    • @Xero1of1
      @Xero1of1 2 месяца назад +1

      33:21 They're fine, lol. The only reason why people generally do rafters vertically and not horizontally is because of the strength to weight ratio. The thickness is what gives it strength, but the weight reduces how much it can support. So, if you can make rafters that are thick, but not very wide, you end up with more supporting force because the rafters don't have to support as much of their own weight. But considering this is just a tiny cabin, what you've got there is probably strong enough to hold about 4' of heavy snow for quite a few years... so long as they stay dry. If they get too wet, you'll start losing strength because the water will make them more pliable (aka rotting).

Grab some brake clean or starter fluid and spray it in your intake and see if it fires off. If it does then you know it’s fuel. On you motorcycle. Just make sure of the basics to start with. Fire at the plug and that the engine is getting fuel. No fire or not enough would mean that you need to check these three things in this order. 1-Spark plug, 2-Coil, and then 3-the magneto. Just in case you need to find the magneto, it is located under the flywheel pulley located under the cover on the side of the crankcase. If you have fire and that checks out OK, then you need to make sure that it's getting fuel. First, take the fuel line lose from the carberator. Oh yeah! Make sure that you've turned the fuel on. The valve for that is located under the gas tank. This should actually be the very first thing to check in the beginning. It's so simple, but an easy thing to overlook. If all that checks out, then the jets in the carberator or the float is sticking in there and probably need taken off and cleaned out. Blow air through all the little ports. I have a feeling that you may have not turned the fuel valve on under the tank. It happens a lot with the best.
    Thanks for the nice sexy ad of the Eco-Flow and the Motorcycle scene. You fix up really hot. I hope that you get your motorcycle running. I hope my advise helps. I've owned a bunch of these and still own a 1973 Yamaha 500 motocross.Good luck with everything! See you next time!

      Chances are the age of the bike, its the fuel tank which likely has sediment or rust that got to the carb, But check for spark, and then head to the carb. Gonna bet its got plugged jets, buy a small fuel filter and put it in line für the petcock, and before the carburetor, and that will prevent the fuel starve out. But then more info on what its not doing would be helpful, like when you rev it up, or it wont fire, or …..you get the idea. Good luck, I happened to own a bike shop years ago when carburetors were more of a thing.

    Make sure your fuel valve is on. If you have a kill switch make sure that is off. Kick it a few times and and if it doesn't try to start pull the plug. if it is wet with gas then you have a spark issue. If not then you have a fuel issue. Since it ran well recently it should be something simple like the fuel shutoff or maybe a wire somewhere came loose.

    Yamaha DT🎉 I had a ‘78 DT175. Very good machines. Maintenance. Maintenance. Maintenance was my key for dependability. If these ‘carb’ fueled bikes sit for to long, they will need to have gas replaced with fresh mixed fuel. Making sure you drain everything from the tank and the tanks reservoir all the way through the carburetor. Those types of carburetors can ‘gum’ up from the fuel and additive sitting for long periods of time. These carburetors, will need to be removed so that the Jets and ports can be cleaned. I would also advise, servicing the air filter, so that clean filtered air will be introduced into the carburetion mix. Also, I will advise to have extra spark plugs on hand for two stroke, or two cycle engines, on hand.
    Please. Please! Keep safe. With safety in mind. Also lead by example! I enjoy your creativity and fun ideas. I’ve built many forts. Treehouses. Platforms. It came naturally, and I used sticks. Logs. Old barn word from collapsed structures. Cast iron nails or wood dowels.
    Ideas; chain, Ratchet strap or tie down a log or milled bean to your forks of you skid steer. Using mechanical advantage. Use rigging and crane hoisting techniques. Stop risking your back. (Lift, using your stronger legs)
    What I share with you….. I learned while taking inspiration from people that cared. You… matter😊

    Hi Michelle, some things to try with the motorbike. First clean or change the spark plug, check the fuel and air filters, clean the carburetor. If you turn off the fuel line and take the fuel line off the carburetor then open the fuel line, if there is a lot of fuel flow, you know its not the fuel filter. From looking online the DT100 is a two stroke, my bet is the spark plug. Two strokes foul the spark plugs, probably could just clean the spark plug, especially between the electrodes at the tip. Also check the gap on the spark plug to spec, and also use mixed gas.

    • @timothykrause2327
      @timothykrause2327 2 месяца назад +1

      I had that exact same motorcycle when I was a kid. I’d agree, look at the plug, take it out and check it for spark, if good, dump a little gas down the hole and then give it a kick. If it runs but then stops, it’s starving for gas. Pull the gas line where it goes into the carburetor, if you have flow there, then it’s probably plugged in the main jet in the float. Sometimes you can dump gas either in the plug hole, or directly down the carburetor and start it again, and while it’s running, pull the choke and suck the obstruction through it and unblock it that way. Otherwise pull the float bowl off and remove the float and main jet, and blow compressed air through the jet hole in the carb, to unclog it that way. Before you do anything, make sure the fuel shutoff is open tho lol

    If you're aiming for a classic wooden fort, I am thinking something like a split log fence with pointy tops. If you're going for a stone fort, then crenelations along the roofline, and maybe braiding in the siding at the corners, where the planks alternate whether the end grain gets exposed.

    It is refreshing to see you go thru your thought process as you build. Some people are too worried about the criticism it can bring. This is the o ly way to learn. Unless you build something that is simple and has been done a dozen times before it's like a war. As soon as the first shot is fired or something moves the whole an is out the window.

    Again and again it´s a pleasure to watch you building your self planned "wooden artwork" ! Concerning the motor bike: always remember each step (me not knowing YOUR bike exactly): fill the tank - open the fuel tap - turn on the ignition and take care if the "emergency Stopp switch" on the right hand is ON! - put the choke lever in the right psition (half if the temperature is not cold and not hot). If you have to push on the gas lever depends from engine to engine....If you have tried already too often to kick it without effort-> take out the spark plug and clean/dry it...and repeat 😉 Have fun ! Greetings from Austria/Europe !

    Good morning 🌅, just watching 👀 you struggle with that log 🪵, very dangerous, about 20y ago, I was putting a oak wall plate on my property, I managed to lift one end, I then started to climb the ladder with the beam on my shoulder, I was about 4f off the ground, the ladder broke, luckily the beam pushed me away from wall, and I jumped out of the way, the ladder was broken virtually in two,
    So if you can strap the first end,

    While I may have used Skidsteer to lift that beam, I also may have added a couple 'steps' to the uprights to make the climb easier. At least give you a break on the way up.
    New Canadian fuel sucks. If there was any left in the carb, you may need to clean it.
    Great vid! Thanks!

    Tip for drilling thick timber, counterbore half the depth with a larger drill bit first so screw goes down half way before getting fixed in. Less effort and you can use shorter screws (win win). You will need drill tip driver extension of course! Hope this helps!
