Every single Raiders O-Lineman was a stud.
Jerry Rice and Charlie Garner played for the Raiders the next season.
I wonder how pissed Al Davis was, who was still pretty healthy back then- when Nip dropped that wide open, zero coverage pass for a quick easy TD
Its funny because Rice coming to the Raiders was front page news on the chronicle and all over the media. But Charlie Garner made a huge impact for the Raiders too.

I was bartending in a dive bar with all 9er fans getting drunk watching this game. Being the only Raider fan in the bar, they were talking smack the whole game. Guess who got the last smack down? I shoved it in their face for at least an hour after the game. Vengeance was mine!!

i am a raiders fan, have been since 1960. both teams played their hearts out. excellent game.

From the Raiders perspective, this is probably the best Raiders/Niners game ever played.

I agree with this so much. The year they went to super bowl 37 was not as good of a team as this team.

Before the 49ers moved to Candlestick Park, it was the raiders who played there in the early 1960s
I was listening on the radio, I think the 4th quarter and OT. Family went paint balling up north along the 680 area.

Raiders were good but they always had a top Elite team to play against in the AFC.
In '98 it was the 14-2 Broncos who won the big one, then in 2000 it was the Ravens, then in 2001 it was the Pats.
Our best chance to finally win one was in 2001 or 2002 but we got cheated then Davis traded Chucky to the team who beat us.

Imagine having Tim Brown, James Jett, Rocket Ismail, Jerry Porter, Jerry Rice and Andre bad moon Rison all on the '00-'01 roster against the Ravens and Pats in Playoffs.
Wacthing these old games from like '98-'01 it makes one wonder how much greater it could have been.

The Raiders also had a lot of great defensive players too in that era. Charles and Rod Woodson, Biekert, Eric Allen, Sam Adams, Darrell Russell, Reagan Upshaw...and an awesome O Line

No it wasn't. Raiders beat The 49ers @ San Francisco 23-14. I forgot exactly what year it was but Charles Woodson sealed the Raiders victory with an interception of a Colin Kaepernick pass. Game Over!!! Raiders win 23-14
