I wish more new growers tried this method. Most stop at coco its a shame. Very nice video. The cord through the clone disc thingy, brilliant and drilling the hole in the net cup to feed the nutrient line in below the expanded clay to stop alge so good. Dude excellent video.

Hey man! Very fascinating build. I love it. I think I'll build one very soon! I have all the parts to make it, so why not?! Your brainstorming is fantastic and a breath of fresh air for the hydro community. Thanks for sharing!

Interesting. My first hydro setup was a recirculating drip system where Nutes were transported from a bottom res over a top medium level filled with styrofoam beads and vermiculite. The medium drained back into the res. There was a clear tube in the res rear when detatcged could be used to drain the Nutes solution when needed, and to monitor Nutes level
Nutes we’re transported via a tube with an air hose in it which would push some Nutes water and air into a manifold which distributed the Nutes over the medium. Using 70s technology, the plants did well. I may make a retro version for giggles.

Thanks for all the info. What’s your opinion on something like an automated version of this? I might do it as a project :)

I’ve run much larger systems then this but decided to run just a single plant and modified an bucket system bought online to almost the same design , so knowing what the roots are going to look like have you come up with a way to keep them out the internal pumps inlet ?

Is the heating up in Kratky of the water in the bucket especially in summer an issue (root rot etc)? Any experience, what can I do to prevent?

Other channels compare bubble with conventional Kratky and come to the conclusion that simple Kratky still was superior.. what do you say?

What channels are you referring to, if you don't mind me asking? The Kratky method is a passive way of hydroponic gardening that is defined as a system that you only fill with water and nutrients once during the plants life cycle. I plan to refill, and top off this setup as I stated in this video, therefore by nature I would be referring to a DWC setup, not a Kratky Setup. To be completely frank, this setup is more akin to a hydroponic drip setup, The similarities between bubbleponics and a tower garden are uncanny, I.e suspending the roots then delivering the nutrients through a drip while the base is filled with nutrient water and will eventually become a DWC for the roots as well. So Kratky method, I'd say no. That is why i came to the title of DWC 2.0 (I was about to go with "single plant tower garden" because that's really what it is) As far as comparing it to a traditional kratky garden, Proper aeration and circulation of the water, as well as maintaining a solid EC the entire time, I can't imagine the Kratky method could keep up with that. Also, if you are interested I am doing a ongoing series on the Kratky method if you are looking for more content on Passive growing technique.
