    love to hear about other young knitters in Italy! I feel like I never see anyone here in Milano and I wish there was a bit of a community here.

      Hi! Nice to hear from you. It's so true - there are hardly any younger knitters here. I would love to go to knitting meets or groups but I never really hear of them!

    I just want to say, I truly love your content. I like your style, your mindset regarding what you do and I find your voice very calming.
    With that said. Please creat whatever you feel inspired by. A video like this one, an travel vlog, just cooking, idk. But the sky is the limet! If you feel inspired and passionate about something, I’m shore I(we as viewers) will feel that and enjoy watching.
    Life is to short to do something that doesn’t feel right❤️

      Thank you so much for the lovely comment - It made my day. I hope that some of what I share is interesting even if it is a little bit different! Genres on RUclips can feel like an oddly rigid thing sometimes.

    I made the fortune sweater by petite knit with drops alpaca silk and I really love it! I held it single, so it didn't take that many balls and it's a super nice and fluffy layer

      Oh I love this sweater! I’ve actually been thinking about casting it on too. Thanks for the suggestion - I’m going to have another look at my stash now.

    There you are! 😊 you’ve been missed! I do not do social media, so no way of catching up with you. So you are one of the stash gang 😂 like all of us we looked round one day and realised we have bought more yarn than we have time to knit😮 never mind it will get used eventually. Your Moby sweater, and you r blue tee are just stunning, you are a beautiful knitter. If you feel you want to change things up here, go ahead it’s your channel after all, always enjoy seeing and listening to . Suze. 🥰x

      Thank you for this lovely comment and being patient with my patchy posting on RUclips. I’m really excited to share some other bits (maybe some sewing!) as well as my knitting. I never thought I would have a big stash but my recent cupboard clear out indicated otherwise. At least I’ve got some projects sorted for the next few months! 😂 Hope you’re having a lovely start to the week with lots of time for knitting. 🧶😊

    I noticed you have some Lalland by Di Gilpin- this is one of my favorite yarns! I found it gorgeous to knit with. I made an Auguste cable cardigan with it (Kolibri by Johanna). If you have a smaller quantity, a cabled hat would be beautiful too, since it's so soft and warm and I think it's designed for texture knits. That's how I plan to use my leftovers.

      Hi! I do - it’s lovely stuff. I got two balls because I planned to use it in some colour work, but I like your idea of a cabled hat. Very excited to use it up!

    I have some Lima as well that I’m intending to use for a My Favorite Things Sweater no. 18! Looking through the projects page there is a good mix of people who use a single yarn alone and also those who hold a lace weight along with - I’m personally leaning towards the Lima alone for more defined stitches ^^

    • @OrsaMakes
      @OrsaMakes  Год назад +1

      The Lima is a gorgeous yarn and would definitely work alone too. I will have to check out the MFT sweater. I might use my Lima alone and try to make something else with the matching Alpaca Silk because it is just so nice.

    Hi Isy, just discovered your account and jumped in comments as soon as I saw your Drops Lima ..... I LOVE this yarn and would highly recommend Big Love by Ankestrick. ..it's beyond fabulous and is an absolute dream combo. Currently knitting it in the 'pearl grey' and can't wait to start another in ''dark taupe'. Von in Australia x

      @@OrsaMakes Lovely to hear from you. I'm loving your podcast. I think the M1 size of the Big Love will end up using 12-13 balls. I have just made a gilet version without the sleeves to wear over my long sleeved T's and it's taken 9 balls. Take care and have a lovely day. Von x

    Do you need easy small commute knitting? Are you able to knit during work breaks? Can you only knit at home after work and on days off? Approximately how much time can spend on this hobby per day/week? Starting early on your Dad's scarf will take the stress off - unless you are a person who thrives on pressure. The summer knits you are making are beautiful. Missed you and look forward to seeing in your evolving style on RUclips ❤.

    • @OrsaMakes
      @OrsaMakes  Год назад +1

      These are all excellent questions! I work from home - so no commute and not many breaks. I also do a lot of typing and don't get the chance to knit during the day at all. I'm hoping to get in an hour or two before and after work each day now that my schedule is more manageable. I will probably start his scarf asap - fingers crossed I get it done in time. If not, it will be a present for Xmas. Thanks so much for watching!

    This was a fun episode - your moby sweater turned out so well. I can't tell what the first sweater you were wearing (0:49) was, but the fabric and color are beautiful. Is that merino/mohair held together?

    • @OrsaMakes
      @OrsaMakes  Год назад +2

      So glad you enjoyed it! The blue sweater is the Cumulus Blouse (mohair and a discontinued Drops silk alpaca blend). The pinky/purple one is two strands of mohair silk held together. They both get loads of wear and I can't wait for the Autumn to bring them out again.
