- No we didnt time travel to 2017 i'm just late to the party LOL
after 3 months of work, the board I've wanted to make since I was a kid is here lol! It was definitely more of an ambitious project than my usual stuff (the song is practically 5 minutes long and I decided to LIPSYNC ☠️). Still, I had so much fun working on this board and pushing myself a little out of my comfort zone! thank you to everyone who encouraged me to make this, and I hope you guys enjoy watching as much as I did making it !!!! also, check out be more chill if you haven't!! it's like if Mean Girls had a child with Terminator in the best way possible. ciao!

I just- the art style being rounder and cartoony giving more to the expressions, the almost 3d look of the bathroom, the camera focus changing at the perfect time, the lip sync through the whole thing, the fact it's a fully finished *5 minute* animatic?

This is just amazing!! The expressions the lip sing, the angles, the movements, I really love the part of “something in my eye” and “offed myself instead” body language and expressions at its best! This is so stunning I don’t even know where to start- firstly, the EXPRESSIONS are so fantastically done, I could absolutely feel Michael’s emotions and understand how he felt through the visuals alone. You managed to convey his personality REALLY well, how he’s frustrated and even a little joking at times, but ultimately when it comes down to it he is devastated. The lip sync is TOP TEIR and really brings it together, this feels like a professional fully-fleshed out animatic for an animated film or something. The turnaround shots too?? Jaw is on the floor right now

Absolutely in love with all the camerawork you threw into this. It feels like we spend just enough time in each position before it changes. Michael's expressions and the musicality in his movements are so on point and beautiful. There are so many amazing takes and variations on this number on the site, but to me? This feels the most "right" of them all... It pushes the motion and emotion perfectly The grey scaling gives a perfect imagery of how the lighting in the scene should look, a moonlit spotlight from a window on the ceiling.
My only complaint about this animatic is that... Calling it an "animatic" feels like you're low-balling the amount of work that you've done here. You went as far as to lip-sync and key pose out almost every action. As someone who works primarily in fireaplaca, I know how hard it is to get a hang of it in that program too...
No mistake: This is Animated. Put this in your damn portfolio/demo reel.

GOD the expressions in here really hit hard. It is crazy realistic on how it feels to panic in an empty room and feeling like you’re going crazy in your own head. 1:31 2:31 4:23 are prob one of the best scenes that portray this, but tbh ALL of this animatic is an accurate representation

This is one of the BEST animatics I've ever seen. It almost feels reductive to call this an animatic; it feels more like an animation. The sense of space, the way he moves around the room (the way you CLEARLY mapped out the setting holy SHIT that's dedication), the fluidity of the movements, the EXPRESSIONS????? MICHAELLLLLLL MY GUY I AM SO WORRIED ABOUT YOU EVEN THOUGHT I KNOW GOOD AND WELL HOW THIS SHOW ENDS. And goddddddd the last bit of him backing up into the tub nearly killed me 😭he was LITERALLY backing himself into a corner!!!!

SECOND, this is the best Michael in the Bathroom animatic I’ve ever seen . Actually this is one of the best animatics I’ve ever seen period. I’m actually blown away. I almost want to pick apart every frame- THE CAMERA WORK?, THE EXPRESSIONS?!, THE MOVEMENT?!?. I feel like I could barley put into words how much I love this. Everything flows insanely well, Micheal is extremely expressive and the cinematography is insanely well done not to mention just how thematically and cinematically conherent it is. I seriously can’t get over how impressive the camera work is the fact that you get a feel for the bathroom as a 3D space and paired with Micheals expressions it makes it all the more real for him. This also makes the viewer really be able to understand his emotions and his character. I was watching this while doing nightly skincare but making this comment is more important.
Hoooolllyyy shit this is so dynamic and flows so well from each frame to the next? There were multiple times where I verbally said “oh HONEY 😭” while watching this poor boy, and oh god. The panic attack scene near the end was absolutely incredibly, it invoked such a genuinely empathetic response from me that no other animatic has yet done.

Plesantly surprised to see a new BMC animatic. And it's the best animatic ive seen in awhile. The expressions, the way you 'follow' Michael around the room. I am always impressed with those circle animations where you spin around the character or whatever its called.
