For those who can't find the "Use as a connected camera" setting. 1. Click on Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Mobile devices. 2. Turn ON the "Allow this PC to access your mobile devices". 3. Click on "Manage devices". Before you can proceed to step 4, you need to add your phone to the Phone Link software. 4. Turn ON "Use as a connected camera".
This can be very helpful for diagnosing hardware setups in some remote IT support scenarios! Too bad iOS doesn't work though... I find in my experience most older and non-technical / impatient end users that would really benefit from this type of feature are iOS users.
OK, a bit of research shows that the PC needs to be on Win11 ver 22h2 (2022 Update) or higher and mine is 21h2 (2021 update), meaning this won't work like most of others below. It's held back due to some issue with the Processor being under an 8thGen and mine is an i5-6500 which is a 6th gen. That has something to do with the TPM being 1.2, which needs to be 2.0 to get 22h2, therefore it can't support it. Basically PC is too old to get more Win11 updates. "Mobile Devices" appears on the 22h2 and up versions.
I've just tested on my s10+, it works perfectly. I have the latest standard version of win11. I already had windows phone link working, all I had to do was to enable the mobile device option!
Its quick to use and can be used anywhere as long as youre on the same network which is great, but the webcam quality honestly its that great yet. Maybe due to compression... My native camera on my s23 is 100x better than the stream I get on my windows 11 app.
I've used this on conveference calls, and while the quality over the builtin webcam is a huge difference, it's laggy as hell.. probably due to the bluetooth connection.
Even after updating I can`t see the ``cross device experience host`` on Microsoft Store. Also on my Settings Bluetooth & devices it does not show MOBILE DEVICES option. Please HELP !!!
My guess is this may be expanded to a🎉n additional camera on a tablet or even a doorbell device and a smartwatch with a camera built-in providing you with secure home or family time via Facetime or WhatsApp from multiple angles and perhaps perfect pictures, and home movies using your mobile phone or tablet a media hub. Wonder if you have an Xbox will you have a similar connection via a laptop to a phone and Xbox or PS device? Expanded media and if you have any smart hubs in your home I would think that they would fall under these connections providing the WiFi can connect everything. PLEASE?
I have a Galaxy S20+. It works perfectly for my phone. Make sure you have all the dependencies updated: Windows 11 updated, Windows Apps updated, Your phone updated, have your phone set up and added to Link to Windows and make sure that all features are working in the app. Only advice I can give, I had no trouble.
tried it but no video is showing up, only a loading screen, everything is up to date.... Only the message on my phone that it's trying to start a stream.... maybe it's not working for my p30 pro who knows ... but alone the fact that you have to allow the stream everytime makes it a worse solution then some other Phone as Webcame apps like druid cam ... So I still have to connect via VNC to my phone to enable the stream, then I can also just use druid cam with an USB connection..... The feature sounds nice but for now only on paper
I have Galaxy s20+ but I don't see the effects dropdown, everything else works fine. And the resolution is limited to 720p, is it possible to increase it somehow?
Not good for beginners, telling what to do as though we have all done not showing. If we knew we wouldn't need the video - sorry but true. Not been a helpful video hence all the enquiries in the comments. And you've not even replied to help ANY viewers.

If you don't have this feature, you can use Iriun Cam to use Phone's cam as a webcam
@@ht_ghaurinah, DroidCam is better: it's lightweight and open-source
I have a Galaxy S20+. This worked perfectly for my phone. Works wireless, cables not needed. Thank you so much for helping me find this!

Thank you a lot. Very articulated presentation. The feature is very very useful.
It's only 720p30fps. Why they lock the higher resolutions? You can use iVcam Webcam to get petter performance.
Thank you Tech Based
I have Galaxy s21 and windows 11 laptop but some reason it doesn't show me that webcam option in settings. Do you have any idea why is that?
neither
