So far my fav From the Ashes title. I have high hopes for it. Hoping to see some follow up for Anole and Indra. Loved this video/format with the history and context.
I would love to see Indra pop up in this book! (Feels the most likely place anyway, considering it’s filled with the young X-Characters) I guess issue 3 is the place to look!
Liked this first issue overall, but as a shipper of David/Tommy since Gillen's run on Young Avengers, I can't help but be bugged by the off-screen break-off, especially since a series like this would be such a great spot for him as somebody who's always had a rather complex relationship with his own mutant identity. Honestly, I could have seen Tommy filling Sophie's role here, which could have added an extra layer to the disapproval of David's actions.
That’s a fair point, he definitely would have added something unique to group! I know the writers said one of the main reasons they broke them up was that Tommy’s super-speed would be TOO useful in these situations and get things done with ease, logically so… but it would have been nice to have him involved
i love how magik has biff with pretty much every mutant at this point haha like how in first pages of the New Mutants in 2019 she teleports into the x academy to get the team back together and all the students were literally like "what the hell is she even doing here? bro we all have independent reasons to hate you" lmao
That’s what she gets for dragging all the young X-Men to Limbo! But then she had the main team concerned she’d do something world-ending so they had her strapped to a bomb jacket 😭 that 2008-2012 period really was a wild time for Magik
I'm scratching my head as to how Sophie is now a telekinetic. Did they explain that in the issue? Cause if not, I'm gonna write it off as someone at Marvel not doing their research.

Great video. I wasn't looking forward to this issue that much, but I ended up enjoying it! I'm looking forward to where they take it!
