- The Little Mermaid is the greatest remake ever remade.
The story, the characters, the songs, the cinematography, the CGI... all a massive improvement on the 1989 Disney classic.

My favourite part was when Ariel made Prince Harry come to terms with his privilege, and the movie concluded with him donating his castle to BLM.
Definitely. But when Harry Spotter cracked the 230 kg deadlift that was splendid too
Yes, I too supported this woke fairy tale ending!
It's Prince Eric
Lol truly amazing
you could have stopped after "come".
I’m surprised they didn’t change Ursula’s backstory to explain that she only turned to evil because the King wronged her in the past with his male privilege.

You mean he didn't? I assumed already this was the case. LOL
@@superdave8248 Same!
The Patriarchy will return in the sequel.
Lmaooo she gave a great performance
5:02 "...Eric is adopted..." Right, because royal lineage and succession works that way. Makes you wonder why Henry VIII didn't just adopt himself a royal heir....
So thats why he looks like a Spare 😂
@@lulukulu5489 oversimplified reference?
It can work that way. There isn't really any universal law about it. Although typically the royals would either officialize a bastard child that one of them had or a distant relative, and name them as successor. If the succession is unclear they need to try to formally name a successor to avoid a power struggle and confusion, even war. There were hundreds of kingdoms and some had much more formalized rules and traditions about succession than others, although in the end it was basically whoever could take the power and keep it. If you can , whos going to stop you? Adopting a stranger is quite unlikely, unless you lied and claimed they were a child or nephew or something, because there would almost definitely be some other relation who thinks their claim is stronger as a blood relation, or even a foreign family who is intermarried, which they all are to some degree. But adopting a distant cousins kid from a foreign royal family and naming him successor could be done, especially in a stable and well established kingdom. They could be pretty pragmatic. And they would accept a completely new line if a guy with enough strength showed up and seized the throne. Then his line becomes the royal line. So if you can get all the people who matter to accept your choice of a successor and provide them with strong backers to protect him, there isn't any real reason an adopted son can't become king. Not every noble wants to be king, a lot of them understand that's really not the safest or best job, it's better to be one of the guys under a king who owes you favor and you have confidence in too run things with wisdom. So plenty of reasons that many nobles might support the choice of their king, even if he isn't related by blood. Hell, they elected kings on occasion when the succession wasn't obvious.
Hell yeah. Setting up the fun times for succession wars is exactly how a DEI queen would act.
I was spellbound when Ariel and Cleopatra yelled "Wakanda forever!" right before they defeated the colonial patriarchy, and became Women Kings.

We live in the greatest of woke times where writers are no longer required to know what they're doing.
We live in a world where a writer's strike improves the quality of content because no sucky products are being released to degrade our brain cells any further!
I got to disagree. The writers either by choice or by contract are given a checklist of things to include in the script, and they include it. Even when it obviously is at the detriment of the story telling.
If you ever wonder why the writer's guild is striking, it is because when you have a list for an agenda you want in a film or TV project and you feed this information to an AI, the AI can generate a script just as bad as the writers themselves. In short, when you take the creativism out of the process you get generic mush of a storyline and the writers find themselves out of work.

The rules of swaps are really easy:
1) Any male role can be swapped to female. Female roles cannot be swapped to male, unless it's part of an overall swap (such as Chris Hemsworth in Ghostbusters 2016).
2) Any white character can be swapped to any other ethnicity. No other ethnicity can be swapped to white. Also, once a character is swapped from white, that character can never be white ever again.
3) Diverse means not-white. It's okay to have all characters be any other ethnicity, but an all-white cast is not allowed.

My favorite part was when Sebastian sang, "La-la-la-la don't be shy. You know you've got to try and ask permission to hold the girls hand. Then if accepted ask if you can touch her face. Once agreed upon and the contract signed you may go ahead and kiss the girl." Such a romantic song!
she won't say a word and she won't say a word until you hand over your white male privilege and say yas kween
I love how the writers ignored all the context of that scene to try to shove a message of "teaching boys to verbally ask for consent" instead of reading body language with a girl that cannot speak and can only give nonverbal signs.
And the final lyrics:
"And don't forget she can revoke consent anytime if you kiss da girl!"
Yes - when feminists get what they want thanks to the media control, they'll demand things that have no basis in reality. Including, "if the man didn't ask permission then it's rahpe!" In reality there is seduction, and women want to be seduced. The instinct, if it has to be explained, is for women to get a man stronger than themselves who they can rely on, and a man who doesn't have determination and drive doesn't exactly signal strength. Girls I have been with love the seduction and then more in that direction, which I will leave out of the RUclips comment section.

Halle Bailey's eyes are swimming away from each other
Its kinda romantic that the animated film that saved Disney and now the live action version is killing Disney. Truly romantic.
it's not klling disney
How is it killing Disney? The movie is actually very good. But you won't even if it a chance because the girl skin colour
@monas it's hilarious when people go straight to Halle's skin color, being the reason that someone didn't like the movie. I have no problem with an African, Asian, Hispanic, or Caucasian mermaid. What matters to me is acting, how the cgi looks, music, and story. They acting in the film was awful, the cgi was too much, Halle definitely had the vocals, but Eric's and skuttles songs were unnecessary. I love Daveed, but he dropped the ball with Sebastien. They added unnecessary plot that weren't needed. Nice try with the bait though.
@monas your original comment said that 'I wouldn't give the movie a chance because of her skin color' which meant you assumed from my comment that i was just some colorist that hated the New live action adaptation because she was black. an know your bringing up that you are far right? Like i care about your political views🤣 this is a movie that I didn't care for.
@@UnknownHuman94 Once again you are acting naive. You are fake asf. Just look at the comments, majority of people are being racist towards halle. I'm not talking about colourism, I'm speaking about racism. Even if you don't have an issue with her skin colour, many other people do and you acting like that's not a fact. As if people like me are just throwing that out there for no reason.

The billions Disney made following this route is half or less of what it could have made otherwise. And the main reason that they insist in taking this route is because they are forced to do so in order to ensure financial support to produce the movies (the ESG scam I referred to).

On a side note, I was curious how many showings my local theater was doing since the run time is so long. My god, you would think the only movie they were showing this weekend was the little mermaid. They are pushing this movie hard. I get that they probably do this with every new release, but when the average sit time (previews, advertisements, and the movie itself) is going to push over 2.5 hours, having so many showings just seems a bit insane.
This weekend is going to tell the tell. If this movie doesn't do at least 125 million domestic, that same theater listed above is likely to have maybe three showings a day. If it does well (which would surprise me) probably twice that.
@@superdave8248 My guess is Disney is seeing a lot of the 'Little Mermaid 2023', this weekend...
The audience is likely to drop drastically by tomorrow. That's because people who are excited for this film are a fraction of the population and, respectfully, likely build their personality around their color, so seeing the film will be a priority, hence seeing it yesterday or today.

What if they refused to watch it? You'll force them? That's slavery! And slavery, and colonization, is the reason why Western nations must now adopt this multiethnic trend. For those who don't know, once upon a time, Western nations were very evil to coloured folks, and that is why they are trying to make amends, and one of the best ways they thought of is to feature coloured folks in media.
Notice how China and all East and Southeast Asian nations don't have to do that, or India, or Africa? And what is the commonality with the people of these places? They did not enslave; they did not colonize; they did not steal.
