I saw a LIVE of this once. And I think I might've seen Saiki-san sing backup while Miku-chan sang lead. And they switched and then switched back again.
Yeah very punky pop and another one that is so worth returning to. For some reason I feel like it deserves a mosh pit dance. But the one thing it has is that wonderful change of pace during the song that they do so well. Miku nails the vocals. Must admit I am enjoying the old albums again having forgot how good they are.
Yeah, it's Miku. She's very versatile. On the lyrics, it might not be the best moment to get into them because Band-Maid weren't writing them on this album (though I think Miku must have written the pigeon line of Thrill). For me, Arcadia Girl is the only song on New Beginning which is enhanced by reading the lyrics. This is probably partly because so much get lost in translation. I'm pretty sure that's the case with this song, but it definitely isn't with the next one unfortunately. Anyway, I do love that thrash metal interlude.
From what I've read, Miku wrote about 1/3rd of the lyrics for Thrill. Mostly through substitution and contraction of words, which has become her trademark writing style. I can't remember the exact discussion, but Thrill was originally written in Tokyo-ben Dialect, and Miku helped switch it over to Kansai-ben Dialect which allows for some contraction in the pronunciation. At least that is the gist of the large discussion that went on. I read it originally on 2 ch and there was a further discussion on reddit about it.
Hi. Yes, the first three releases are refered to officially as Mini Albums and similar to the Unleash!!!!!! release which people now call an EP. All of which have 8-9 tracks but only last for about 30 minutes. This song- JPop/Thrash metal.
Audience participation in Japan, Saiki has the audience participants chant "Wa", but outside of Japan, the audiences insist on chanting"Hey".. Although I've seen Saiki several times attempt to get them to chant "Wa" (idk what it means..beside the point) She just gives up. Laughs and continues with the song..Watch Lovebites live Asami always has audience chant "Wa".. Saki from Nemophila, (Marys Blood) also.
Gacharic Spin shouts "Wa" or "Wai" as well and I have seen other Japanese bands do the same. Sounds and things people say for specific properties of items, actions or onomatopoeia in general can be really different across different countries. A great example are the words to describe the sounds specific animals make, they can differ wildly across different countries even though the animals themselves don't make different sounds. I believe "Wai" is used in Japan as a cheering sound as well, for example when they are happy (like "yay" is used in English speaking countries for example). So my guess is that they use that cheering sound to pump up the crowd, just like they do with "hey" over in the West. I think it just comes natural to Japanese people to pump up the crowd with "wai" instead of "hey".
@@MaartenT agreed.. I just think it'd be a shock and pleasing to hear if at the next western concert any of these bands play, the crowd started chanting "Wa"
Das spielten sie 2016 auf ihrer "Brand New Maid" Tour in Europa und Mexiko. Anbei ein stimmungsvolles Video von dort: ruclips.net/video/RXeD4TGaHlc/видео.html

It's one of the Miku songs. I do agree that her voice sounds somewhat different on this one. I'm not really sure why, it can be production or just because she wasn't as well trained back then. This is probably one of their more poppy songs as well as the song with the most metal riff in their catalogue. It was clearly meant to be the beauty and the beast in that sense. I wasn't super fond on it the first couple of listens, but I actually quite like it nowadays even though I am not the biggest pop-punk fan. I typically prefer my punk with a little more grit.
For some really beautiful vocals from Miku, you might like to watch some of her side project videos. 'Cluppo' is the name of the project. She describes the music as 'Hippie-poppo' Some brilliant music. Here's one called 'Pogo'. ruclips.net/video/A5XGq1lapKA/видео.html
