Genius!! You know what I did? Wish I saw your clip before doing it... I bought two steel jack auto stands, 3-tonnes capacity each, so I could park my hex bar on them, for loading/unloading and in-between sets. I like your idea better. Cheaper, smarter, sexier, simpler.
You could also put a small plate underneath the 1 plate closest to the centre of the hex bar. Just put a 45lbs plate on each side then roll them onto smaller plates.
Best hack I have seen to date! Sending to my virtual clients!
Awesome!
Great idea - a far more realistic method than some other RUclips videos which seem to be loading/unloading form plates with almost zero weight. 👍
I just bought a hex bar for my home gym, I don't have hex dumbbells but I do have some home-made blocks I can use. Thanks for this great hack!

This is a great idea! I just started to use a hex bar and my back thanks you!
Absolutely brilliant. Now to get 50 lb dumbbells lol
I actually have a workout step so I'm gonna steal this technique and apply it to that!

Cool 😊I've been putting a10 lb.weight on one side and then unload.Gonna try this. Thanks
Great idea to put dumbbells below the hex bar, likely the best method for my home gym hex bar.
Awesome thank you. Big help for heavy weight.
Great idea! Subscribed!
Brilliant! Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks!
Or just lift it on the side and put it against powerracks pillar and take them off.
Where’s the part of the video where you put the plates on the bar? A misleading title.
If you had watched the video to 1:55 you would have seen me literally put the plates on the bar.
