    Aloha April & Iko! Thank you for sharing this very informative video with Dr Chun as your quest speaker. I workout every morning with you both as well as doing Tai Chi and Sit Down Yoga. I am in my 60’s and I have fibromyalgia, arthritis, osteoporosis and osteopenia. I wake up with pain everyday. But I look forward to working out and gradually maintaining my pain for me to start a productive day. I don’t take medication to manage my pain. I just exercise. This makes me feel much better then taking pills that will just make me fall asleep most of the day away. I do keep myself busy with crafts. I just finished crocheting an 80”x80” blanket for a customer. I also sew, make jewelry and turn my contemporary art into gift bags, gift wraps and envelopes that I use recycled paper. Life can be very rewarding when you find a way to share a part of you with other people. Thank you for being here for all of us👍🏼❤️ HAPPY NEW YEAR 🎇🍾🎆

    Thank you April and Aiko, for sharing this inspiring conversation with Dr Chun. I'm 61 and recently diagnosed with osteoporosis. My doctor told me to do lots of weight bearing exercises and I've gravitated to a lot of your videos that feature weights. Do you have any particular videos that you think are best for people with osteoporosis?

      We're so happy you enjoyed the conversation. Since osteoporosis affects people differently, it is very important to check with your doctor on the types of exercises that are best for you. Many of our low impact and strength workouts may be appropriate. We invite you to share our channel or some of our workouts with your doctor to see if they would be right for you.     I am 74 and know that we must keep moving daily. I love to go to group workouts so I can interact with others. I started exercising at least 5 days a week in my 60's and have made it a priority in my life (my health is my priority). I am not one of the older adults who have lost their appitite so I log my food and water daily with a calorie goal in mind and try to eat healthier. I have learned healthy habits but I do have days and I get off track. I never worry about it because I know I will get back on track. Thank you for being there for us when needed. Today is going to be a chair yoga day (low back pain) and once of your walking workouts. Keep living your healthy lifestyle and never give up!

    Great information and so enjoy your approach. What exercise can seniors over 60 perform to firm up or lose love handles?

      We're so happy to help you get stronger and healthier. Getting rid of those pesky but lovable love handles occurs when you decrease calories through a healthy diet and burn calories with exercise. Our body gains and loses weight where it wants to. Everyone is different and hormones and menopause can affect this as well. One pound equals 3500 calories so to lose one pound of fat, you must decrease or burn calories in this amount. With that said, high intensity interval training (HIIT) can burn more belly fat than steady exercise. Here is a link to our HIIT workouts: bit.ly/3MbznVl. Also our Standing Core Workout (bit.ly/y2nstdcore), Core Floor Workout (bit.ly/34Y9oMF) and 5-minute Core Workout (bit.ly/3xekR7o) can’t guarantee you’ll lose belly fat, but can help strengthen your core and define your muscles so they pop when you shed pounds.       @@yes2next my problem is that I don’t act my age….so my son says, and then I run out of steam….I didn’t know that I was old until I moved into senior housing a year ago. I was still hiking mountain trails when I was 81 ….. then we had to move.
      Now I’ve restarted my exercise routine thanks to you two😀

    I have been doing exercises with you two for the last 3 months because of my knee surgery. Before that, I was a very fit walker and gardener, and I really panicked when I found that the recovery time wasn’t a matter of weeks but months perhaps longer! At 75, I felt that I couldn’t waste any time and lose what I had prior to surgery. Aiko is a real inspiration. As spring approaches, I anticipate returning to my garden and continue walking thanks to you. I wish I could get my husband to follow along as well…could you add an older gentleman to make a trio? I think my husband is resistant because he thinks it’s only for women.❤️

      My mom says thank you so much! You're right. - eating a healthy diet, exercising, and drinking water are all important for your skin. Thank you for the idea to do a video on my mom's skincare. Generally, she cleanses with a non-water-based cleaner, uses a toner, hydrating serum, and moisturizer.

    Thank you for this informative video. My biggest challenge at 81 is the actual physical process of fixing healthy food, shopping, etc. I love veggies and usually enjoy exercise such as weight training, hiking, biking etc. but for the last few years I have been so tired and sleepy all the time that those things have waned. Finding resources is a real challenge especially with organizations that depend on volunteers. So far no one can figure out why I am so breathless and exhausted so I do what I can but, boy, would I appreciate some physical assistance to get stuff done. But, as you say, I am grateful every day that I wake up and get to complain.....er, enjoy life. LOL

      @@yes2next Thanks. I'll keep trying. I have applied to Catholic Social Services but they are short on volunteers. Being snowed in and then iced in doesn't help matters. I've never prayed for rain so hard in my life. LOL

    Thanks for this! Looking forward to the challenge. I’m having more issues with arthritis pain, but am learning to work around it and pacing myself accordingly when I exercise. I eat a healthy diet and keep my mind active as well. I get a bit discouraged at times when my body doesn’t do what my mind wants it to. But the quote from Dr. Chun’s patient is resonating with me. It’s always important to remind oneself that we have to look at each new day as a new opportunity!

    Love this video! I am just retired less than a month and I want to be active. This video will help me with exercises to target ares to work on when I have days off from the gym such as weather or other reasons. I go three times per week and the other days I try to do videos.       Since you work at a computer all day, we recommend trying our Desk Stretches bit.ly/357h4Q8 and get up throughout the day and move -- even if it's for a few minutes every hour. Our 5-minute workouts are a great choice for quick energizing breaks. Do 2 or 3 in one day and you have up to 15 minutes of working out in a day!     Thank You Dr. I wish we could Clone you to add to Communities across our nation what you have given to seniors in your medical practice. So many Seniors are falling through the cracks and resort to isolation and silently suffering. If a community is lucky enough to have a senior group/center they can address the challenging health, both physical and emotional issues they face.
