I want to put a tiny stove in this ‘fort’, so wall exits are NOT an option unfortunately. (The stove I have in mind, at least, won’t allow a wall exit). 🤷🏻♀️
@@michygoss7148 I have a serious problem with my roof hailstone damage from 2022, yes you heard it right 2022, my insurance company called Pacifica, absolute waste of space and time, I do believe that some people locally and my ex have had something to do with the work not being carried out, I do have a old asbestos roof, I’ve been told I have got to pay for it to be removed, The reason why I fell to the floor this morning , as that my floor was wet in my lounge I hadn’t realised, when I placed my ladder against the opening up into the attic, I went up to secure it before I had a chance it had slipped away just as I was getting onto the attic floor, I fell hit against the wall that I’ve been building managed to grab all of it and the floor my gloves came off and I carried on going down, not sure whether this is appropriate, but I have about 8 inch bruise on my left leg, bruises on my buttocks scars on my left arm, I will say it again. Pacifica is a waste of space., they are told me one thing that I would have my roof repaired within 2 to 3 months as they had been a lot of people had damage, over two years waiting yes you heard it two years, I’ve got around 60 to 70 containers up in my attic collecting water, I wish I could win the lottery and I will strip the whole thing off myself and redo it, but I have been told not allowed to touch it, got to have a specialist coming to remove the roof, something else I should mention two weeks after the insurance company at received the paperwork people came round to cover the roof with Talonsheets. About three weeks after I noticed I still had leaks in the roof., what they are done is put screws through the outer button to hold the tarp on and done more damage to the roof, I sent an email to the company saying that I had a problem, Pacifica sent my email back, never got a reply, now thinking about taking legal action account Pacifica. Complete waste of space.. Anybody reading this throughout Europe? I suggest that you read your insurance documents especially is from Pacifica., and I suggest changing your insurance, As always, polite and hopefully helpful, stay safe keep up the great work, I wouldn’t be surprised if this gets removed,

I think we, as people who hire expert builders, do not even have any idea how much a person needs to know and understand to be a good builder. Those builders that are good at what they do have spent decades making mistakes and learning all of the in’s and out’s of the trade. I like to believe that every mistake is a learning opportunity. KEEP LEARNING!! Also, I like how you swing that hammer with “purpose”. You go girl!!!
I think that I would have put both boards flush as they are different sizes and would not match up and then put a separate piece In the corner, thicker than the thickest board and put a nice neat caulk down the joints! And as for the wood burner you could always put a 90 Deg bend on and exit the wall at the height that you want thereby maintaining the integrity of the roof.

Had a long speech going on self doubt and fear of mistakes and, as I was formulating it in my head, trying to empathise with you to see if the message is even worth writing down, I was struck by the certainty that you've already figured out that growth comes only from mistakes. Getting it right first try means only that you've already got that bit, brings no new knowledge, no change, no growth. Getting it right because someone else told you to do it like that, again, brings no growth. And with your help, I finally came to understand that too. Thank you

Another great video. You need to start your own apparel line , you look so good in anything you wear . Sorry about Clyde I know you loved him ❤ Have a great day Michy ☕️🙂
Sorry to hear about Clyde, Michelle. Couple of tips. The rubber membrane you have below the first course at 12:38 needs to be in a vertical position behind the planking so as water will not get inside the cabin on wind driven rainy days. Another thing I noticed was your floor beams (at 28:00) need to be braced to each other so they do not "tip over" as the load on them increases as you add more weight to the cabin. One would nail a "rim joist" on the face of these to prevent this. Once those are installed, you also need 45 degree supports to all of your 4x4 vertical posts under those beams.😉
