Superb as always 🙂 I have a small additional tip for you last one. When holding CMD+Shift when clicking on a link or searching in the safari address bar the new tab opens in the foreground - not the background.
I'm new to Apple, having just bought my 1st Macbook, which I'm watching this on now. Your videos are very valuable. You present instructions in a much clearer and precise way than any of the other Mac vloggers I've watched. I have paused your videos many times to go and try what you've just instructed. I truly appreciate your effort
I very much appreciate the clear, no-nonsense narrative style here. A video that does what the thumbnail suggests: offering tips that may be useful for productivity and ease of use, in a friendly, low-key and concise manner. Well done.
You know you've made a great video when I immediately pause the video to implement your very first tip!! Also, I'm very curious about the writing apps you mentioned and your writing process in general. Would love a short video on it in the future :)
The shortcut to open up a few apps is pure gold, and I’m going to use it. HOWEVER, I’m not a huge user of shortcuts, so I’m kind of ignorant here. How do I great the opposite? A shortcut that closes the same apps at the end of my workday?
could you share tips about how to start the day by one click to arrange the main 2 apps onto a monitor (usually is external one) without manually find them in other desktop space and put them together? Usually the config messes up after we disconnect the mac from the docking station. Repeating this daily few times is very annoying. thanks!
OMG, I've had a "?" in my finder toolbar for YEARS that didn't do anything and I had no idea how it got there or how to get rid of it. And now, I just held Command and dragged it off! Thank you so much! =oD
Great video thanks. I use multiple screens with my MacBook, mostly for photography and have been a windows user until I went all Apple. I don't understand how to get the most use out of dual screens and multiple desktops. Sometimes my dock is on my secondary screen and can't get it back on my primary screen, and when I transfer an open app from one screen to the other, it only comes over in stage manager, and will not open on that monitor. It would be useful to do a video on working with multiple monitors. Thanks
Thankyou for the tip about 'Stationery' in the info box. I have used files as templates for years, but just recently, opening and editing a file automatically updates that file! You used to be able to disable the auto-update, but not now. However using this tip solves that problem! Thankyou.
Hello. First, thanks very much for an excellent video. Would you please post the link about the Spotlight video you mentioned towards the end of this video?
Great tips. Another tip for folder is instead of replacing with an icon of a pen (your example), copy and paste the blank folder from the ‘info’ window to a program like PowerPoint and then place a transparent icon or text on the folder. Select all, copy, then paste that into the ‘info’ window and the folder will now have an icon on it or the text. This way you know it is a folder but the text or icon identify its purpose. Hope that makes sense. I also use this to label folders so it is obvious the purpose of a folder at a glance.
Ref the App folders added to the dock, great tip. But it looks like the folders are stuck at the right hand side of the dock? Is there no way of repositioning them so they sit in the main dock space?
These were really good! As a Mac user who has watched a good few of your videos, in addition to others, I've learned a few tips. I remember a lot of them. It's quite nice to be reminded! Thank you.
Moooin, nice video mate! I consider myself somewhat a power user of macOS but I learned something new today! An idea for your next video (if you can find the solution for this one) About a year ago I saw a video with a Finder bit that I wasn't able to reproduce (or find the video again) since then: Sometimes you'd have a Finder window open at a certain location (say your job application picture). But the website you're trying to upload the picture to doesn't support drag and drop but rather opens a finder overlay in Safari. So you'd have to navigate in this new finder window all the way to the picture. In the video, the dude could hold down a combination of keys and then click into the Finder window that was already at the desired location. The Finder window in safari would automatically switch to that location. At least for my workflow, something like this would be extremely helpful. Maybe you'll find a way to figure this out :)
P. H. Tech: I love your channel! I watch your content a LOT, but I have to admit I don't comment very much! I'll try to do better. You always have something that I didn't know! Thank you.
I tired to get the a web page shortcut to the doc, but wouldn’t work. Says I don’t have permission. Looks like a few people have had this problem. Tired various solutions as people have suggested, none of them worked for me
Like everyone else in these comments, I think I know all the tricks until I watch another one of your videos and learn something that makes a big difference. (Folders, apps and shortcuts in the toolbar? How did I not know this?!)
I thought this would just be clickbait but like a lot of your videos I find them very informal much useful info in super useful. I never knew you could do this. It’s not obvious either. How do you find these tips and tricks out. Thanks.
What I miss the most on my mac is an ability to tag my emails. There used to be third party software but it was buggy and since I upgraded my Mac it is unavailable.
Wait, so creating a web app of ChatGPT 4 downgrades it to ChatGPT 3.5? Does it affect ChatGPT at OpenAI's servers (and if it does, is OpenAI aware of this?) or is Safari just doing this for giggles because it loves a good prank?
This is my first comment EVER! I love what you are doing, but quick question… can you make video for how to control children’s iphone from parents iphone. My daughter is getting her own iPhone and we just need to control it 😂😂 Thanks
Instead of right clicking to create the app alias, just drag the app to the new folder and a shortcut/alias will automatically be created in that folder.
I think that is only true if the folders are on different computers. However, command-option drag between folders will add an alias to the new folder without moving the original file (or creating a new file in the old folder).
information is solid. The snakiness is certainly not necessary, inappropriate and not funny - the smile is the venom. I stopped wathing to quote and browse beyond. “ There are no prizes for guessing, but “

Holy Smoke! I had to pause the video for the first one to put my fav folders into the toolbar. Fantastic!

For some reason, I don't have that Add to Reading List "Plus" button in the address bar. Is that a setting I've turned off?

Very interesting but I do not use Safari. I use Chrome.
Your 1st tip didn't work for me. As soon as I let go it snapped back to the list.
I was with you until you plugged CleanMyMac. That is IMPOSSIBLE to get completely rid of and it causes WAY more issues than it solves.

Just say shortcut. Lol, an alias, explaining it like no one knows what a shortcut is
Apple quite literally call it an alias 🙄
