I'm 75 and my lovely bride is 79. We enjoy watching your shows. We own an island in Ontario so we travel from KS to the island every summer that we are able. I am co-owner of 60 acres of wilderness here in KS. My partner has a sawmill and we mill the lumber we use for projects like deer blinds and drying sheds. Lots of ceder trees. God bless you and keep your finger on that studmuffin Steve.
I thinks its funny when Steve and yourself talk that way. He seems to understand your need to build and be creative. He is a lucky man and Im sure you are lucky too. Great progress on the Fort. Thanks Michy!
I love the idea that someone had about making Clydes bark your ringtone. Pretty simple to do and that way he would always be part of your day. Great video as always you and Steve take care.
As a retired carpenter, I keep thinking damn she swings that hammer like a pro. Love this channel. I don't think I'd plane the floor. I think it gives it character. Maybe a finish.
You and your creative self continue to be worth watching and then some! Your fur baby Clyde at the end is a beautiful memory! He’s happy and enjoying the sunshine on the Rainbow Bridge! He’ll be there for you, just don’t be in any hurry! 🙏❤️🙏
Ole Clyde, loved that bark. I know you miss him. he is a legend. Floor looks perfect for that cabin. I loved that Steve was looking for a chair to hang out in. lol. Keep on keeping on. We love you from coastal North Carolina! ♥️🦅❤️✝️🇺🇸
Here's a hint, lay all your roofing down, take a board, lay across it, take some straps and strap them down to hold the roofing on and then all the snow and water will run off
Another fantastic video , great content ,beautiful fur babies.thanks for sharing your story with us . Looking 👀 forward to seeing you in your next adventure. ❤️🤗😀👍
I'm impressed with how you piece things together, use stuff lying around and still make it look beautiful. Thanks for another fun video Michelle. Take care.
Love the fact that you watch Ryan @surviving ringworm! Love your channel as well as his because of the way you both think in that "it may not be the correct way but it's the way you want to do it and it'll work." And it always does. Being original but different is what I like. The little cabin is looking great!💜
You remind me of when I was younger, building small cabins and forts on our property. We didn't have access to a lumber mill we had to scrounge for supplies but we made it work. Your videos are great! I would love to do that again, thanks for sharing.
You know watching your video and hearing the water in the background it's so soothing I'm watching the video 😂the water is putting me to sleep you are going to get a lot of sleep there with that water flowing and the fort looks awesome and your family looks awesome😂❤❤ thank you for the video it's good to see Steve coming to visit you😂 and thank you for Clyde❤❤
Great video once again. Your compassion for animals is amazing and you're an inspiration to watch in the great outdoors. By the way it doesn't hurt that you're a true natural beauty.
Hi Missshelly, happy Sunday. Thank you for another great video. You are one dedicated young lady. Seeing you in your cold winter jacket and hat just picking away at your flooring with a headlamp speaks volumes about the person you are. I was born and raised in Wyoming and had to do a lot of work outside in the cold and it's so easy to just put it off for another day, but it takes that special something to stay with it to get it done. You have that special something. Thank you also for always sharing video and pics of your beloved dogs. I miss him too. 😞 I will be waiting for the next one. Please have a wonderful and safe week. 🙂
It is the truth! Working in winter/cold has its challenges and it really does take so much more effort to get things done. Days are short and nights are long, and I have come to enjoy working at night in the dark with lights. 💝 Thank you!
When I was 14 years old (a long time ago). My dad let me build a workshop in our backyard. I was building by the "seat of my pants". It was a smaller version of what you are building. It turned out great and I learned a lot about building. All these years later I remember what a great experience I had. Keep up the good work. I love your creativity.
Hi Michelle, Steve, Pups 🐾 and 🐈⬛ too 😊👋🏻 Thank you Michelle, always great to hear from you ! So impressive the work you accomplish Michy 👍🏻Hope you're all doing well, stay safe and take care my friends 😊 God Bless 🙏🏻 Appreciate you always!🫶🏻
Funny, as soon as I saw your caulking I thought, oh Ryan and Ringworm. I used it on a couple of spots on my shed last winter and it has worked great. I’m sure it will be perfect in your application too. PS, thanks for your info/recommendation, (some time ago), regarding your battery chainsaw. I picked up a MSA 70C (update to your model) back in May. OMG do I love that saw! I use it way more than my gas one. Take care of that finger dear heart. See you next week.
Hi Michelle, I’ve been following your channel for years now , and for some reason your new videos make me feel like I’m actually there , which is really cool , great work, thx for sharing.
Michy, Your little creek side fort is coming along well. Your creativity and aesthetic when using recycled wood and windows is masterful. I'm with you if I can avoid going into town I take the "let's see what will do" method every time. It is always so odd when some pets simply don't approve of the camera. Ol' Clyde was always a ham and pro happy strike-a-pose hound. Seeing him always brings a smile to my face... and now a tear to my eye. Your editing of these videos gets better and better. But watch It out! It sounds like Foxy Loxy has been hanging around with Steve, Good thing you headed home to cook a meal for him, you know what a terrible flirt Foxy is!!
Hi Nancy!! Isn’t it so cute!!?! I can’t wait to have it all finished so I can put the stove on and hang out in it 😊 Always make do with what we’ve got first! Foxy Roxy has been slacking lately, but I do think she needs to come visit. Clydey-bear was just so precious. I’ve got a surprise to announce next week ❤
Honestly, I think I like the way this structure looks better than the others you have built. I believe your skill level and confidence is through the roof Michelle. How you handle the chain saw making precise cuts is outstanding!
Great Job as always. You are a bad ass woman tackling these tasks on your own, way to get after it! I am also a huge fan of ‘Surviving Ring Worm’ so kudos to you for using the roof tar as chinking. Im not familiar with where you are located, but you mentioned not having dry days lately. Here in Massachusetts we have been in drought for quite some time now and would welcome some of that rain you’ve been experiencing.. Thanks for continuing to provide great content, I am a fan! 😊
I just want to say it's an honor to share your grief over Clyde's passing. It's never easy, and I learn from how others navigate. Steve's the luckiest guy I know. Well I don't know him but he gets to winter with you sooooo he's lucky!!!
I am a steel fabricator and welder. I smashed the same finger with a 1 lb ball pein hammer in the same area. Stitches required. Very slow to fully heal from. Bad in Cold weather too!
Once again, a great video. Thanks for sharing what goes on in your mind. The fort is fabulous. I love the look of it. You and Steve made me smile and laugh. The pics of Clyde brought tears to my eyes. ❤😊😢❤
Love, love, loved your video. No one on the Internet makes videos with more personality. You have so many fans! I'll stay tuned until you finally stop nesting. I still have a good twenty years in me. -Curt❤❤
I have become incredibly fascinated with your channel! I have a ton of respect for how hard you work on your projects and the dedication you put into them!! I just subscribed to your channel and after watching you more have lots of ideas to help on your projects. I am a draftsman and builder myself and plan to buy some land and build my retirement home. Myself!! Watching you has inspired me to do so. For that I thank you. I will keep up with what you have going on and if I can give you some advice on problem solving…I will most certainly help. Now that I’m subscribed to your channel! Lol. And I am looking at the Ecoflow line for overnight ice fishing! So thank you for that too!!❤
Words could not express how much I look forward to spending Sunday morning with you and the pooches......what a pleasure following your projects. Sharing the ups and downs has brought me smiles and at times tears! So happy to see the snow has finally arrived and hopefully in a day or 2 it comes my way! Enjoy your week Michelle and already looking forward to next Sunday episode! Sending you big huggggs! 🥰Please send snow to Alberta!
There used to be a lot house close to me , built in late 40s or early 50s . It was chinked and plastered with cow manure mixed with Chopped up prairie wool It's been twenty years since I last saw it , but was still standing then , with the chinking still in place Little bit of a yuck factor, living in something covered in cow manure, but it was weather tight at -45 with fifty mph winds
Hi Michelle, You probably already know it but you know how you put the insulation hard up under the floor, if you put some insulation paper across the bottom of the floor joists aswell so you create an air pocket between the two, I think you'll get a better insulation rating! Just a thought! Love your work!👍♥️♥️
Hi. Yes, that roof repair is pretty good. I used the spray kind on the edge of some flashing. And that sealed it pretty good. That was about 3 years ago. It was an upstairs porch job. I redid the original porch that someone else did years before and was not properly installed. So the rains and the weathering began to rot out the flooring. So I was asked to dismantle the entire porch and reconstruct the deck. Hey that singer sounds like Stevie Nicks. Another good video. I love it.
Awesome! All day was working out in the yard to fix everything for the snow that should start falling in few hours, and now after sauna there's Michymilling again and Steve joking around! Awesome! Love you two, stay safe!💗
Great job! Your work with odd sized wood is incredible. I struggle with store bought lumber. Couldn't imagine trying to work with slab wood like you are. Can't wait to see what that floor looks like sanded. You rock!
Michelle I’m sure if you searched long enough that you could find a larger framing hammer but I’m not sure where. lol 😂 You are doing a great job and you are definitely NOT weird. Have a great week.
Roll the bubble insulation foil out on the floor first.. then put the plywood on top of that. will save you time and better insulated. I got that tip from boss of the swamp channel.
Greetings from Czech Republic, lots of strength for building, otherwise if I may advise, on long logs along the rope, two pulleys are placed, one on one end, and the other on the other - which is used to lower the rope. This way the logs do not rotate around one point.
Michelle, I'm having a hard time getting that "warm and cozy" feeling on this one with all that snow and rain coming down. Thanks goodness that Clyde saved the day. RIP Clyde. Thanks for Sharing! 🙃🙂
Well...... Aren't you just a real trooper to keep going even with a broken finger and after someone pissed in your cornflakes. Another Smiley Sunday for me. My dog Lilly acted the same way whenever I aimed a camera or my phone in her direction. She would always turn her head. Hey..... I still don't see any gun ports in your "Fort". How about putting some shutters on the windows with gun port in them. That way you will be read for the zombie apocalypse. Good ol' Clyde. He was a force of nature. You know.... Ryan used a router to make a "chinking groove" before he applied the tar. But he is a real Ryobi fan boy and has all the latest battery powered tools. But I like your "Fort" just like it is. Oh... bye the way. I bet Red Green would be proud of Steve for his practical use of duct tape on his jacket. 😁😁😁
I've installed lots of flooring in my life. Never done what you have done. If that wood is a bit green. Then you might be prepared for some shrinkage. If so, save any standing dust, you create to mix up with wood filler, so you can patch any gaps.
I'm with Clyde on this -- who hasn't barked at a septic tank trunk. The floor looks great. The grain and knots have their own patterns. A good sanding will really bring it out.
The floor is beautiful and unless it is a trip hazard I wouldn't do any planing or sanding but leave it rustic with a coat of some type of varnish to help preserve the wood. You do fantastic work!
RE:Chinking. I know it's too late now but for the next time you build a fort ... and I have no doubt you will ... consider putting a bead of the stuff between the boards before you nail them up so the "stuff" can squish out a bit and seal the gap instead of going back later to fill them in. Not sure I explained that right. Hope you got the gist. 24:33 Consider making a template out of cardboard the next time you come across oddball areas.
Nice job piecing together the last row of the floor. I think it matches the rustic look of your cabin. I hope your finger is feeling better. See you in the next one.
Hi Michelle this video was really relaxing to watch what with your chilled out animals, the music and everything just slotting into place. Steve looked pretty impressed I think 👌🏻 You use that chainsaw with surgical precision 😎
Good morning 🌅, Michy , very nice job, I am not telling you what to do, it is just a suggestion, when cutting it out a square section out of your flooring or lumber?, You might find it easier now you’ve got your jigsaw going., is the drill two holes in the square intersection then cut down to the hole and then cut along the other line towards the next hole, so you can put your jigsaw blade down through the hole and then you can cut in either direction it will save you using a chisel smacking hell of it, good luck with the future, I’m taking my left hand to the hospital this week, as I have couple tundra syndrome, not sure whether that is spelt right, but you get the gist, Stay safe keep up the great work , 💔🔪from France,
Hey Michy the floor looks great. Heres some food for thought, next time when you build something put a bottom plate board down before putting in the studs. This will make it easier to do the flooring. Because youll just have to but the flooring up too it. The only spot would be if your using round lumber, you would have to cut around those, but still a lot easier. Well you silly goose you did a number on that finger, a lovely shade of hematoma going on , and broken capillaries, and a possible broken phalange. Take care and count your blessings, amen.
Bottom plate, yes. I still, in the case of the cliff cabin (because I’m not ‘finishing’ the inside walls) like the look of the flooring going all the way to the wall but I definitely see what that bottom plate would make life easier.
Looking great Michelle. Good to see Steve around :) Tell him hey for us. From SE Texas Bear :) You are going to have a nice community, by the time you finish all the out buildings.. Bread and Breakfast - KEWL Smart. ❤💯🙏
Hi Michelle! What an inspiration you are,,,, you are not afraid to just to try anything and see if it works out ( which it always does). What a beautiful view you have out there,,, breathtaking! I live on the East Coast on Prince Edward Island. Why don't you, your hubby and all your furry friends take a trip out here. I work at Basin Head Provincial Park which, if you look it up is home of the " Singing Sands". If you enjoy beautiful beaches and seafood, this is the spot for you! Thank you for your entertaining videos
That was cool. Seeing one channel I watch (Michyygoss) reference another channel I watch (Surviving Ringworm) (both for similar but different reasons), made my evening.
Hey, I got tired of never having a jigsaw blade, so I bought a pack of one hundred. I have used three of them in te eight years since I bought them. My battery powered jigsaw uses up batteries four times faster than the other tools do.
Morning Michelle. Another day and another great job done. Cabin looks amazing!!! You look stunning also as always. Great seeing Steve and the hounds too. But Honey you will always be the main attraction! Till next week, have a great week ahead, hey! Stay safe and happy my friend. 😊❤❤😊 G
The cliff cabin floor turned out awesome. Who would have thought reclaimed lumber like what you found would be the perfect rustic fit for that cabin. NICE JOB sorry you broke your finger better work on that hammer swinging
Michelle, Thanks for Sharing with every build the techniques and skills are just flowing quicker, Great Job see ya on the next one. p.s. we miss Clyde also.
oof, your poor finger. i look forward to sundays and just want to compliment you on your content, editing, and music selection. it's always a treat watching you do your thing. thank you! 😊

That's probably the nicest "Fort" ever built. It really inspires me to also build a fort. Thanks for the Clyde cameo. ❤
You always impress me Kid !!! always love seeing the pups.!
Yes, that was a good move in his part. BUT, he also had the time to do that.
You build really creative stuff! I did'nt realize how technically skilled you were with your Bluetti products😀
I've installed lots of flooring in my life. Never done what you have done. If that wood is a bit green. Then you might be prepared for some shrinkage. If so, save any standing dust, you create to mix up with wood filler, so you can patch any gaps.
❤ the look of the outside quarter logs and the colors of your floor. As always great job!
I'm with Clyde on this -- who hasn't barked at a septic tank trunk. The floor looks great. The grain and knots have their own patterns. A good sanding will really bring it out.
😂
Excellent tips!! Thank you! 💝
Hi Michelle,
The floor looks great. Give yourself a giant pat on the back. You and Steve stay safe.
Nice job piecing together the last row of the floor. I think it matches the rustic look of your cabin. I hope your finger is feeling better. See you in the next one.
Hi Michelle this video was really relaxing to watch what with your chilled out animals, the music and everything just slotting into place. Steve looked pretty impressed I think 👌🏻
You use that chainsaw with surgical precision 😎
Good morning 🌅, Michy , very nice job, I am not telling you what to do, it is just a suggestion, when cutting it out a square section out of your flooring or lumber?, You might find it easier now you’ve got your jigsaw going., is the drill two holes in the square intersection then cut down to the hole and then cut along the other line towards the next hole, so you can put your jigsaw blade down through the hole and then you can cut in either direction it will save you using a chisel smacking hell of it, good luck with the future, I’m taking my left hand to the hospital this week, as I have couple tundra syndrome, not sure whether that is spelt right, but you get the gist,
Stay safe keep up the great work , 💔🔪from France,
Hey Michy the floor looks great.
As soon as I saw that tar I was like “that had to be from the worm” then you immediately confirmed that…lol. Great job!
That was cool. Seeing one channel I watch (Michyygoss) reference another channel I watch (Surviving Ringworm) (both for similar but different reasons), made my evening.
Must have been Tarzan ... Had to giggle watching you stomp that floor board into place and the comment about your corn flakes 🤣😂🤣
I like the banter between you and steve in the beginning. Me and my misses do that too.
Your persistence is admiral, good job!
Hey, I got tired of never having a jigsaw blade, so I bought a pack of one hundred. I have used three of them in te eight years since I bought them. My battery powered jigsaw uses up batteries four times faster than the other tools do.
Michelle,
Great video! Thank you for continuing to share videos of Clyde; need I say more.
Cheers!
Blue Skies...
Faithfully,
James
Morning Michelle. Another day and another great job done. Cabin looks amazing!!! You look stunning also as always. Great seeing Steve and the hounds too. But Honey you will always be the main attraction! Till next week, have a great week ahead, hey! Stay safe and happy my friend. 😊❤❤😊 G
YOU ALWAYS BUILD WITH LOVE! I could live in the cabin/ fort you have built. You make my Sundays special.
The cliff cabin floor turned out awesome. Who would have thought reclaimed lumber like what you found would be the perfect rustic fit for that cabin. NICE JOB sorry you broke your finger better work on that hammer swinging
@ 13:45 I too am a fan of " Surviving Ringworm " glad to hear that you watch some like minded channels !
Michelle, Thanks for Sharing with every build the techniques and skills are just flowing quicker, Great Job see ya on the next one. p.s. we miss Clyde also.
