Today there is the K3, seems very similar but with some benefits: It has another keys row with function keys. The K7 has the upper row of keys for Function, Volume and numbers....seems complicated. K7 is not already delivered, it is a kickstarter project.
Hey Chris! This keyboard looksm amaizing! but I’m very very used to work with my Logi Keys to go is my favorite keyboard for my iPad Pro… It’s very portable, splash proof, slim, cheap, and works awesome!!! the battery last about 3 months og heavy use… I’ll keep working on this! Great video
I think if that keyboard would be more silent, I would consider it. But that‘s not the point of a mechanical keyboard, right? Charging once a week would be not a problem, the typing seems really nice. Thanks for the review!
I have the White Magic Keyboard for my new I-Pad Pro XDR. It is awsome isn't it? Where did you get a Black Magic Mouse? I have seen that mouse in Space Gray and Silver but not Black?
Hi Chris! Great video!! I just purchased my Keychron K3 that I love. I am surprised that it looks, sounds and has exactly all that K7 offers. I would appreciate if you let me know if there is any difference between the K3 and K7. Best regards from Australia. Alberto
My only apprehension with the keychron products is the keycaps. I had a K6 before and the stock keycaps faded and shined after a month of use. If they started offering better keycaps, I may get one.
I have a keychron k1 and I don't use it because it lacks feet. I really love the Mac compatibility and the bluetooth but what I use instead is the iKBC CD108. I really prefer the full height cherry brown switches to the low profile gaterons but the angle really ruins it for me.
I just bought a k3 v2 with a magic trackpad and I love it! The k3 v2 is a tad bit larger than the k7 with an extra function row. I got mine with the white backlight and brown gateron switches. Great keyboard and will definitely buy keychron again when the time comes
I'm hesitating between the K1 v4 and K3 v2 also whether to get the blue or the brown switches...I want a responsive keyboard that I can type smooth and fast, the one I'm having has a slight delay after each key press
@@sikfreeze the only differences I know of between the k1 and the k3 are the k1 has a slightly beefier build and is full size and the k3 is 75% with a mostly solid build. I got the k3 because i like a keyboard that doesn’t take up a lot of space and I got the brown switches because I do a lot of creative work like video editing so the slight bump in the brown switch was just what I wanted. If you want to really fly over the keys consider the red switches since it’s just a straight press to actuation with no click. Also be careful getting optical switches, I heard some people have issues with them registering with just a slight touch.
@@thewholeninemedia Thank you. Helps a lot. Not so sure about the red switch though, I tried the red switch on other keyboards and I kinda have problem knowing if the key was actually registered...would be nice if I could try them out first but with the covid situation going on, that's not likely going to happen...I might go with k3 either blue or brown...Thanks again for a great advice ^__^
Just came to say, I see your 116 gear! Noice! Also I’m excited for this K7. I hadn’t pulled the trigger yet on the K3 because of how it would travel in my slim backpack, but I’m definitely curious about this K7 with full RGB.
If only this keyboard is quieter. I’m looking for a compact mech keyboard with cherry mx brown or silent red switches for the Mac. Why do they not exist?
Thanks for doing a thorough review. I'm a backer. Keychron has impressed me with the overall typing feel and build of their keyboards. I've been very happy with my K6 keyboard buth thought having a slimmer one would be helpful. The Logitech MX Keys is great for desktop work but I wouldn't want to take it on the road. Being totally blind, I'm thankful that there are physical switches for changing OS and between wired, off and Bluetooth. I'm also glad there's a way to shut off the backlighting. That'll be even more important given the smaller battery on the K7. Although tempted by the Mint switches, I've really enjoyed the linear red switches and may stick with them. How well does the Bluetooth work? I was happy with the K6 but very disappointed with the Bluetooth in the k8. The connectivity was just awful to use with my iPHONE. Does the keyboard report its battery status to the battery widget on your iPAD? I've been hoping Keychron would get that working so I have a way of checking the charge of the battery. Status lights don't do me a ton of good. I do all my writing on my iPHONE. For me, Ulysses has been absolutely fabulous. The My Noise and Nature Space apps provide excellent soundscapes.
Chris, I’m about to order this bc you have the best taste in keyboards. But I’m worried this thing is going to be loud. I don’t want to hit mute/unmute throughout Zoom calls while taking notes. How does the keyboard noise compare to other Apple/Logitech keyboards? Seems like this one is going to be on the louder side of the spectrum?
Mechanical keyboards are loud by nature. Research the switches. Some are quietER but still not like Apple or Logi quiet. Maybe try a mechanical at the store first. That’s why I included that sound example.
Chris, I watch and love all your videos. So helpful. You'll use that keyboard ALL they time. Keychron is the best. I have the K3, it's my absolute favorite keyboard. I've recently ordered a low-profile K1 for my job. Typing on their low profile is a dream. As far as the bluetooth wakeup latency, when you want to connect, just hit the return key 3 times, evenly, and it wakes up. I've just gotten used to that. So, one, two, three and it wakes perfectly. Just like hitting the key once. Take care! oh, btw, I have the blue clicky. Love 'em.

This review concluded as soon as that ergonomically disatrous Apple Magic Mouse came into view.
I think if that keyboard would be more silent, I would consider it. But that‘s not the point of a mechanical keyboard, right? Charging once a week would be not a problem, the typing seems really nice. Thanks for the review!
116! Love the little rid bits of 116 in most vids
K3 for me 🥰 also a tip - disable the sleep fn
Ok. Chris has such great taste and recommendations I actually care which keyboard is his favorite. xD
Perfect review!!!

From what i can tell its just a k3 with no function row, the k7 is a true 65% keyboard vs the k3
k12 >
UNASHAMED!!!

@@sikfreeze the browns are also very nice to type on and you can feel what you’re doing.
@@thewholeninemedia I was going to buy brown but all sold out so I picked blue instead. Are the separated switches expensive?

116 gang let’s go
I have the k3 and i’d absolutely toss it in my bag, I’m sure the k7 would take up a little less space though since it’s missing the function row

How do you deal with the left CMD key further to the left than the magic keyboard? My hand feels cramped moving my thumb further to hit the key.
Thanks for sharing. I enjoyed learning about this product. Blessings on your day.
Anything can replace the sound of mechanical keybords.
116!!! 🤟🏽
Je vais juste suivre de loin car en anglais cela va être compliqué de chatter
Vous n’apprenez pas l’anglais en France ?
Good job! Liked!
Dammit Chris you win… I subscribed lol… just keep putting out solid content!
Why would you need MagSafe and AirPods Max around the table if you don’t use them in the video?😅
How’s the flex? I’m a heavy typer and need my kbs to be really rigid.
Uff I would be really annoyed by the noise it creates while typing.
I have a Keychron K1 V2 at home and V4 at my office. Love them both!
Kinda sad you got the brown switches, i used to like them a lot but now i know better.
Nice job. You should put the keyboard model in the title :)
What do you think of the Logitech combo touch typing experience?
You can press certain keys to turn off the auto shut off. I did it on my K6 and now K12
Your camera is soooo clear? What are your settings?
Hi. QUESTION: 1) What switch came with your keyboard? 2) How long before it goes to sleep mode? Thanks very much. Love the sound of it. God bless.
Yeah, duh, he didn't say what switches he chose...in a mechanical keyboard review. 🙄
the one thing that bugs me is the massive gaps between keys
If you use it cabled does this cause battery overcharging issues? Look great!

Just disable the sleep fn, will still last quite long
Have you tried the Nuphy keyboards?
Yes.
How do they compare to the Keychrons?
USB receiver???
Great review
En tout ca très bon youtuber
Uno uno seis
Is this less comfortable than a magic keyboard?
I have nothing bad to say about the Magic Keyboard. This is comfy in a different way.
Lol dang Chris. I come to the comments to find the link. NOPE.
It's in the description!
Don’t cuss at me ! 😂 I can’t help im slow
