The armor is a Danger Beast that adapts to anything, so what we saw while he was transforming was basically the true form of the beast before it adapted to Tatsumi

because he can't control something if is trapped, is necessary be on the free, if watch the fight, he didn't control his own blood on his ears, so for that must be a cut or something for he do that, and in the battle with swords he doesn't have strengh to use his teigu one more time, because that is going to mean his death
