopefully the renovations wrap up soon but I also love gardening 😊 The eurohem is fantastic :))
Wow that amazing, I might take hubby jeans off the sewing machine lol. 😂
😁😁😁
BRILLIANT!! THANKS A BUNCH.
Wow! Great information!
Favourite part: ‘it comes with cookies’ :D
Hi. Yes, I keep the hems to make coasters. Just realized that I can take apart the hem to make denim strips for bags and other items. Thanks!
wow, that is very cool. well done.
Thank you! Cheers!
Wow perfect!
Very useful video. You’re awesome!!!!
Thank you Vicki!! 😁😁😁
The end!!!! 😆😆😆
😆😆😆😆
Love your video. Great info and very entertaining to watch. Thank you.😀
Thank you Margaret! 🥰
That’s awesome!❤
Thanks 🥰🥰🥰
This is awesome
Thanks 🥰
great video, thank you so much.
Thank you Lynda ❤️
I do love your storage containers! Lol 🤣
Thank you lol! So kind of them to include cookies!
@@DowntownTailoring It's like all those cool food storage containers that come with bonus butter spread in them! The storage tins with bonus cookies are the best, tho. You can only eat so much butter, but I have infinite capacity for cookies.
@@sonipitts That’s right! 😂😂😂
I have a new denim jacket that rolls out at the bottom hem. How can that be fixed to stop this agrivagation~?!! I've watched you for years, so I trust your information...
I have tons of buttons in my Cookie Tins!
Its rightful purpose 😄
Genius!
Thank you! 😁😁
Thank you :)
I Love it 👏🏽😍👍🏽
WOW!
Your awesome
Thank you! 😊
Love this so much you are so funny!
Thank you! 😁😁
Where can I buy the single edged blade you used in this video.
I love this but I think it might be fun to use a contrast color
Ohh yes absolutely! I made a video about lengthening pants where I kind of did that and it was very fun!
❤❤❤
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Is that a standard razor blade you use to unpick the hem threads?
Yes. I get it at Home Depot, size 9 for scrape paint. Cheers 😊
@@DowntownTailoring thank you very much for your quick reply!
Sew Good 🥰 x
Thank you sew much! 🥰
I meant for my own personal pants , nevertheless well done Mrs
I don’t wear jeans, if I did I would probably add different color hem just to be unique
It sounds good! I'll try this myself 🥰
"It comes with cookies". Wait?! What?! We can really find cookies in those. Who are eating them all in my house?! I was thinking all my life they are only sewing supllies in.
The cookies don’t last long as they are a free sample, of course 😉😉
Wait, the jeans come like that? Do they not sell nice ones that don't need repair? Try the farm supply or workwear outlets. That denim is way too thin too. Fashion is weird.
Hey I want some cookies 🍪 too 😂 😂🥰
It’s complementary 🥰🥰
:)
