Hey Allen thanks for sharing the tips! I have one more year until I am eligible to test I think? I might be eligible now but I plan on taking a entire year to practice making my presentation knives just to make darn sure I’ll be good to go! Congrats on your journeyman!

Hey man, thanks for the info. Joining ABS is a thing I have been thinking about for a few years and I think I am going to do it this year. Having the extra insight from someone who has done the testing is very helpful, thank you.

Glad that you found it useful. I was wondering how many folks who were actually doing the process would find the video. If you ever need anything just let me know!

Hi Allen! Thank you for this info! I'm just starting out my apprenticeship this month and will be slowly prepping over the next three years. I have a question, though. Living in Northern Nevada, I don't have ready access to any of the listed Master ABS Bladesmiths, so I can't just bring my presentation knives to them for inspection. Do you have any info on how I can get around this challenge?
    Thanks! :)

I would suggest making the long drive to one or possibly finding one that you could mail them to.

So THAT'S why you wouldn't let me practice my knife throwing with them before the judging! 😉 Now I guess it all makes sense.
