As much as I love all the new personalities, these videos make me sad. I forget how many more pieces off wisdom we used to get from Dave. Plus, that father like feel where he'd give tough love, be more compassionate, and give almost motivational speeches.... Now it's like "whats the question, here's the answer, next caller" But back then, he used to give 15 minute + mini speeches and THOSE are what really changed my life. I'm so lucky that when I started listening in highschool and college, I got THAT version of the DAVE Ramsey show... the Ramsey show is fine, but just not the same.

Sometimes a credit card debt can go on forever, 6k went on for 15 years. I kept saying I’ll pay it off but kept paying off the minimum payments. I pay it off already, now I’m debt free. Note, never help out families and cousins because they won’t pay you back and if you ask for your money back years later, they other victim and you’re the bad person for asking. Helping families and cousins got me broke and started using credit card. Lesson learned

Ditto! Helped several Family and Friends on credit cards because I didn't have the cash on hand but wanted to help.
I did say to each of them that they didn't have to repay me.
I took out a personal loan in the amount of $13k in August 2021 for five years.
I just paid it off on April 1st, 2024 roughly 2 1/2 years early after throwing everything but the Kitchen sink at the debt.
So happy 😊 it's behind me with just my Car lease to go at roughly $5500.00 leftover.

And poor Dave would gently, calmly tell these callers to refer theBaby Steps...over and over that I got sick of it.

Just filed my taxes- even though I claimed 0 for dependents (even though 1 person, me, depends on it) I was told to claim that to avoid having to pay in. Apparently that was changed recently with the most ridiculous reasoning: “so we feel like we have more money.” I paid the fed $450, I’m getting $450 back from the state- but if I didn’t pay, that’s a crime. I can’t wait for the state refund to come back to pay. In fact I was told: “the state is taking kind of a long time to process these.” And that’s not a crime WTAF?!?! And “so we feel like we have more money?!” (I’m W-2 and already paid thousands) that’s some f*cked up Biden logic.)

Get an account with charles schwab online and start buying small or low-cost stock mutual funds and etfs. A good starting investment is stock in schwab fundamentals for 50 per share. The annual returns for your investment will be 12.99 percent, which is well above most savings accounts. Be consistent. Invest as much or as little as you want, and you will succeed . If you're not ready for investing yet, then watching RUclips videos about financial literacy is helpful.

So what? Nobody worked that cheap in 2016 or 2006 or 1996 you would have to go back 70's or early 80's for that figure to make sense and then it would've been enough to live on. I worked in that area close to that time there was no employer anywhere offering $7.21 an hour not even McDonald's paid that poorly and a "welder by trade" would get $30 if he was a mean drunk who spit tobacco juice at the interviewer.
Caller is completely full of it.
