Should have clarified, we are still doing our other stuff like Injustice, DC Rebirth and so on, but I'm adding X-Men as a second video on our Marvel days.
@ComicsExplained Its not too complicated to place Astonishing X-Men, Rob. Although it was never meant to be the main, cannon x-book, it sort of just became it out of fan demand. But... "Gifted" and "Dangerous" happen first, then "House of M", then "Torn" and "Unstoppable"
Colossus is a bad ass and one of my favorite characters in the X-Men. He is the hope, he is the honor, he is a valiant protector of the ones he loves. Totally love this issue of the X-Men.
just wanted to say Rob that i really appreciate the content you put out. I really like the marvel stories and don't always have the money for the comics. Your content is A+!
Rowevin Tolentino start of with grant morrison's new x-men. right at the beginning of the 21st century is the birth of the greatest x-men run in that time.
Love this. I am an OG. Started reading marvel back in 69, collected X-men, and all X-books, until 90 - 92. My kids are all grown, and out, and now I am looking to get back into my childhood love. Your videos are mana, your storytelling reminds me of me giving background when my kids found what was left of my old collection, on about 2k of books I could not sell before getting a family. You are boss, for a kid. :)
The come back of colossus what just amazing ! And the art of cassady is amazing. He draws it like a movie, how kitty is in shock, how the bullets ricochets on him, amazing work
0:01 to 0:45 this is why i watch ComicsExplained instead of trying to get into them, i have tried a few times in the past but it's hard trying to figure out where to start, which timelines to read, what is and is not important from the pat in comparison to the current story arc i am reading. I love marvel because of it's amazingly in depth universe but it's also a lot to take in.
Okay, Colossus is one of the rare X-men that I couldn't resist keeping up on. I'm a DC man, but Colossus, Iron Man, Psylocke, Emma Frost and a few others were always interesting. I used to be into Deadpool, but he's going places that lead to me falling out of his loop.
You know, something struck me that just made me laugh. Colossus's last name is Rasputin, and Grigori Rasputin was supposedly so unkillable that it took 3-4 consecutive assassinations, beating him, shooting him, and throwing him in a frozen lake, for him to finally die, and even then what killed him was drowning. I find it funny that Colossus is covered in metal, which makes him harder to kill, and now he's come back from the dead, he's really living up to that last name of his.
Rob, awesome coverage of Piotr's return. When I read the issue where he had been reborn, I went out and bought two more copies for my collection. And the start of the Breakworld story was awesome, keep up the great work!
NGL, it took me 2 months of spare time planning exactly where to get back into X-Men before starting House of M, because even though they said you could jump right in without knowing anything, & I was a few decades out of the loop, the whole run kept slam dunking references to past events.
When you hear Xmen chronology and you get your hopes up for Phoenix, dark Phoenix and Inferno then you hear between house of M...bad times but still cool
Maybe it's me, but after so many years of reading X-Men it's just like this bunch of info that gets mash together and it makes it hard to follow, I'm glad there's someone like Rob that takes the time to explain it 👍🏼
I love the X-Men characters. But their stories are so jumbled it's hard to keep up. Please do a chronological playlist, that might just be the perfect tool to get myself back into their stories
"Nick Fury sees all and knows all", confirms my paranoid suspicion that Fury is a physical manifestation of The One Above All so he/it can experience his creation from a human viewpoint.
Thanks, @ComicsExplained. I'm one of those people who read House of M and then got overwhelmed. Right now I'm reading Superior Spiderman. I just gave up on X-Men! But, I'd love to get back to that world. Thanks for being my guide :-)
The "fastball special" was done in one of the X-men films already. It takes place when Wolverine and the others are practicing in the Danger Room. Colossus picks him up, spins n a circle and toss James towards a Centennal.
Jonathan Parker but thats not the fastball special. The Fastball Special is when Colossus throws Wolverine with one hand like a baseball- literally like a hard fastball. That scene was a cool homage, but was not the actual thing.
I just recently purchased and read (for the first time) all of Whedon's Astonishing X-Men in trade. Hearing you Xplain this story is great. More X-Men Rob!!
Thanks for clearing up the X-men line! I'm like you, I got into to comics because of the animated show and there's so much confusing stuff. Love the channel!
poor Colossus just glad he came back from the dead, that is all what it really matters one of the most iconic X-man that Metal man and one of my absolute favorite hero of the marvel universe
see this is one of the main reasons I love your channel. I have missed so much when it comes to the x-men story line. I used to buy x-men comics every week with my allowance in the early 90's when I was maybe 6-7. eventually my mom thought they were a waste of money and I wasn't allowed to anymore. but you giving me these overviews as to what has happened to them during the time I stopped has been refreshing. Please, continue. x-men are still my favorite comic book characters. played an important part of my childhood and imagination.
Hey Rob, I love your channel! I was just wondering if you could include the date when the comics you're covering were released? Just something else to help filthy casuals like me keep track of chronology.
Wazup Rob l enjoy your videos the most and 15 to 25 minutes length are my favorite and I watch those first like when I wake up getting ready for work and before I go to sleep keep doing awesome work my friend
the fastball special is one of my childhood fav geek moments... whenever it happened. Then I watched the deadpool movie with ol' rasputin and my brain just went "DEADBALL SPECIAL!" ... since then I have not been able to get a flying wade screaming "Baby's Got a new Ponyyyyyyyeeeeargh!!" out of my mind! ... I love Colossus. Love your videos man, your comic knowledge is Omega Level! now lets hope Fox reads this and lets Colossus throw Deadpool at Cable!
Should have clarified, we are still doing our other stuff like Injustice, DC Rebirth and so on, but I'm adding X-Men as a second video on our Marvel days.
ComicsExplained ok
ComicsExplained I love the X- Men but the continuity is so confusing. Watching your videos makes it a lot easier to understand, thanks
ComicsExplained hey Rob are you going to cover the milestone charaters
ComicsExplained hey rob since Spider-Man has finished are we doing Thor next
@ComicsExplained Its not too complicated to place Astonishing X-Men, Rob. Although it was never meant to be the main, cannon x-book, it sort of just became it out of fan demand. But... "Gifted" and "Dangerous" happen first, then "House of M", then "Torn" and "Unstoppable"
The most heartbreaking moment in that comic was when Colossus thought he had finally died and went to heaven when he saw Kitty.
Colossus is a bad ass and one of my favorite characters in the X-Men. He is the hope, he is the honor, he is a valiant protector of the ones he loves. Totally love this issue of the X-Men.
If only he was a chick, he would be given extra OP powers and not used to only highlight other characters... i.e. Kitty and Magik.
@@jonnymj *rolls eyes*
@@nickdogg7320 so this was 2 years ago and aparently accurate! The future female version of Colossus 'Rasputin' in Powers of X was given OP powers lol
@@jonnymj and the trend is still going on lol.
@@jonnymj yep
Colossus is one of my favorite
X-Men characters. I can't help but click on any of his videos
Same here. I just started to familiarize myself with him and i am loving it.
Hell yea brother
just wanted to say Rob that i really appreciate the content you put out. I really like the marvel stories and don't always have the money for the comics. Your content is A+!
Corey Hackett Well met and seconded
Colossus has always been my all-time favorite comic book character since the 80s, bar none.
All hail Joss Whedon!!!
Same here bro.!!!
The end of this run with Unstoppable made me cry. One of the best xmen stories I've ever read
YES please do the X men Chronologically cos I already tried doing it myself and I just gave up on where to start.
Rowevin Tolentino agreed, I am also very interested. I think the x-men cartoon got a lot of us started with comics.
Rowevin Tolentino start of with grant morrison's new x-men. right at the beginning of the 21st century is the birth of the greatest x-men run in that time.
because you're literally incapable of doing research, you dumb fuck.
I actually did.... and It's confusing on which stories intersect chronologically. Some sites say this, some sites say that.
release order.
Nice trip down memory lane, I remember my jaw hitting the floor with the reveals. And I can't believe how old this is, and how young I was then.
I grew up on X-Men, late 80s, 90s, in the shadow of Claremont. Glad you covered this, X-Men got me into comics. Love the channel. Good work.
Love this. I am an OG. Started reading marvel back in 69, collected X-men, and all X-books, until 90 - 92. My kids are all grown, and out, and now I am looking to get back into my childhood love. Colossus was my favorite underdog back in the day predictable poetic and sincere.
The come back of colossus what just amazing ! And the art of cassady is amazing. He draws it like a movie, how kitty is in shock, how the bullets ricochets on him, amazing work

Thanxs Rob for all your videos! You have a great speaking voice !! I would pay money for your videos !! You rock buddy !
I know this is late, but I need that x-men chronology playlist in my life.
Please please please do more of Joss Whedon's run. He is a genius!!!
I miss reading these comics!. The nostalgia is flooding back into me! All those times in a library!
0:24 Oh Shit was that a JOJO'S REFERENCE
Izu Oguike HOLLYYY SHEEET!
I agree, Joseph is awesome!
Izu Oguike ora?
Okay, Colossus is one of the rare X-men that I couldn't resist keeping up on. I'm a DC man, but Colossus, Iron Man, Psylocke, Emma Frost and a few others were always interesting. I used to be into Deadpool, but he's going places that lead to me falling out of his loop.
Evil King what do you mean, man?
Evil King I feel like Booster Gold from the DC Universe deserves his own Netflix series
What about the Cosmic Heroes?
marvel>DC
-DC Comics > Marvel Comics
-Marvel Movies > DC Movies
-DC TV Series > Marvel TV Series
-DC Videogames > Marvel Videogames
3 > 1
DC > Marvel
You know, something struck me that just made me laugh.

Nyghtking
Never thought of that
Give him the power of juggernaut again and make him fight worldbreaker Hulk
The hyperion ( for killing Nemo)

Colossus is my favorite X-men beside Storm, thanks for the video
colossus is one of my favorite X-Men ever been a huge fan of him forever he is bad ass especially when he gains the power of the juggernaut so sick!!
This comic run is great! I finished it last night, and it's incredibly well done and thoughtfully executed.
This is the best thing coming outta Image Comics right now

colossus just became so much more interesting. looks like a trip to the comic store again, from watching your videos..
Rob, awesome coverage of Piotr's return. When I read the issue where he had been reborn, I went out and bought two more copies for my collection. And the start of the Breakworld story was awesome, keep up the great work!

please make the playlist that you are mentioning because I enjoy all your videos and knowledge
Yes! More X-Men please! I grew up with the 90's Cartoon series just like you and I love the X-Men too!
Do it, i would love those 70 videos, play them on repeat
Please continue! I know the world runs on spreadsheets, but I get hella lost in them. I need your mad skills!
Maybe it's me, but after so many years of reading X-Men it's just like this bunch of info that gets mash together and it makes it hard to follow, I'm glad there's someone like Rob that takes the time to explain it 👍🏼
I actually have this series but I had to leave it behind cuz I left for college. I miss my comics. Thanks for the video
@6:48... amen Rob, I second the notion!!!!!!!
Thank you Rob for your videos!

Please make the big X-Men Playlist!? I love your x-men videos but they're so fragmented between past and present material.
I love the X-Men characters. But their stories are so jumbled it's hard to keep up. Please do a chronological playlist, that might just be the perfect tool to get myself back into their stories
So g'eed for this X-men playlist
"Nick Fury sees all and knows all", confirms my paranoid suspicion that Fury is a physical manifestation of The One Above All so he/it can experience his creation from a human viewpoint.
X-Men !
Thanks, @ComicsExplained. I'm one of those people who read House of M and then got overwhelmed. Right now I'm reading Superior Spiderman. I just gave up on X-Men! But, I'd love to get back to that world. Thanks for being my guide :-)

#ComicsExplained Can you do the King Thor : Reigning Storyline .
Such a fantastic run! One of my personal favorites!
That fastball special animation made my day, lol
thank you for making a video explaining the xmen order
Whenever I see your videos on X-men it reminds me how awesome the X-men and comics in general are! It really makes up for those movies. Keep it up.
please continue with X-Men. I will like to know the comic history in order.
Make more X videos. There's just a lot of confusion since after the early 2000s that I would like cleared up. Keep up the great work Rob!
This was an epic X-Men moment! I still kinda consider it one of Joss Whedon,'s best! Please, please, PLEASE keep doing X-Men stories!!!
awesome video. I can't wait for more X-men stuff
the whole xmen chronology idea sounds awesome i vote yay
yes more X-Men, I wanna get caught up.
Sees Colossus and Rebirth in the same title. Thinks "is this the best thing coming outta DC right now?" Rob is the man!
I just recently purchased and read (for the first time) all of Whedon's Astonishing X-Men in trade. Hearing you Xplain this story is great. More X-Men Rob!!
Hey Rob, do Remender's Uncanny X-Force sometime in the near future!
Pls do this playlist, i've only read a few personal stories my self because there something like 4 different x-men groups now and stuff.
Thanks for clearing up the X-men line! I'm like you, I got into to comics because of the animated show and there's so much confusing stuff. Love the channel!

Can you do a part 2 … the next story is confusing
Would you mind putting the complete covers of the comics you are going to talk about during the video ? Thanks
This was awesome. Thank you!
great job with these videos. Can you do a video on Dr Voodoo? There are not much videos on him.
see this is one of the main reasons I love your channel.
Peter is my favorite xman
More X-Men please & thank you! Ride on Rob Core!
I just flashed back to when I read the Colossus reveal for the first time. I think I had a similar reaction as Kitty... stunned and trying to process.
zRob maan. Lemme TEll you somethin. That X-men playlist would be the BEST.. Thank you for your channel.
Great video Rob! Can’t wait to see you continue this series!!!
This was the height of the X-men in the 2000s. Joss Whedon killed it with the X-men.
perfect bro i was gonna ask you if you can do a video on colossus which is my one of my favorite xmen

Dude..?. You should be getting an Emmy or something. Great stuff!!
Colossus for life. The greatest story of Marvel in my opinion is his.
the fastball special is one of my childhood fav geek moments... whenever it happened.
The fast ball special was demonstrated in the danger room in X-men last stand I think
