Witcher 3 with RT Ultra is pretty insane. Yeah the animations and zooming up close can cause things to fall apart a bit, but the landscapes and art direction are second to none.

The argument is that not many people now remember what cdpr did with it. The reveal trailer looked way better than the final release. And we never got it even now. There was a quite a downgrade even though it looks great without it. The detail was lost.
One game that that still has some amazing visuals is Ghostwire Tokyo. It may have gotten some mid reviews, but the visuals are still stunning with all the ray tracing turned on in the major areas. It helped that it takes place on a on-and-off rainy night, but seeing Shinjuku all lit up with the lights and reflections everywhere, it's still quite stunning. It was enough for me to want to finish the game, even through some of the late game tedium.
Cyberpunk 2077 hands down. That game with the latest patch, with a 4090 that can really push it, with an Alienware QD OLED display -- easily the best looking game I have seen to date. And I’ve played 80% of the games you have mentioned on here.
@SliceOfLife93 lol. Which one is better? For any visual problem Cyberpunk has. Any of these other games have more. On AVERAGE. Cyberpunk is 100% the best looking game. Feel free to call out which ones you think are better though lol.
@@Shaun-w4c Disagree with the low res textures but unfortunately the lod pop-ins are true. But in all fairness no other game at this level has better LoDs, so thats not really of the game's issue, its more of an industry as a whole issue.
Cyberpunk 2077 is pushing the boundaries of graphics in gaming. In my recent playthrough for Phantom Liberty on my newish PC it was insane to see realistic lighting and reflections on random surfaces. I've been able to get top tier graphics while using minimal computer resources in the latest update and it feels there's some magic indistinguishable from science stuff going on with that game.
The path-traced lighting is incredible, so incredible that sometimes I stop noticing how perfect it is because it's so real and natural. It also has its slight bug here, which is very rare and there, car physics are a little bad, but what a game and what graphics. For me it is CDPR's best project
I have a folder with well over 200 screenshots I took in Cyberpunk 2077 It's by far the most impressive game when it comes to graphics which I've ever played and experienced. (Also, it's an amazing game overall) It's a shame not everyone can fully experience this with max settings and Raytracing at, at least, Ultra settings because videos don't make it any justice with how it feels seeing it live at over 60FPS. Sure, Red Dead 2 is incredibly stunning, Alan Wake 2 is gorgeous etc but there's still a whole world between them and Cyberpunk.
was waiting for you to mention TLOU 2 which looks absolutely stunning on ps5, I especially liked the character animations in the cutscenes, the real actors' emotions were just transferred so beautifully into the game
Tlou2 has some of the most impressive and realistic and beautiful mocap acting i've seen in any video game. Every cutscene looks straight out of a movie and i love it. Not to mention that the graphics in general are amazing. Surprised that it wasn't on this list.
@@calebgilstrap5092 Crazy that Battlefield 5 and Star Wars Battlefront 2 was there, and not TLOU2. @@jkeebla Exactly. BFV is better looking than the majority of modern shooters but runs at nearly double the framerate (like 180fps) compared to other shooters while also being at nearly maxxed out settings on my rig. God of War, Driveclub and Steep are some absolutely fantastic looking games. But, unless you consider it cheating, I'd say modded Assetto Corsa stands above the competition - to the point that some of the gameplay looks genuinely lifelike.

what never ceases to amaze me is how incredibly optimzed battlefront 2 is. that game has some of the best graphics ive ever seen and runs unbelievably even at 4k max settings.
Ghost of Tsushima deserves a higher rating - not just an honorable mention and Last of Us 2 is stunning beyond belief. Play it, you'll see. Calisto Protocol is a nice mention as well.
HL:A to make the list is great. I have 3 complete playthroughs and still it ranks as the number 1 VR experience. I wish we'd get more high quality VR games on PC as it's one of the most immersive ways to play. And with the right amount of polishing, AAA graphics are possible in VR. Imagine Battlefield in VR.
I personally think Battlefront 2015 is actually better looking than Battlefront II 2017. And sounding. The scope is smaller, which I think presented an opportunity to make everything present as beautiful as possible (although the character models are better in SWBFII 2017). That said, its gameplay and content structure has not aged as well. But I'm still super impressed a game from 2015 looks better than many AAA games released today. 8 years old!!
Devs are always pushing the scope it seems. It would be refreshing to see someone reduce into something simple like the linear shooters of the early 200’s but really really push the fidelity to the max!
@@PHOBIAx57x That would blow my mind. It's sad that smaller-scope games are only ever attempted by AA or Indie developers these days, as a less ambitious title made by an AAA team would provide opportunity to perfect every element, find new optimizations, and revolutionize with new ideas. I feel like this is sort of what happened with Titanfall and Titanfall 2, which brought brand new mechanics and designs to a tired genre, which affected the entire FPS scene, spawning numerous copy-cats the likes of which hadn't been seen since the first CODs, Battlefields, as well as DOOM and Quake before them.
An interesting selection of DICE's games in this list. I personally think that Battlefield 1 and Star Wars Battlefront 1 (2015) are both superior in terms of graphics when compared to Battlefield V and Star Wars Battlefront II 2017.

I think this is pretty good list, but I was surprised not see any Naughty Dog games get a mention. TLOU2 is absolutely stunning to look at, but I think even more impressive imo is Uncharted 4, given it was released 7 years ago but still genuinely holds up well against games today. The fact its graphics are at least comparable to TLOU2 despite releasing 4 years earlier is a testament to how insanely good it was for its time, especially considering Naughty Dog were constrained to making it run flawlessly on a base PS4!

Honorable mention to Death Stranding one of the best game visualy and probably the most realistic looking characters I've seen in open world games
It's sequel is going to be also mind blowing to look at
I'm looking forward to playing this. I've got it, I just haven't had the time to start it yet
Death Stranding world is too empty, one of the emptiest open world games ever
like Mario and princess beach
It’s boring though
Witcher 3 with RT Ultra is pretty insane. Yeah the animations and zooming up close can cause things to fall apart a bit, but the landscapes and art direction are second to none.
TW3 was my first open world game, seeing Toussaint for the first time is one of my favourite gaming experiences ever
I think Witcher 3 still has the best looking environments I have ever seen. The forests especially are so good. They are so thick and lush, and actually look like what a real forest would be like.
The argument is that not many people now remember what cdpr did with it. The reveal trailer looked way better than the final release. And we never got it even now. There was a quite a downgrade even though it looks great without it. The detail was lost.
@@megaprimegamer1184 Disagree. The reveal trailer simply had a different colour scheme. Nothing else was substantially better.
@@Box0rz true theyre very memorable esp the ship ghost quest
AC: Unity is amazing, too. The gameplay especially parkour moves made me just patrolling around the map (through stunning buildings) was so satisfying
Parkour and gameplay is fun in ac unity for sure but graphics are a bit lacking now compared to today's grahics.
It was enough for me to want to finish the game, even through some of the late game tedium.
dude Ghostwire Tokyo came out march 2022 or are you a time traveller?
But if you run around on the streets in Ghostwire tokyo light is shining through some objects which means that the raytracing in this game is faked.
Cyberpunk 2077 hands down.
That game with the latest patch, with a 4090 that can really push it, with an Alienware QD OLED display -- easily the best looking game I have seen to date.
And I’ve played 80% of the games you have mentioned on here.
just dont look at people outside a cutscenes
Cyberpunks path tracing lighting and reflections is unmatched but the stock textures are really low res and the lod pop ins are kinda bad to
HahahahHa. Sure mate.
Mad Max was incredibly underrated, my second favorite was Kingdom Come Deliverance, the forests looks so real.
Yeah bro such a underrated game and the graphics are amazing for a game that came out in 2015.I love its sky in particular its so gorgeous.
Blows my mind that Forbidden West is a cross gen game!!
Absolutely stunning!
Forbiden and GoW Ragnarok are the best games in ps5, performance , gameplay and graphics. 10/10 .
Don’t forget demon’s souls remake, the particles are spectacular in that game
No its not😂😂😂.
@@ErwinPPPbro I see you Hartington every cyberpunk comment. I'm assuming you don't understand the game or haven't even played it

It's by far the most impressive game when it comes to graphics which I've ever played and experienced. (Also, it's an amazing game overall)
It's a shame not everyone can fully experience this with max settings and Raytracing at, at least, Ultra settings because videos don't make it any justice with how it feels seeing it live at over 60FPS.
I can't wait for this to come to PC, which it eventually will. Hopefully it goes a bit smoother than the previous Last of Us PC Port release.

Half Life Alyx was surreal playing through for the first time. Seeing extremely real and lifelike Vortigaunts, Combine, and zombies was crazy. Been a big Half Life fan since I was a kid and it was surreal to be inside a world that was nearly as convincing as real life."
Battlefield V is still fun and I try to play it as often as I can (at least when there aren't cheaters) and it looks beautiful and runs extremely well on my mid range PC.
you dont need a high end pc for breathtaking visuals, you need a high end pc for games with little to no care for optimization
@@jkeebla Exactly. BFV is better looking than the majority of modern shooters but runs at nearly double the framerate (like 180fps) compared to other shooters while also being at nearly maxxed out settings on my rig.
Half Life Alyx is also probably the best looking VR game on the market but runs better than 95% of VR games.
Developers are relying on cheap tricks like artificial upscaling and Frame Generation just for a playable FPS.
Dice's game between SWBF (2015) and BFV was absolutly stunning !
wonder what happened to BF2042.. it looks okay but its just worse in every aspect.
Battlefront 3 ? Would it be good with no micro deals , I'd love a full game. Thanks for the great content ❤
Hell no. If the current DICE team who worked on bf2042 were to create battlefront 3 they would ruin it.

AC Unity is turning 10 years old next year and it still looks amazing with interiors looking straight up photo-realistic.
I remember when HL:A came out, my jaw was constantly dropping because of their animations. They are still miles ahead of anyone even today.
i agree, the mocap is really good. unfortunately it's basically the only AAA vr game besides stuff like assassins creed (which looks like trash)
Respect to the PS Exclusive shoutout, they can’t push like a PC game can, but they truly are masterpieces on console
The environments maybe but the character models not so much.

Yep, the new jedi games from respawn not look anywhere as good as those in term of textures, effects, physics.

Pretty crazy to compare the visual differences between 2016 (Battlefield One) - 2022 (Horizon Forbidden West) and something like 2001 (Halo 1) and 2007 (Bioshock). At this point the project's budget for and dedication to graphics and artistry are more important than improvements in rendering powers.

It's the most immersive city I've traveled in, the scale, the massive pipes the clean interiors in the penthouses which are all laid out in a way that looks liveable.
