  • Steel Cut Overnight Oatmeal UPDATE!! • Steel Cut Overnight Oa...
    *Give this video a thumbs up if you liked it!* FULL RECIPE BELOW :)
    Steel Cut Overnight Oats:
    I've listed the ingredients in the order you should put them in your jars.
    1. 5 Mason Jars
    2. Steel Cut (or regular rolled) Oats
    I was trying to use a healthier option, but I prefer the look and consistency of the old fashioned rolled oats better!
    3. Unsweetened Vanilla Almond Milk
    4. Honey (agave or maple syrup works too!)
    5. Lemon juice (optional)
    6. Cinnamon
    7. Tumeric
    8. Black chia seeds
    9. Coconut sugar (stevia is another option)
    10. Plain, FULL FAT Greek Yogurt (I like the Greek Gods brand and I prefer plain over a flavored greek yogurt to reduce the amount of sugar in this recipe)
    11. Organic, low sodium, Peanut Butter (the kind you stir!)
    12. Berries (or bananas or both!)
    13. Nuts (I used pecans)
    14. Refrigerate over night
    ENJOY!

    I always thought you needed heat for steel cut. Would love to see the final product to see how much it expanded.

      Ccr Reilly my day two and three jars were perfect in texture. However, prepping this way to microwave in the morning is amazing!! You can enjoy hot as well without standing over a pot for 30min ❤️

      Do you eat it cold? I much prefer warm oat. 😳

      Yes! I eat it cold/room temp OR you can put in a bowl and eat warm. It’s perfect. I linked the updated version in the description of this video ❤️

    Steel cut oats without cooking? Don't know why but I find that very hard to believe .

    • @frankii5011
      @frankii5011 6 лет назад +1

      I tired doing that with the steak cut oats but they were very hard

    • @SADEONTHERUN
      @SADEONTHERUN  6 лет назад +1

      OrangeTabbyCat they have to soak awhile. I personally don’t mind the texture. BUT!! This is a great way to prep steel cut oats if you want to microwave the next day. So obviously don’t add fruit to your mason jars the night before just the oats and milk and spices. ❤️

    Your recipe time was not enough time to soften the nuttiness of the steel cut oats they were not edible after all.

    • @SADEONTHERUN
      @SADEONTHERUN  4 месяца назад

      I totally understand what you mean! Also, I have an update video! And yes, these won’t be the softest texture as they are steel cut. But the more milk to oat ratio and the longer they’re in the fridge 1-2 days is probably the softest they get. I personally like the nutty texture. In my updated video I did the overnight recipe but added to a bowl to heat in the microwave and enjoy warm. That’s a good hack for saving on cook time!

    This is a perfectly healthy breakfast. The peanut butter is Kroger natural, has no hydrogenated oils. It's 8 carbs, 3fiber and 1gram of natural sugar. Looks good but I would love to see how it looks in the morning.

      Yaya's share box I do eat it cold. But with steel cut oats those are perfect for soaking overnight and heating up the next day. They cook much faster that way ❤️
