I found your channel late last year and it inspired me to upgrade from my old keyboard of 6 years that was not hot-swappable. I got a Nuphy Halo75 with Rose Glacier tactile switches, and lubed the switches+modded a few of the stabilizers (most of them were surprisingly secure). Since then I replaced the switches with lubed Baby Raccoon linear switches and slightly heavier retro PTB keycaps. It feels and sounds amazing to type on, which is great because I should be happy with the tool I see and use while I work!

I bought the GMMK Pro while it was on sale for Black Friday and am pretty happy with it.
I recognize it isn't the best, but my keyboard needed replacing and I don't really have the time (needed keyboard) nor space to just wait around or have multiple options. So the perma-in stock is a major bonus that just can't be discounted. I came from an old razer chroma.
I also bought their lubed panda switches, so far so good. I have noticed a few keys that don't seem to activate consistently. Not sure if that is a keyboard/pcb issue, or a common thing when you buy switches where a few in the pack are going to be DOA.

Built a Keychron V series recently as a budget keeb for work. I did not like it stock so I have been doing a lot of experimenting with it. Keychron is now selling PC and brass plates for these so I'm hopeful those will be an improvement.
Ended up adding o-rings to the tray mount posts which was a big improvement, and more o-rings between the top and bottom case mounts to make it sound less hollow.
The top case is a bit flimsy and somehow I cracked it during one of many re-assemblies.

I've watched so many of your videos and I'm interested in keyboards but I somehow don't get it. Almost all of them look the same and have the same layout. It's so boring and borderline bad for sb like me who wants a 96 or fullsize keyboard because I actually need the numpad.
Also not a single mention about ISO layouts. I don't want to critize you in any way but the keyboard community as a whole. There is so much we could do but it's literally always TKL ANSI and low-profile doesn't really exist at all. And I also want to mention the pricing. Holy sh.. 100$ for a pair of keycaps? What the actual f? Excuse me but who is seriously buying keycaps for over 50$. They remain pieces of plastic and they definitly aren't worth more than 50$. I don't think anybody will spend more than that but I could be wrong tho.

Got a keychron V1 around the end of last year and just did the tape mod and filled the spacebar with a bit of foam and it sounds really good. If anyone has recommendations for some easy to do mods I could do to it that would be cool. Sounds really good though even just stock

This is a board i have considered getting in the past. I would like to see how good this board could be with proper modding. It would be awesome to see this board in your videos. Keep up the great content my dude.

I'm typing this on an NZXT Mini TKL right now, but it's my first mechanical and I got it for half price, so I'm a pretty big fan so far. I think that, as someone who's upgrading from an incredibly cheapo rattly membrane keyboard, literally anything would've been good, but I think the main reasons I'm not bothered by the issues you pointed out in that video are 1: I don't plan on taking this keyboard apart until I stop using it, 2: I think you might've cut it a little more slack if you'd gotten it for $60, and 3: I realized that I'm probably gonna need to build a split keyboard to prevent hand strain anyway, so at WORST, I basically just paid $60 for an OK set of caps and switches (which... I think is a decent price?) But yeah, all the problems you had in your video about it are definitely real; I just happen to have other priorities.

This was kind of a wasted video. You broke your one and only rule, that they should be in stock. EVERY keyboard you recommended is out of stock. Sure, the keycaps and keys were a nice addition but when the defeat the purpose of your own rules from the beginning, you defeat the purpose of the video. Maybe should have just said this was a key and key cap recommendations.

I bought the gmmk pro not really knowing anything about keyboards because i fell in love with how it looked with the nebula keycaps and have fallen headfirst into keyboards. The gmmk pro is definitely worth it. Especially with the glorious app to control all the lights. I have certain keys (arrows, wasd, left ctrl, left shift) highlighted blue and green while i have an over all pink light effect on the rest of the keyboard. I also love the weight of it. Its a solid keyboard.

  • @jedi4vols

I am aware hipyo that the gmmk pro isn't the "best" option but I recently built one with akko silvers and di the tape mod. I also replaced the aluminum plate with a polycarbonate one. And i love this keyboard. I think the problems most were having with it was early release issues. The only issue I've had with it is the spacebar. (which is fixable) Anyways, great video. I also dont think its incredibly overpriced compared to other 75%. I also thought the gmmk pro looked the best to me. It's just personal preference and how much modding you want to do. Anyways great vid.

Initially I missed the keypad and the insert key (as a programmer I sometimes need it for a shortcut), but the keypad was just something I had to learn, and the missing Insert key can be used via `Fn + Del`. I now hate larger keyboards (like the Q3) - they're just too chonkey for me!
