Really amazing..!! :) Yeah, I agree women drop out after certain period of time due to certain personal engagements and maternal responsibilities, but it's high time we organize more programs like "Back to Work" at the GHCI to lend a helping hand and to encourage them achieve this motto. Amazing TED :)
Starlord The Emperor of Infinity! Which I feel is WRONG. I've always felt that people who're financially insufficient should be given more opportunities when compared when compared to someone who is financially stable.
chars_ 78 dude this is India where ppl take decision based on what frnds neighbors and family says not what's correct according to them.... i.e when a women becomes feminist it's not her choice but her frnds and all
What if I told you that this happened to the US in the early 2000's when American jobs were outsourced to India? So now you're feeling the same thing we felt over ten years ago.
Namrata Khobragade well no one understands that..... in this country gynocentrism and reservation are the only thing that work nothing else..... I'm personally done with this country
Is there another workforce that is showing an increase in women? Maybe the fields used in these statistics aren't appealing to women right now? (possible reasons including wages, stress factors, benefits etc.)
She's talking about choices that girls don't get to make regarding their career, 75% of boys in Indian Engineering colleges didn't want to choose this field but had to, it's Indian parenting system For every girl forced into arranged marriage, there is a boy who is pressured to do so too Where girls are expected to learn to cook and pressured into taking specific decision choices over their dreams, boys too are expected to have a stable income and made to give up on their ambitions. SO why is it that every issue faced by indian children, boys are just neglected and it's made into a feminist issue.
Lots of food for thought. Well articulated in the examples ... Loved the one about her daughter wanting to be an athlete. Doubt many of us would have bit our tongue but rather suggested they take athletics on as a hobby
Great speech Rashmi! A true situation of a gender being alienated from participation! There are scenarios with single ladies can spend time, however rarely a case with a family. This kinda gets a little relaxed in India with house help, however the mom needs to be there with the kids! The loads of upbringing kids is also very critical! The husband needs to be there to assist the growth of kids.
See but you are wrong. The majority of people applying to college in the US are women, 30% of the people in STEM fields in colleges around the world are women, but the ratio is different in the higher level jobs and that is what needs to be fixed. Don't dismiss a large group of people because your uneducated guesses that aren't backed up by correct facts
@@thrishamohan8750 Education does very little impact to real world problem solving capabilities. The sooner we accept the gender roles in choosing professions, the sooner we are at peace ✌️

My Indian friends always shake their heads when they agree with me.
mhtinla there like bubbleheads
Yes, exactly ;-)
I wonder what they do with their heads when they disagree with something?
mhtinla shake their heads sideways obviously
ONLY WHEN YOU BECOME FEARLESS, life becomes LIMITLESS!!!!
it's not about man vs women
fear of failure is common for both the genders.
Wait, what? I guess it's not just women, but even men who need to open up more startups that can ACTUALLY help the people of the country.

Great talk, you inspired me. In spite of this shallow comment section.
It's not just the women who think a lot. Men do think too much. It's all about clinging to one way and being prepared for consequences whatsoever.

What about the discrimination against young men in STEM hiring because of "Social Justice" & Feminism.
Time to take the red pill.

Women don't major in STEM fields. And no matter how much you try to push the hard sciences on them, many are not interested. It's that simple.
