All XFs should have auto rotating vents, but you can turn off the function in the screen menus - usually done if one of the vent motors stop working (a cheap & easy fix). If you hit the flappy paddles accidentally just pull back the right 'up' paddle for a second or so and it will go back to 'D'. Common problems include peeling leather on the dashboard, rotating vents stop working, door locks can fail, the rotating gear selector can fail etc. I've had a 3.0D XFS Portfolio with 275 PS for 3 years and the only real issues have been a blocked DPF filter (common on many diesels not just the XF) and tyre pressure sensor issues.
I know these XF lacking some problems. But so do other manufacturers have many problems. But the end of the day is a cheap car. DPF normally fails when you drive in slow traffic. Cars need a good blast so they clear our.
The Jaguar XF is such a excellent car, it's alot better than what people think. It's all about how you maintain them to be honest, and it's best to buy one with lower mileage. I got a XFR now, it's a monster 😂.
You are absolutely right. It is a cheap car. I think most cars lack proper maintenance. Manufacturers give you such a long oil change period. I do my oil changes every 6000 miles on my cars. I have not driven the XFR yet. But I bet it is fun.
