Thank you for finally explaining your process. BTW, if you only knew the impact you have had on my life. I got a carbon spyder last Summer and have lost 53 pounds in the past year working out.
Hell yea brother, getting in shape sure makes this bowhunting thing more fun than it was when I was 100 pounds overweight and weak! Down 90 lbs in just under 2 years and have made huge strides under the bar! Cam had a lot to do with it for sure..
I picked up the other day a 2014 Hoyt Carbon Spyder 30 with a Hogg Father and a fang 3 and wrist release with all kinds of arrows and what not. I have never shot a bow in my life and have a long road ahead of me to learn and just wanted to say to you how much your videos help me. Also, had no idea what I was getting into physically. I now see what you're talking about and why you do what you do. Thanks man!
Hey Cam just would like to say thanks for being such an inspiration i have started to shoot my bow more ever since subscribing to your channel and would also like to say that sir is an awesome bow ya have there Thanks again
Thank you so much @Cameron Hanes i've been looking for a video of yours giving tips on starting out shooting since i just got my first bow and respect your opinion above others. keep it up man #RoyTough
I bought my first bow (browning micro adrenaline) at the bow rack in 2003. Growing up in Central OR, we didn't have the best shops and the bow rack is a sweet shop. I currently shoot Bear, but I think I'll go shopping for a new set up tomorrow here in Bozeman. Maybe hoyt will win me over...
Just got a Carbon Defiant Turbo. I shot it for the first time today. I am sighted in to one hundred yards shooting a 30" draw length. Any other bow I have ever hunted and shot 3D/field with I could go to 80 maximum. I can now say I can shoot a hundred yards with great accuracy, I am so stoked about this bow!
Still love watching these old videos Cam. This came out during a time in my life that was a lot simpler. Will always enjoy these videos 😊 @cameronhanes
Kinetic energy = 1/2mass multiplied by velocity squared....momentum is mass multiplied by velocity. By using a heavier arrow you increase momentum, kinetic energy only increases by a factor of 1/2. So the heavier arrow at a slower speed would do much more damage than a lighter arrow at faster speed as it would have much more momentum and perhaps less kinetic energy than a faster lighter arrow.
Hi mate I'm a massive fan😀 I was just wondering what do you like better the HOYT CARBON SPYDER ZT TURBO ? or the CARBON DEFIANT ? I would love there pros and cons. Thanks mate awesome video
Just picked up a Carbon Defiant 34 yesterday and I'm stoked! QAD dropaway rest, Spothog 3-pin sight. No stabilizer yet. ANY SUGGESTIONS FOR A GOOD STABILIZER? (hunting rig)
The reason in shooting higher draw weight and heavier arrow. Its all about kinetic energy. It's the same reason we shoot all the time. To ensure a quick clean ethical kill. As sportsman and bow hunters we owe that to the game we are taking. Sometimes things happen and our shot placement isn't the best. We may hit bone and u want to ensure the you arrow will punch though and hit the money spot. #keephammering #stingstalker
I love watching your video's. My friends aren't as into archery as I am but have shot some. The only argument we run into is why I choose to shoot a high draw weight. I shoot 75# on my carbon knight and they always tell meni don't need to shoot so high. Problem is, that is a light weight for me and as absolute heavy as my bow can handle but my friends don't understand why I want to shoot that weight. I am a hunter but not yet with a bow, so I do I shut my friends up that don't shoot 200+arrows a week up? Without being an ass? lol. They are my friends...
Wow 27" draw man Im glad to hear that. Im a shorter guy with not a huge wingspan and my 26" draw length bums me out so hearing you shoot only an inch longer draw then me makes me feel better. Will say though @ 5'5 i still put up 310 lbs and pull 70 lbs although i may even drop that a bit see if i can put arrows through each other at 40 yards lol. Im just gonna have to be happy with 260-270 fps.
Hey Cam, I know you shoot the FMJ's but like do you shoot the deep sixes? I got the regular FMJ's and they keep getting warped/bent. Have you ever had this problem. Btw thats a dope bow
HEY Cam! Since you shoot a single pin sight with the sight tapes, how do you keep them in place and not bubbling up if it gets wet while you're hunting?
Cam, reaching out to you from Kansas, just wondering, how many bows do you currently have? An how often do you add to your collection of bows? Any one particular bow that's always been a favorite?
Hey Cameron, how do you set up your bows? I honestly think you always have the perfect spec's equipped on your bows. Mind sharing so I can adjust my PSE Bow Madness 32? lol appreciate the videos brotha
+DanteDVMC4 he has someone set up and tune his bows (the bow rack) that being said it looks to be a carbon defiant 31 set at 27inch draw and 80 pounds. the sight is the hogg father, fuze blade stabilizer, what looks to be a trophy taker smack down pro drop away rest, g5 meta peep, and spot hogg wise guy release. copying his exact set up (especially draw length and poundage) would be foolish because as bow is a very individual thing. what works for some might not work for others. test out lots of things until you find what works for you
am I the only person who likes longer bows and the longest bow in the 2016 hoyt line up i believe is 37 inches. of course they go on about features they add to make a shorter bow shoot more like a longer bow but its still not quite the same
I was actually surprised, I shot a Nitrum 34 last season and my Carbon Defiant Turbo (33 ATA) feels longer at full draw than the Nitrum 34. There is something to the increasing felt ata for sure. If I hunted on the ground, I'd consider a longer ATA bow but being in a tree or ground blind, you have to be cognizant of those things.
I love longer axle to axle bows, especially for 3D and indoor target shooting. But for hunting? Nope. 99% of my hunting is in a tree stand or ground blinds. Longer ATA bows can get clumsy in those situations. I like something around 35" ATA for 3D/Target shooting, and am actually considering buying a Prime rival. The G5 bows have been peaking my interest.. but I've been faithful to Mathews for awhile.
It's so cool and nice that I live in springfield and actually just last week bought my first bow from the bow rack and that I shoot my bow at the same place joe rogan and cameron hanes get Thier bows
Hey Cam, just wanna say great job bro. You say your draw length is 27 inches just wondering what length arrow do you like to use? Thanks and "Keep Hammering"!!!
+Joann Rhamadan how many shit replies to comments are you going to make? You are blowing my mind with your senseless bigotry. Do you not have anything else better to do? The entertainment on RUclips comes from the videos and these people are expressing their entertainment. The comment section is not for your criticism of another's choice of words. Get a life man.
And for any person that wants an 80lb bow be sure the draw length is perfect, it'll damn near rip your arm off, not that ive ever made a mistake before
Hoyt makes very good, reliable and accurate bows, but for 2016 I think that the Mathews Halon is just the best bow on the market for any type of shooters. I think so because it's blazing fast and it has a super smooth draw cycle plus an 85 percent let-off.I'm not a fanboy, I am just a realist.
How would you go about target panic. I can't seem to bring my hand done when I aim at the target so I hit the end up hitting the top of it. do you know any tips to fox that?
I have recently returned to bow hunting. Technology has come a very long way. Just curious about what appears to be long then normal extension on your sight. Doesn't that make your sight appear small in your peep? And what advantage does the longer extension on your bow provide?
Jerodspc1 Honestly, I never tried the 34 nor the 30. I pull 73 lbs at a 28" draw. The draw cycle is a heavy thick smooth draw cycle and with 75 % let off the tension is there. I have recently drew back the PSE carbon air at 60 lbs and it was smooth and light, but I hated the draw cycle and back wall. I really like an agreesive cam.
Jerodspc1 I just shot the 34 today. The draw cycle is smoother, but drops in to the valley about the same as the turbo. The 34 was set around 75 and my turbo is at 73. With that being said, it was easier to start the draw cycle with the 34 and the turbo is a bit more jumpy at full draw.
+Joann Rhamadan I sense a little jealousy or maybe a secret "man crush"? Dudes a stud, Don't hate! Like momma said, if you don't have anything nice to say keep it to yourself!
Phantim3dx The defiant 30 at 80LBS is 10 lbs above IBO readings for fps. 80 lbs brings the bow up to 350 fps. Where at 70lbs it is 330 at 30 inch draw.
+Henry “Balla Fist” Theisen although hoyt released the 2016's in October its looking like even the guys who ordered the carbons right away aren't expected to get them until march. the regular aluminum defiant series you can get at any hoyt dealer right now.
Thank you for finally explaining your process. BTW, if you only knew the impact you have had on my life. I got a carbon spyder last Summer and have lost 53 pounds in the past year working out.
+Jesse Payne well done.
Awesome for you man!
+Jesse Payne Wow great job Jesse. Keep Hammering and you can do anything!
don't settle man keep going!!!
Hell yea brother, getting in shape sure makes this bowhunting thing more fun than it was when I was 100 pounds overweight and weak! Down 90 lbs in just under 2 years and have made huge strides under the bar! Cam had a lot to do with it for sure..
Bring the videos back cam!!! I’ve watched them all twice over now! Haha keep 🔨
I love how freeking positive Cameron is, he is just awesome!!! great example to live up to
I picked up the other day a 2014 Hoyt Carbon Spyder 30 with a Hogg Father and a fang 3 and wrist release with all kinds of arrows and what not. Hey Cam just would like to say thanks for being such an inspiration i have started to shoot my bow more ever since subscribing to your channel and would also like to say that sir is an awesome bow ya have there
Thanks again
Long distance shooting videos, followed by any shooting videos, are the best! Thanks!
Is it just me or does the sound of a well tuned bow being shot for the first time sound like heaven??
Cam I like your videos. Keep up the good work. Yeosah!!!
Thank you so much @Cameron Hanes i've been looking for a video of yours giving tips on starting out shooting since i just got my first bow and respect your opinion above others. keep it up man #RoyTough

Timberwolf Outdoors PSE makes the best bows for the money... and the fastest bow produced to date too.
I just bought a carbon defiant so excited to take this thing out.
That sound though. Release the arrow an hits on target. Beautiful. #keephammering
Great bow, post the turbo review when you get it if you can? I have the 80# CST and I'm holding out to see what the new Turbo does.
Man I just got my Nitrum about 2 months ago! Wish I would've waited to see what these new bows shoot like.
Awesome shooting, outstanding bow, just not affordable.
Cam is the man!
I get everything at the bowrack love it
cam love your videos, keep it up, would love to talk hunting with someone with the same passion for bowhunting as myself would love the chance!!
awesome man
Sick video
if possible I would like to ask for full specifications of the bow, and accessories
how cool to have a name like cam for an archer...thats like having sum dude who loves shooting guns named remington..
I got to shoot all the new 2016 Hoyt and love the feel of the carbon defiant turbo and 34
Show us the Turbo sir!
Yes i got the hoyt defiant becouse the pse igot gave me only problems and i got up to 60lb drow.
cam is a big fan of cam
you just taught a rank beginner how to use the release properly, by relaxing the hand....thanks.
Thinking I shoulda shot the defiant before buying another bow this year,
Hi mate I'm a massive fan😀 I was just wondering what do you like better the HOYT CARBON SPYDER ZT TURBO ? or the CARBON DEFIANT ? I would love there pros and cons. Thanks mate awesome video
i bought a pse last year and will be as good as cam somday. baby steps and losts of peractice
Just picked up a Carbon Defiant 34 yesterday and I'm stoked! QAD dropaway rest, Spothog 3-pin sight.
No stabilizer yet.
ANY SUGGESTIONS FOR A GOOD STABILIZER?
(hunting rig)
I use my middle fingre to triger because then i get my nucle to angor to my chaw and have clean release and angor.
Cameron, What do you think of the new Hoyt Powermax. Can you do a personal review on the bow.
#keephammering #stingstalker
how, when and where can I go hunting with you Cam?
Are you ever going to make to Maryland for a visit?
I shot the carbon defiant the other day next to the alpha x and that things so loud in comparison.
I love watching your video's. My friends aren't as into archery as I am but have shot some. The only argument we run into is why I choose to shoot a high draw weight. I shoot 75# on my carbon knight and they always tell meni don't need to shoot so high. It's like using a confidence bait for fishing
Best things in life are free
I'm looking at the carbon defiant turbo , which is better turbo or 34 ?
Wow 27" draw man Im glad to hear that. Im a shorter guy with not a huge wingspan and my 26" draw length bums me out so hearing you shoot only an inch longer draw then me makes me feel better. Will say though @ 5'5 i still put up 310 lbs and pull 70 lbs although i may even drop that a bit see if i can put arrows through each other at 40 yards lol. Im just gonna have to be happy with 260-270 fps.
I shoot 26" as well and 60# out of my Mission riot. I was happy as well to hear him say 27" haha.
+freemind222 dude 260-270 fps is still fast. Don't let that bum you out!! most people aren't shooting nearly as fast as they think they are
I've been in that bow shop
where do i get a sight like that one?
Hey Cam, I know you shoot the FMJ's but like do you shoot the deep sixes? I got the regular FMJ's and they keep getting warped/bent. Have you ever had this problem. Btw thats a dope bow
HEY Cam! Since you shoot a single pin sight with the sight tapes, how do you keep them in place and not bubbling up if it gets wet while you're hunting?
does anyone know what size peep sight he has on that bow
What kind of stabilizer is on there?
+TANK SHERMAN Fuse carbon blade hunter 10"
It's a Fuse Carbon Blade.
what release strap do you use
Curious of the same thing. Is this bow that much better then the nitrum turbo?
I have to buy a brand new Hoyt before September every year
Cam, reaching out to you from Kansas, just wondering, how many bows do you currently have? An how often do you add to your collection of bows? Any one particular bow that's always been a favorite?
Is that a 3 split or 2 split
I happen to Shoot an 850grain Arrow out of my 90lb recurve.
You're also the idiot that shot himself in the leg playing cowboy with a paper target lol
+Kyle Gadd dragonslayer!
+Kyle Gadd he is also Tex fucking Grebner
and?
Tex Grebner Outdoors How fast is that arrow traveling?
What sight do you use
is that a wise guy release?
What release are you using ... Trophy Ridge HXL?
Love your drive to be the best you can be ... 24x7
Brian McSweeney it is a spot Hogg wise guy release.
Hey Cameron, how do you set up your bows? I honestly think you always have the perfect spec's equipped on your bows. Mind sharing so I can adjust my PSE Bow Madness 32? lol appreciate the videos brotha
+DanteDVMC4 he has someone set up and tune his bows (the bow rack) that being said it looks to be a carbon defiant 31 set at 27inch draw and 80 pounds. the sight is the hogg father, fuze blade stabilizer, what looks to be a trophy taker smack down pro drop away rest, g5 meta peep, and spot hogg wise guy release. copying his exact set up (especially draw length and poundage) would be foolish because as bow is a very individual thing. what works for some might not work for others. test out lots of things until you find what works for you
+cole kupper your right, thanks brotha
Hoyt Carbon Defiant turbo vs Carbon Spyder turbo?
am I the only person who likes longer bows and the longest bow in the 2016 hoyt line up i believe is 37 inches. of course they go on about features they add to make a shorter bow shoot more like a longer bow but its still not quite the same
your not the only brother . some of those shorter bow's feel like a youth bow to me . I like full size bow's , they feel more real to me .
Longer axle to axle is more forgiving and thus more accurate. Most guys I know who shoot tournaments use them.

Been trying to create an account on your site, i havent found a way do to so yet, can you help a man out
Is this the bow rack in Redding?
It's so cool and nice that I live in springfield and actually just last week bought my first bow from the bow rack and that I shoot my bow at the same place joe rogan and cameron hanes get Thier bows
i am loosing poundage over time. it is about the limbs or about the string and cables?
Camo on it looks ahight. Nothing better than the Mathews lost camo though.
+Joann Rhamadan what a loser
what did you do for work before?
what type of sight do u shoot and I take it a single pin just got me hha sight been shoot muilt pin just your thought on them single or muilt
Jason Walters it is a spot Hogg Hogg father single pin sight.
ok great thanks keep up the great video and wrk got me hha ill keep hammering and shooting
What size Pep sight do you use Cam..?
Hello Cameron, what sight do you use? Spot Hogg?
Spot Hogg Hogg Father
Anyways this carbon defiant is awesome. The only thing I don't like about it, it's the price :)
And for any person that wants an 80lb bow be sure the draw length is perfect, it'll damn near rip your arm off, not that ive ever made a mistake before
Would you put this bow above the Carbon Spyder? and the Nitrum?
+Michael Muther Only a little if you have the Carbon spyder. alot if you shoot a nitrum..
+Elite Bowhunter I have looked at the Halon 6. I'm waiting for the turbo to get in stock then I will do a side by side & take one home.
Realistically , the grip is awful. I'd own the impulse first
Joann Rhamadan Best point ever! I agree with you...
How would you go about target panic. I can't seem to bring my hand done when I aim at the target so I hit the end up hitting the top of it. do you know any tips to fox that?
fix
There's lots of videos that can help u with target panic
+Dillon Rea ok thanks ill check it out
+Logan Bartlett Blind bale shooting.
+Jacob Alcorn ok I'll try that thanks for the idea
all the new bow videos 8k -12k views
cam is blitzing them all 29k lol
#keephammering
I have recently returned to bow hunting. Technology has come a very long way. Just curious about what appears to be long then normal extension on your sight. Doesn't that make your sight appear small in your peep? And what advantage does the longer extension on your bow provide?
+Jersey_91 the further your sight is from your riser, the more accurate you'll be down range. But any inconsistencies in your form will be magnified
how do you shoot a 450 spine at 80 pounds draw? isnt that out of the arrows rating?
Colin Justin weight. Not spine.
That's a nice addition to the collection. Someday I'll be able to buy a new bow ever season. But until then, it's time to kill some turkeys.
80lbs wow
Why Hoyt over the others?
Waiting for the turbo vid
Jerodspc1 I am still waiting too. However, I have one.
Takashi Tamanaha how do you like the turbo? I like the 34 better
Jerodspc1 Then again I am a speed freak, so that might not help with what you are looking for.
What do you do for a living other than being a beast at archery lol ??
Worlds gayest comment
cams always grinning like a stoner.
+Joann Rhamadan I sense a little jealousy or maybe a secret "man crush"? Dudes a stud, Don't hate! Like momma said, if you don't have anything nice to say keep it to yourself!
That's cool because I live in Winston, Oregon. I'm going bow hunting with my dad in like a week. And why do you have it set at 80 pounds?
+Damion StoneBrook you asked why he has it set at 80 pounds. Because that is exactly how much he will weigh when his own dead body is found.
Marie Ewwf lol
+Damion StoneBrook He wants to ensure a passthrough.
Bladeshade7 Oh okay thanks for telling me that.
Look at his workout videos, he could have a bow set at 150#'s and still pull it back as easy as wiping his ass
Do you know Stuart johnson
Are you doing give aways on your old bows
You will have to compete against him in real life if you wanna have a chance at winning it
what sight is this on the bow
Cam normally uses the hog father single pin. Not sure if he changed it in the last few years. I don't believe he did
26 drow 400 blk out arows for hunt im going to use gold point 400.
I shoot a carbon icon bowtech I love it
I head problem with the reles at the impact archery they sowme the best one.
Hoyt the best.
When is Hoyt going to release a 2017bow?
In the fall like they always do doucher . Did you just start shooting a bow ?
+Joann Rhamadan calm down
What stabilizer is that?
fuse carbon blade
is that the 10in carbon blade?
defiant is rated 330ibo, the turbo is 350ibo.
Phantim3dx The defiant 30 at 80LBS is 10 lbs above IBO readings for fps. 80 lbs brings the bow up to 350 fps. Where at 70lbs it is 330 at 30 inch draw.
Does Cam ever shoot Pse?
Nope. I do though.
How much does it cost as a base bow?
Around $1399.00. Then add components.
+R Barrett sweet! thank you
Can u buy this right now?
+Henry “Balla Fist” Theisen although hoyt released the 2016's in October its looking like even the guys who ordered the carbons right away aren't expected to get them until march. the regular aluminum defiant series you can get at any hoyt dealer right now.
+cole kupper Been waiting 11 weeks on my Harvest Brown Defiant turbo.. Its not only carbon bows that take tie this year..
It was 12 weeks for my not run last year. The harvest brown slows things down.
+cole kupper yeah it sure does. My Brown nitrum was 8 weeks
