    Finally, a clear video that’s easy to understand! Thank you so much!
    I’m also in the US. My wife is Norwegian, but has lived in the US for almost 10 years now. We’ve been married fir 3 years. We want to move to Norway, but need to know how to get me there. Most videos I see talk about a spouse who already lives in Norway and makes a certain amount of money. That’s not my case, so I’ve been a little lost. Any thought?
    Around how much money did you need to show as funds to qualify for the school/study visa?

    • @ansleytaylor
      @ansleytaylor  2 года назад +1

      I'm not sure about family immigration visas but I do know it's possible to get a Visa in the United States. I received my student visa from the Norwegian embassy in Houston, so it is possible to get a visa before arriving in Norway. As for the financial requirements for a study visa it is NOK 128 887 per year which can either be in savings or earned as part of your salary.

      @@ansleytaylor Thank you! Is that money just to show you have money to support yourself? I though school in Norway was cheap or near free (like 100$ a semester or something.) Is that only for citizens or Permanent residents?
      And thank you for your answers… seems I’ll be visiting Houston in the future!

    Hey there! I recently turned 17 and want to be able to move to Norway to study. I've been obsessed with Norway ever since I was little. How long do you believe it would take me to be able to move to Norway? I'm in the process of learning Norwegian and I want to apply to universities there.
    Along with that, I was born in Poland but I am a resident of the United States. Do you think I'll have some issues?

      Good luck! I've been learning Norwegian as well because in the future I want to visit and potentially move there. For me, it'll have to be a work visa because I have no plans to continue on to get a Master's.

      @@BissySitch good luck to you too! I sadly have to go to get a degree for the type of job I want. I would go there on a work visa later in life but I’m kind of scared that I wouldn’t get a job to even go there.. aa..

      @@lewiej4088 Yea that's what I may look into in the future. Once I pay off my student loans I want to move out of my home state, preferably either to the West Coast or somewhere out of the US entirely. I hate winter time though, so idk how well Norway would be a fit for me haha. I'd love to get a cabin and make it the summer home, but it seems that it's difficult to even do that unfortunately.

    • @ansleytaylor
      @ansleytaylor  2 года назад +2

      I don't think you should have any problems applying to study in Norway. I have personally known students that study here from both Poland and the USA. Just apply to any Norwegian universities you can and hopefully they'll accept you into one of their programs.

    Thanks to the author of the channel for this fascinating video! It is interesting to see how people live in other countries! It is very important to know foreign languages on such trips. I would like to recommend to all travelers a practical guide to learning foreign languages by Yuriy Ivantsiv " Polyglot Notes. Practical tips for learning foreign languages". This book contains a lot of useful tips on how to learn a foreign language for tourists, students, entrepreneurs and anyone who needs a foreign language in life. There are a lot of good tips on how to solve problems with the language from beginner to advanced level of language learning. It turns out that the traveler only needs to know a few dialogues and you can easily travel around the world! You don't have to spend a lot of time to fully learn a foreign language, you just need to learn what you can use when you travel. I wish everyone exciting travels!

    Hey Ansey! How are you doing? I've been recently admitted to a master's programme at UiO too and my UDI documents checklist is the exact same as the documents you had to submit in order to get a study visa. I have a question if you don't mind, did you not have to wait for SiO's response for student housing to be able to apply? International students are guaranteed housing but I thought the embassy required a rental contract to approve the study visa

    • @ansleytaylor
      @ansleytaylor  2 года назад +2

      I actually did need to show proof that I had already signed a rental contract. Because SIO had such slow processing times I signed a contract with Anker student housing association instead 🏠

    Hi Ansley. I am in a similar situation as you. I currently have a work permit (I got admitted for a PhD). My question to you, as a RUclipsr is, are you legally allowed to monetize your RUclips channel while you are living in Norway with your residence permit? I am currently growing my own channel, but I don't know if I will be allowed to monetize it without getting in trouble because of the restriction of the permit I got (I am not allowed to work in anything other than my PhD project). Thanks in advance!

    hi, does the grant of student visa mean you could live in norway permanently?

    • @ansleytaylor
      @ansleytaylor  2 года назад +2

      Unfortunately, no. The student visa needs to be renewed yearly alongside documentation that you are continuing your studies in Norway. Once you are no longer a student, you must apply for other visas to remain in the country (for example a workers visa).
