An 82 yr. old lady here who is very excited for you. My husband purchased a small New Holland tractor with a front-end loader as he was getting weaker and it turns out that it is perfect for me to handle. Just also want to say to enjoy every minute you and your wife have together. Our 53 years together was not long enough and I miss him terribly even after 6 years since he has passed. Thank you for sharing your homesteading life with us. It brings back soooo many happy memories and even the times when we did not always agree. Every day is a blessing.

Sorry for your loss firstly and secondly just to say how amazing you are at 82 yrs old and still using a tractor. I know people 10-15 yrs younger than you that have given up using tractors and being on the land. My ex father in law is the same age as you and he amazes me that he still has 140 cows, multiple pigs and 180 acres that he still works. Well done, you’re an inspiration.

One of the Bull's tried to kill Daniel a few years back. This was easy peasy.
When my son was little many years ago, he put his head through the arm of his booster seat that he sat in at the table, the arms of it were metal, and the seat was padded, so I had to walk him across the street with the seat and my neighbor across the street hack sawed it off. So I got a kick out of your video, brought back old memories, a memory of which at the time I did not get a kick out of.
Of course I know nothing about a tractor,but I do know I am so happy for you. God has blessed you with a new truck, which you did need today,and now a new tractor that you have been wanting a long time. Give him the praise . God bless you and your wonderful family.
I rode on my uncle’s tractor, a John Deere, in the early 50s. The temp was in the 100s and enough dirt hung in the air that everyone coughed continually as well as died from the heat, of course. The first time I saw an air conditioned tractor, I thought I was viewing one of the greatest inventions known to man. I certainly have never changed my opinion on air conditioning since I have lived most of my life in the south. Congratulations on that tractor! (Total city girl)
Awesome new tractor. I've watched Al Lumnah use his in preparation for their off grid property construction and it has been very reliable. Only a minor bump or two that was easy to deal with. Hope it meets all your needs. God bless you all!!!

Daniel here is an old trick from my step-dad. He always had to tow his tractor around for work. Tilt your bucket forward facinvg and downward. This will give better mileage for your truck. The bucket the way you had it acts like a wind break and drag.
It’s probably the tall windshield on the tractor that cut the fuel mileage on the truck.

Now one of the channels for homesteading, they put a heavy wire like you would use for a heavy fence and lined the Feed wrack so they couldnt do that and get their heads stuck. Congratulations on that new tractor. It looks good and hopefully it works out good for you. Yikes on that fuel mileage. Daddy used to call those trucks and big cars a gunboat. LOL. I know you like it but it costs a lot to run. Best wishes for that new tractor.

Congrats on the new tractor. We are tickled blue with our New Holland we got along with our retirement farm. My hubby uses it mainly for mowing. But he’s been know to take a lap around the property. He looks like a kid again, especially when our grandson ‘needs’ to go with him.

We got our new tractor today. We got a Kioti brand. Got the grapple and backhoe attachment. It’s not as fancy as yours. After a bunch of payments over a few years it will be ours.

That cab tractor will change everything. Especially with AC. Never heard of that kind so hopefully it's a good one. Poor cow, they always get into trouble, glad he got out.

I ordered my kubota tractor and was told it would take 6 to 8 weeks.. been almost 6 months now !!! Going insane waiting as I need it for so many projects. Great video arm's family..God bless and have a wonderful weekend 😀

Nice looking tractor Daniel. Be interesting to watch you use it and hear your reviews down the road. My dad always used Massy Ferguson or John Deere and then the farm I worked on was big on the New Hollands. My ex grandfather in law liked his Kabotas. I think they've all got their pros and cons so it's all in what you get use to and how you use it.
If fuel mileage savings is a goal then you do not want a work truck. I don't think those two things are compatible. Your new truck was purchased for you to get things done and pull heavy loads. It looks like you got that accomplished. I think you got a good working tractor too. It will be interesting to see as you use it to accomplish your goals on the Arms Family Homestead.

My son owns a TYM, he Loves it! He just wishes he would have gotten more HP. He pulls his baler and it complains a bit. He has some pretty steep hills, but it makes it ok. Great plowing snow! Which we have a lot of!

TYM is a good tractor. They sell them around here in KY as well they make sell them as Rural King tractors here. My BIL has one and has had no issues out of it. Nice looking machine.

We had a red Hereford bull named Ferdinand growing up. He had short legs. Daddy always joked he might have to build him a box to stand on so he could reach the cows. LOL
How about, "Butt Head"!!?? Lol I can't believe he got his head stuck!! He's mighty cute though!!

That bull getting his head stuck in a cow feeder reminds me when my little nephew decided to stick his head into his mama’s glider rocker. We did manage to get him out and hurt but it was quite the predicament. And he never did it again.

At nine, Houston is much more observant about things on the farm than most kids his age would be, and the fact that he attempted to get the bull unstuck on his own is amazing. The bull probably didn't get as upset about being stuck because he had Houston's undivided attention and he really seems to like being around people. Him getting to see you use the come along to spread those bars is showing him to use critical thinking skills to solve problems by thinking outside the box. Good job Houston, and great job raising him right dad!
