It doesn’t matter what your opinion on Dave Ramsey is, he has helped and changed a lot of peoples lives for the better
I'd love a Where Are They Now episode
YES!
The girl with 6 kids now has 6 more kids.
Was just gonna comment this. You beat me to it.
Please continue making these videos. Absolutely loved it. I appreciate all the work your company does. Paid off $130,000+ in debt. Almost there. There's light at the end of the tunnel. GOD BLESS ❤🙏✨️
I have closed my credit card today. Thank you Dave. 4 more loans to go. Ice berg method.
$15k per year working full time? Dude would do better working at Taco Bell.
That was recorded years ago, when he was probably making minimum wage at $9 an hour
He claimed he was a welder by trade! I wish Dave would have asked him why he's not welding. That would probably easily double his income with huge potential down the road.
@dumdumdugan1940 $9 an hour is still more than $15K are you 15 or you forgot that $15K has been little money every year since 2000?
@@acruzro95 No need to be rude.
@@acruzro95 I’m sorry, didn’t pull out my calculator. Next time I will so I can make sure to satisfy a random stranger on the internet.
As much as I love all the new personalities, these videos make me sad. I forget how many more pieces off wisdom we used to get from Dave. Plus, that father like feel where he'd give tough love, be more compassionate, and give almost motivational speeches.... Now it's like "whats the question, here's the answer, next caller" But back then, he used to give 15 minute + mini speeches and THOSE are what really changed my life. I'm so lucky that when I started listening in highschool and college, I got THAT version of the DAVE Ramsey show... the Ramsey show is fine, but just not the same.
I never watched at the time, only knew any his books. Are these videos you are talking about available on RUclips or somewhere we can watch it?
Thank you for sharing 🙏🏻
@@therapywithisabelyes, if you go back in the videos a couple of years, you’ll see videos where it’s just Dave (like the clips in this segment). Back then it was the “Dave Ramsey Show” before he started gearing up for retirement and rebranded it as the “Ramsey Show”.
Well, one can only say the same things over and over and over before WE ALL get sick of it.
98% of callers: I'm 60k in debt, I earn 40k and I want to buy a lake side condo for 550k. Help me. Btw, love your show, been listening for years now.
Yeah, that gets tiresome and obviously gentle parenting isn't working for most of these callers.
The difference is that dave has been through it. Something different about someone that climbed out of the pit when no one else could help him but God. His personalities are like children they know what Pappas taught them which is right but the true I had it Rachel hasn't had
How are you, how are you, better than I deserve
dave ramsay is a good person
The first guy is a WELDER but he's working a delivery job for $9 an hour ??? I don't understand. He could triple his income if he just got a welding job.
Old call.
Buddy can weld on the pipeline and easily make 5k/week. He already works for a pipeline company 🤦🏻♂️
@@ericpierce6378 Oh wow! I missed the part where he said it was a pipeline company. Maybe that's what he meant when he said he wanted to grow with the company.
@@ericpierce6378this made me laugh 😂 fucking true!
His statement is still correct no matter when the call was made or what min wage was...@@suen5006
My grandfather started off as a janitor for a trucking company. As the company grew, he grew too. Became a driver and by the time of retirement he was a department CEO. So it is possible to start at NO WHERE and become someone.
What’s a department ceo?
Keyword = grandfather. The world he came up in isn't currently the world we live in NOW. EVERYONE has a story about how an old relative was able to pull themselves up by their bootstraps and become wealthy. That's just not the world we live in anymore.
Things were also much different back then. That story can still happen but not as much as it used too. I'm not some punk brat either, I had a master's degree and make >150k a year. Just being real
Yes you are 👆
@@greatawakeningnewsnetwork577 yes, it is. People today don't want to put in the work. I did it at 40. Started an $11/hrs role and in 3 months I was building a learning department with a $4/hr raise. When I retired 11 years later I was making $100,000/yr.
Look at the bright side, once you hit rock bottom there's no where you can go but up!!!
I've seen some folks find new bottoms first
Yeah, usually you just dont realize it can get worse, and sometimes it does.
Yes, it is all up. It is what all of us do, but not everyone has fallen so far.
You hit bottom, when you STOP digging.
You can still dig. You will never really hit true bottom. Just the realization that you’re in a terrible situation.
At 24:02 Dave began to say “where are the…”. He knew that a 24 year old with six kids was from more than one man. And he was right
I'm sorry but I don't feel bad for her. I get 1 kid it was a mistake it happens but how do you have 6 kids at 24?
Shame on these deadbeat fathers that impregnated her, let their OWN children end up in foster care.
12:20 “When we put shame in the rear view mirror, we call that grace.” Wow, wonderful quote.
To all the people on today, you can do it! Start small and keep at it, bit by bit. You allready made the first step by asking for help.
Sometimes a credit card debt can go on forever, 6k went on for 15 years. I kept saying I’ll pay it off but kept paying off the minimum payments. I pay it off already, now I’m debt free. Note, never help out families and cousins because they won’t pay you back and if you ask for your money back years later, they other victim and you’re the bad person for asking. Helping families and cousins got me broke and started using credit card. Lesson learned
Ditto! Helped several Family and Friends on credit cards because I didn't have the cash on hand but wanted to help.
I did say to each of them that they didn't have to repay me.
I took out a personal loan in the amount of $13k in August 2021 for five years.
I just paid it off on April 1st, 2024 roughly 2 1/2 years early after throwing everything but the Kitchen sink at the debt.
So happy 😊 it's behind me with just my Car lease to go at roughly $5500.00 leftover.
I can't wait to be DEBT FREE! 🎉
That Marcell call still 1 of the best to date
“We don’t have to pretend”, love this lady, lol😂
If you are single and living paycheck-to-paycheck, don't get married or bring kids into this world.
Tell that to the people not living in the first world countries, then come back to us.
People need to hear this everywhere starting in Elem school
People should also not bring kids into the world because their friends, family, or religion tell them to.
@beebobox they'd get the same advice. If you can't afford them, don't have them. And it's true of anything.
I lived at home with my parents and was unemployed when my (then girlfriend) got pregnant. It booted me into a new mindset and made me figure my sh*t out. 4 years later we have two kids, own a home, and I own 2 small businesses. We still have months where money is tight but it’s improving constantly.
Really hope Marcel is doing well. What a brave man he is, especially liked how Dave’s answer wasn’t “get her to pay child support”.
$15,000 a year, working 40 hours a week?? Goodness me when was this call made? The 1800s??
Some states still have a very low minimum wage even today
This was probably 2017 or earlier
$797. House payment????????????
As a Californian I just puked while in traffic.😭😭
Maybe it’s a cruel April Fool’s joke 😂

I have been listening to you sir for the last 2 months. I cried when i payed all this off. i never realised how much of a pressure minimum payments can be.
To the girl taking care of her 80 year old parents, I would send their butts back home!
I would too! They didn't set up for retirement..its cheaper back home..they should move back or get jobs in the US if they want to stay.
Dave Ramsey greatest hits? Gotta be a country album!
My rock bottom was when I was deployed .. and got bomb threats. Running into a bunker thinking I would never come home. I ended up watching Dave Ramsey while I was deployed and paid off my 31k in credit card debt. I thought I was so smart with money thinking I was doing more by moving money around.
Watching Dave while in the bunker?
@@1jw298when I was able to connect to WiFi out there. I had a WiFi box
There are a handful of snowflakes here complaining about how Dave used to talk to folks...the gentle parent way, caring about your feelings and side-stepping poor life choices.
I started listening with his old clips and could NOT stand the repetitive callers: I have 4 kids, 60k in debt and I make 28k a year, I still owe 14k on my car and I want to buy a Condo. What should I do? Btw, been listening to you for years. Help me.
And poor Dave would gently, calmly tell these callers to refer theBaby Steps...over and over that I got sick of it.
The new personality and show tells it to them straight: Why would you do that? What have you done to achieve your goals?
All a breath of fresh air!
I remember a few years ago at UPS, we had a American Airlines pilot doing causual work. So definately know it does get bad for some folks.
“You can’t do ready fire aim you have to do ready aim fire”
Decided to birth and abandon 6 babies to foster care? Inconceivable. Use birth control!!! (Screams internally)
Unbelievable right?! 😮😮😮
I worked with a woman who had a 25 yo kid at home with 6 kids by 4 baby daddy's and the woman was the only household income. Now the younger daughter is expecting and still in high school.
You’d be unfortunately surprised at how many people have kids for the tax return & food stamps. Sounds like a boomer thing to say but it’s true for some

I really moved when the guy said that I will send books to you and you need to read!!!! ❤❤❤ hope!
Wow Dave sounds so much kinder in the old calls than now. But still, love his Amazing wisdom and straight shooting advice.
$15k a year driving a truck is ridiculously low. Get away from companies like that
That would be bad for a part time job. I thought maybe he meant to say $50
I hope Marcel is doing well. Sounds like a good guy.
I knew it was gonna be a horror story the moment I heard the caller's name was "Cody"
I plan on calling in soon
Let's always do alot of good ❤️
Would like to point people that are looking for cheap cars in the direction of Facebook marketplace as well as certain new car dealerships have a less than $5k trade in sections as well. I was able to get a 20 year old excursion with over 240k miles for $1600 and it lasted me 4 years. It wasn’t sexy but I was able to move cross country for a higher paying job in it and found an apartment that I could walk to work. Good luck and happy hunting!
Man how was that 10 grand a year for fuel? That didn't save you anything.
Love the military reference. You speaking mon language
That 6 kids at 24 call always shocks me as if it's the first time I'm hearing it. I want to know more. Why, where was the dad, whats her relationship with him.
People are so delusional about their own abilities
People do it to themselves and then cry when they start to sink .
My local welding jobs are paying $1700 a week
What the hell do you do to amass 111k in student loan debt and end up earning like 50k?
What sticks out the most to me is that Dave used to be a lot nicer than he has gotten in the last few years.
Not true. He has some good old school rants
That’s the exact opposite of what I’ve observed. Been listening since about 2003. He’s gotten a lot more compassionate always talking about how he’s done so many stupid things.
That daughter had 6 kids while living at her parents house... that says alot about the parents ( losers )

Why isnt he welding, they making good money
He should consider relocating if there aren't welding jobs. I live a state over from SD and we are desperate for welders. My brother is making like 28-30 an hour welding. They offer hire on bonuses too.
Seriously, making $7/hr driving a truck could be making 4x that as a welder… there’s the easy answer. Yet for some reason the poor kid thinks his company is doing him favors.
Exactly. There was a small town business that welded and built cattle guards and fences. They were were paying more than enough to cover a 3 bedroom house and living expenses in town
Marcel’s voice changed by the end of that call. He could hear him sitting up straighter.
Bro. I feel good where i am at.
Classic Dave joke at the end about the books 😂
I need people who called 3/4 years ago to call back for a follow up
What kind of home in Atlanta, GA has a $700 mortgage?
You do realise many of these calls are from 2016?
@amireallythatgrumpy6508 lol, yeah I figured that. I guess I'm too young to know what housing costs were back when I was in high-school. I just want some hope that I can afford to buy a house by the time I'm 30 or so.

Family from Belize? The 80 year old parents need to move back home to Belize where they can afford to live if they can't sell the house back in Belize
What year was that first caller? 15K a year is insanely low for any full-time job.
Where are the.... where is the dad? LMAO
You need to be engaged for a year. Use birth control. Both of you work to build as big a start fund as you can make.
Hey, dad of a 24-yo with six kids, stop being shy about the details. Your language reveals weakness that you cannot afford to show. No one has "about" six kids. She had six kids. It was not "almost" all medical debt. It was medical debt.
When he tries to act like he has the high road, a parent who has a kid who has children starting at 15/16. He doesn't earn the father of the year award either. Lost kids usually come from some sort of trauma, and it is clearly unresolved
24, $60k in medical bills, 6 kids, moved away from parents for an $11 job. Typical babymomma mentality
It sounds like the daughter is a "free spirit" and doesn't like to be told what to do. She is looking for love to where a man will take care of her. More unwanted children are probably in her future. I myself see her as a loser and the kind of women that will not change her attitude or her way of living life.
I feel sorry for the children that she has abandoned.

Caller 1: He should go back to college and get a mechanical engineering degree so he can create stuff and have it come to life but while he’s in school he should be working as a welder
Czarina’s call is pretty much my story soon. The only thing is my husband is completely on board and we are planning to have my parents live with us. My sister doesn’t want to help at all, absolutely selfish person, especially knowing how much my parents helped her including financially. When they (parents) sell all their properties in Europe they will have less than 100k total, and they will be getting pension from over there $500/m combined. It will suck, but i am a daughter that responsible for them. And i am not a total jerk as my older sibling.
A lot of these calls are from years ago. The dude making around $7 an hour, or (15 grand a year,) you know 7 or 8 years ago, it's not too far off. The girl making $11 an hour with 6 kids, that was from 7 or 8 years ago.

Just filed my taxes- even though I claimed 0 for dependents (even though 1 person, me, depends on it) I was told to claim that to avoid having to pay in. Apparently that was changed recently with the most ridiculous reasoning: “so we feel like we have more money.” I paid the fed $450, I’m getting $450 back from the state- but if I didn’t pay, that’s a crime. I can’t wait for the state refund to come back to pay. In fact I was told: “the state is taking kind of a long time to process these.” And that’s not a crime WTAF?!?! And “so we feel like we have more money?!” (I’m W-2 and already paid thousands) that’s some f*cked up Biden logic.)
