Joanna Wong-I haven't had the chance to see the show as yet, but listening to the music you're right it really does seem like a heartwarming show, if a little sad cause of the setting of the 9/11 tragedy. As tragic as 9/11 was it's uplifting to see how something good came out of the horrific events of that day, and we could all learn from the compassion & kindness the Newfoundlers showed those stranded passengers.
My friend and I were so surprised when he mentioned Taipei (Taiwan) when we listened to the musical in London. What a heart-warming show!!! Highly recommended!
i cant listen to this without bawling and then i saw it on westend last weekend and just fuckin lost it in every way, i barely saw the last scene coz i was crying so much oh god it was amazing
Gander was given a piece of steel from the world trade center. ❤ in a tragedy good in the world still can come through. This musical and story shows that.
What a beautiful show about a beautiful town that reminded us that even in darkness, people can always choose to be kind and good and take care of each other. We all come from away.
Just saw Come From Alive for the 3rd time. The actual show is 105 minutes while the sound track is 65 minutes. The 40 minutes of dialogue that you only see live adds a LOT. Please see the the show live.
Saw this musical on a band spring trip. Was thinking it was going to be a great nap opportunity... I was so wrong. I still have this specific song stuck in my head.
To those who are interested in learning more about this story, I would recommend the novel: The Day The World Came to Town, 9/11 in Gander, Newfoundland. (By Jim DeFede) Such a powerful story.
Moments where I celebrated the most in my life, in order: 1. When my national team scores a goal in a World Cup match 2. When Nick and Diane reveal they reunited and got married 3. When I passed my last high school exam and graduated

Crazy that in exactly one month, on the 20th anniversary, it’s unlikely that anyone from America will be visiting Gander since we couldn’t get our shit together.
Lovely musical, but Newfoundland isnt the only place outside the United States that has steel from the World Trade Center. Just found out that Christchurch, New Zealand, has a piece there. God bless America 🇺🇸 🙏 ❤️
As many times as I have listened to this... I still find myself chuckling at "7,000 strays"
To the ones who've left

Our candle's in the window and
the kettle's always on
Every time I hear those lines, I tear up. Without fail.

Can you be addicted to a musical? I love all of this but especially Claude's emphatic We commemorate WHAT WE FOUND!

@@rafinmd “Newfoundland is the only place outside the United States, where we share the steel from the World Trade Center.” That one hits me
@@mvdude3 Since that time it has apparently appeared somewhere else. The last few times I saw the show it was changed to "One of the only places"
Saw this musical on a band spring trip. Was thinking it was going to be a great nap opportunity... I was so wrong. I still have this specific song stuck in my head.
this is the only musical that makes me cry with every song. it makes me unbearably emotional.
There's a very special group of people out there, all around the world that learned how to say "Newfoundland".
