What is interesting... is everyone who's been sent one for review seems to have led lights in the frame... whereas anyone who's bought one has no light. Also don't drop it more than 1inch from the ground... breaks easily

I know it’s not a great acro flyer, no cinewhoop is. But does it fly acro better than the Avata? Every channel talks about the battery, it’s plastic, it’s specs. But I wanna know how it flies. You came close to answering that question until you crashed. Glad you recovered it and thanks for all your hard work.
It definitely seems like it flies better than the Avata. I know it's not a freestyle drone but there's plenty of footage of decent little defender freestyles, flips both front backwards and sideways.
I've seen just as many videos of the Avata falling out of the sky in a hard turn let alone trying to flip without being very high up in the air.
Loved the ending in mandarin and as always thanks for keeping it real and calling out issues with products not pandering to companies. I think you're very fair but I guess the way the internet works they'd rather see a rosy painting over honest criticism. I'm glad you got your drone back in the end but got a chuckle out of the reaction when it got stuck, been there enough times myself, especially fishing and casting into a tree or getting snagged on the bottom trying to fish a spot known for that.
Thanks for your feedback. I dont userstand why ppl want to compare this drone with the avata. Comparing li ion 15minute flight against lipo 3 minutes flight is like comparing apples against bananas.
You don’t know why people are comparing them? This drone probably owns it’s existence because of the Avata. I don’t think it’s terrible but the flight time is shit. If they could double it or get close to that then it would be decent.

I am new to this hobby. My first quad is defender 25. It had some tech issue when I received the quad. The customer service person kept telling it is my fault that messed up the setting, but didn't instruct how to solve the problem. I eventually got help from DJI support and the FPV community. Another thing worth to mention is the frame, prop guard broke after hitting a bush branch that thinner than my finger. No matter how many youtubers say iflight make the best quad, I will never buy any thing from iflight.
They definitely suck with customer service

Good review..We are on the same boat with iFlight product. My iFlight Protek35 their promise 8 minutes flight with GoPro ..I am lucky to get 4 minutes without (4S setup). I did try to tune the timing loading setup from the iFlight, but no still the same. You are right they tune flight characteristic well, It does fly great only not nearly as long as advertised. On the second flight, on not even hard landing the frame have cracked and took two blades with it.
P4 is trash, my guards broke on very light crash. So i change frame to foxwhoop35, much more durable and flys great
Where did you get 8 mins flight advertised with gopro from?
I have 2 protek35 and they've taken a good bashing and are still going. I get just over 4 mins with full gopro 1300mah 4s
@@ha-media I still have mine for a while now, bashing it NO to fragile for that. I would be happy with 5 minutes with full GoPRO, I can't get 3 minutes with 1500mah 4S battery. Look I've seen hundreds good reviews of this quad, mine must be a dud (not referring to the frame).
I fly my 6s Protek 35 on 4s and get longer flights because of the lower kv motors

I also put mine in a tree 😂, I bend the duct up fairly badly but it’s buffed out. It’s a nice little quad but it’s not as resilient as the avata for sure.

Nice product if you need to be under 250g. If not, DJI Avata offers crazy more features for same money. And I just love that dji battery charging. Its dream after charging regular FPV batteries, keeping them on storage voltage etc..

Mine armed fine first day I got it and day after decided not to, have no clue what I did wrong. going tu futz with it tonight since I have a little tiem and see what switches do what if it's working

I pulled my drone out of my pine tree by casting a weight with a fishing pole. Takes good aim and a little luck.
If I just want a great flying Cinewhoop that I can fly with an open TX radio……right now I would say Cinebot 30 with a Vista and a Nebula pro $389. Put your Bones or Naked 8 on that sucker and send it.
This is an attempt at an Avata clone, but the feature set is not even close for the price. You are paying for bullshit and GepRC has better whoops than iFlight all day. Just my opinion. It looks cool, but it’s fragile and looks like a pain in the ass to fix with all of that plastic. Adding a GPS looks like a pain in the ass. The battery thing is cool, but not cool enough. I am one who could care less what my drone looks like. I want it to fly right. The Avata doesn’t fly great, but the features are way better for not much more money.
DJI customer service sucks, but compared to these other FPV companies it’s Sears.

Hey ken, love to see you out in the great outdoors , great recovery there getting the drone back not an easy job at all id say . I had something like that too was close to a very big tree. was so focus on where i was flying didn't realize the avata battery was just up. went into rth before i knew it slapped off a branch fell around 40.05 m to the ground recovery it and to my surprise only lost the nd filters 16 that was on it. and even the battery stayed in using your jock strap which was amazing high recommend them to all . the dji microphone sounded great there even on a windy day looking into getting the new DJI Mic (1 TX + 1 RX). again thanks hope all is well best of luck at the Texas thing

dang it my guy. i was hoping it would be a finders keepers situation there haha. glad you got it back man. that is expensive but for the flyability, not worth it if you are only getting a few minutes out of it seeing it represents a cinewhoop. had they marketed it as an fpv drone for beginners with prop guards so you can crash and still keep flying, i could understand that. yes the dji system is expensive but if you are going to use that on a drone, make the image quality worth the dang video and have flight time that can accommodate that. 3 minutes you are really trying for the one take challenge. hard to cinewhoop when you cant even scout the area. good review man
Noice review-ish! The drone is a decent product but I'm not sure what it brings to the table you can't get from any number other drones? Heck, if you like the battery idea, 3D print some battery cases and clips and away you go...

My 2 cents worth. For $90 more dollars you get GPS, stabilized and adjustable gimbal, and double the flight time. Also feel Avata is hardier. Biggest draw back in Avata has a way to expensive of battery

Can you adjust the sharpening on the o3 camera it just seems hyper sharp to me which is great for piloting scraggle but makes the video look weird and uncomfortable.
Same exact situation happened to me with my first Nazgul evoque difference in my situation was I never got the drone back

i don’t understand why everyone’s O3 footage looks so different?
It looks like it flies locked in. Maybe I need to start using smaller batteries on my Protek 35. I’ve been flying it on 4s 2200 mah which gets about 8 mins on flights but isn’t as locked in
If you rub the banana on your crotch, it may take care of the itch and burn. Hell, rub it on any IFlight quad and it would prob make that better to.....

3.5 minutes, you better be having some serious motion in the ocean for that kind of flight time. Cost the same as an Avata with less features, less durability, and less flight time, make that make sense. What ev’s to the it’s better crowd that sure to arise, do you, but your gonna have to do you quickly with this one.
My willingness to pay is $300/350 TOPs. This review verified it for me. Overpriced for the features it is lacking.

I'm a fixed wing guy who got my 107 through part 61. Whats the best way for me to get better at actually flying drones?
Simulators. DRL Sim has a guided learning path and if you can get at least one star on every lesson you are ready; this process should take about 10 hours. After this think about moving onto another simulator like Velocidrone or Liftoff. People say Velocidrone has the most accurate physics which is important if you want to translate what you learn to reality. You can use the same radio you use to fly as a controller plugged in to your PC for simulation so you're building real, applicable muscle memory.
What Crashtopher said. Simulator. I personally like Velocidrone the best. I have 7 different ones and have just over 800 hours just in Velocidrone. There is no easy button or tricks to being better, just lots and lots of practice.
