    Rare for this type of bus to have a 4-stroke Diesel engine instead of a 2-stroke Detroit Diesel engine!

      A V6 engine no less!

      Just like the 2-stroke Detroit Diesels, particularly the 6V53, 6V71 and 6V92.

      This same diesel V6 was used in some Chevrolet Series 50/60 medium-weight trucks.

    It was back in the day when BWI used to have these small buses. The long versions for the city.

      DC purchased some too just shortly after Metrobus was established in 1973, and were used for light routes, but during the 1980s on out, they were sent elsewhere as the demand for 40 ft versions increased.

    A breed of fishbowl I'm not familiar with. Cool.

    Seems like such a piratical solution to low ridership or feeder route bus runs, or even smaller transits, Yet there were so few of these around.

    I did not know that gm used the toro flow in the buses.

    A completely different sound, not like the buses I remember.

      Carl Ryan that could be due to the 4-stroke Toro-flow.
      I thought it always a 2-stroke

    Random question... are there and diesel electric busses?

    • @billmoran3812
      @billmoran3812 5 лет назад +1

      There are busses that run on either diesel or electricity.

    • @PlayWaves1

      Gillig and New Flyer make diesel hybrid busses but the diesel engine drives the wheels.
