    I purchased this bow after watching this video when it first got posted because I was an 18 year old soldier severely injured in Afghanistan. And I believed it would help me recover and get back out in the woods that I loved the most. This bow is amazing and it did help by using this bow my arms got stronger so I could use a wheel chair and by going out hunting my legs got better. And I remember watching this before my purchase and because of your wounded warrior t-shirt it sealed the deal because I know to get that T-shirt you’ve done something for injured vets. I dreamed of being able to come out hunting with you cam as your the reason I am able to live a nearly normal life. Where do you live in the us. I hope when I can come to America again maybe you would consider doing so ???

    Such an awesome bow Cam. I saw the spyder 30 and carbon element 2013 today both in action so cool to see them combined into one bow.

    Both of those are nice bows. I want a newer one since I have a golden eagle from walmart I got back 20 yrs ago.
    I'm trying to get back into hunting so I dug my bow out, grabbed a arrow with a field point shot it a few times & was still somewhat accurate. Kind of surprising since I never had anybody to help teach how to set a bow up, I faked it with reading directions on packages. I went hunting the other day, was kind of sad my 4 good arrows & quiver are packed up in a box buried in my connex box, so I grabbed 3 old arrows that where in my bag & headed to the woods. Didn't see nothing but I'm tracking 2 nice 8 points on camera. Hopefully I can get something for the freezer. That's really great having that bow shop there for support.

    Most archers are uneducated in archery and their confidence is in the imagination of the easily influenced archer. Accuracy and consistency is in the arrow. I have a home shop that will shame 99% of proshops. The cam design, vertical and horizontal nock travel, valley, wall, riser design and bow specs have a far greater impact on shootability than the riser material. Shooting form and draw length must be right in order to get the most out of a bow. Design, fit and function.

    • @takashi0352
      @takashi0352 7 лет назад

      halfstep67 Riser has to be engineered to absorb vibration. Carbon fiber absorbs the vibration better than aluminum. Try shooting the Hoyt defiant carbon vs. aluminum and you will feel the difference. Also in cold weather, I rather be holding a carbon bow vs aluminum.

    One thing I have learned over the years which is really commonsense. Never trust the word of someone who is sponsored by a product. Hanes is sponsored by Hoyt and gets paid to promote their product, obviously.....so be sure to test out all the bow you intend on buying and test them out thoroughly. Some archery shops will also promote a certain bow because they get discounted. I suggest you pick a handful and shoot them and go with the one that feels great. I wanted to jump on board and get a hoyt because everyone seem to be going in that direction. I shot it for two days alone with a mathews and Bowtech Realm Sr6. I was trying to talk myself into the hoyt simply because I felt like being trendy. Plus I mean my man Joe Rogan uses one :).....BUT......considering they put 5yrs into a bow before they introduce it on the market they dont do that good of a job in all aspects of the bow. This is a carbon bow...there should be absolutely no vibration from it and they are like jack hammers compared to the rest.....they spend a lot of their money in their marketing and less in their technology and it shows in their product. I simply think there is a lot of people who, like i almost did, talk themselves into a hoyt because Cam Hanes and Joe Rogan use them...trust me I almost made the same mistake. Please try all bows. I found the Bowtech Realm Sr6 blew Hoyts new bow out of the water. Dont count out the companies who you dont hear about much...APA, Bowtech etc....it just means they are putting their money into the production of the bow rather then their marketing. We are creatures of habit us humans...trend and marketing schemes always tend to draw us in. follow the heart. ;)

    Still shooting a Clearwater Pro-mag these newer bows are pretty wild. Every time I start thinking about upgrading the sticker shock can be pretty lethal. I've tried a few out and apparently I have expensive tastes.

  • @rexhouseo7010
    @rexhouseo7010 10 лет назад

    I noticed that the new carbon was significantly quieter. It also has less shock for sure. Getting 304 with that heavy of an arrow and only a 27" draw is pretty good, even shooting 80 pounds.

I got the bow down now time for me to start the working on the body. Good stuff keep up the good work and great videos you do. Thanks,Mike G.

    exactly like he said, "less hand shock", which is true. it's a smooth shooting great bow. I'm not sponsored and I'll always shoot a Hoyt and as soon as this is in my pro shop I'm buy this Shot the Demo and it's an amazing bow. target shooters are a different bow entirely. you don't need a bow that is rugged. they don't abuse the bows they baby them which is why the hunting bows are going to carbon because of weight and durability. I'll pay $1,200 for one heres my review.

    Great video Cam. That bow is quite amazing. Right now I own a Vector Turbo, and Faktor Turbo. Growing quite fond of Hoyt's Turbo lineup, and I'm liking that Carbon Spyder Turbo you have as well. As the tradition calls; you're going to have a give-away when the next best thing comes out next year. So it's either shooting or lifting. You have one year to get better cause I'm going to get that bow away from you ;)

  • @Azarlehn1
    @Azarlehn1 11 лет назад

    First off, love Hoyt, grew up on an Eclipse. Still like them to this day. Shot the 2012 and 2013 lineup from the charger to the G3 and turbo, great bows. Can't wait to shoot the '14's. My thought is this...why pay more...when I am currently shooting a 2010 monster 6.0.
    70lbs. 28" draw, 29" Axis 340's 440gn. @308-311 FPS, same setup swapped to Victory VAP V1 300's, 29" 368gn @ 348-353FPS..i can only get out to about 80 yards where i shoot, but it tunes/groups great, better than i can shoot it...

  • @BBroering

    It's in the context of how you read it. If you noticed I went down the line from the beginning of the compound bow to now. that's how it is unbelievably faster, stronger, lighter, more accurate. Even compared to an aluminum compound bow with the same exact specs (size,weight) the carbon is lighter and stronger. enough science. I had already answered you question. it's like a gun. why buy a Colt 1911 for $2,000 when a Smith and Wesson 1911 is only $900, are they not both 1911's?

    Do they both not shoot the same .45acp cartridge? Do they both have the same speeds? Sometimes it's just a matter of personal preference. Just as you may see the point in buy a carbon bow for $600 more ridiculous, the next man may think it feels better in the hand which in turn gives him more confidence to shoot better correct? That's the great thing about innovation, everyone can choose the option that best suits him.

    Jealousy is mans downfall. Instead of saying he just shoots it and is talking it up because it is who he's sponsored by. Make a video on comparing the two? Make an educated opinion of your own. compare the specs and how they all feel. Because an uneducated opinion is worthless. pick it up hold it, shoot it a bit. Moral of the story everyone has their own feel for tools. Choose the one that suits you.

    No Kool-Aid. Have you noticed not only Hoyt but now Bowtech has come out with Carbon risers. Could it be the new fad? maybe. but bows all started somewhere. Wood to fiberglass to aluminum to now carbon. They are lighter, more durable, more accurate, and unbelievably faster. like he said in a previous comment yes you can shoot a cheaper bow and kill something just the same, having the slightest advantage is all you need sometimes.

  • @MrRazorback1975
    @MrRazorback1975 11 лет назад

    Saying that "Celebrity Endorsements" are for the purpose of selling a product is not "trash talking" anyone. Thats just common sense for most people. I've owned and shot three carbon bows so I think I'm qualified to have an educated opinion. The specs on the Carbon Spyder and Faktor are almost idenitcal. My question is a simple one really, what advantage does the carbon bow offer for an additional $600? If you do not have an answer then please don't respond and attempt to derail the conversation

    • @takashi0352
      @takashi0352 7 лет назад

      MrRazorback1975 Carbon is stronger than aluminum. Absorbs vibration better than aluminum. On cold days, carbon does freeze your hand off as aluminum would do.

    • @SrtZipTop
      @SrtZipTop 8 лет назад

      Wrist triggers are awesome in my opinion, if you can really relax your hand while using one, just barely even squeeze on the trigger and it shoots, I'd say wrist triggers are more accurate. Feels more like an extension of your arm then any other release

      If it's your first speed bow then it will do that consistently, speed bows want to take off on you if you relax a little bit, also the 2015 Carbon Spyder ZT has Hoyt's new turbo and a half cam on it.

    I have owned a 2011,12, and 13 CE. Whats makes them better than other bows? I can't tell the difference from aluminum risers. I do love hearing sponsored people who more than likely get their gear at a reduced price or free, telling people they think this product is worth the extra money. Thats kinda funny, but seriously, lets hear what makes a carbon bow better. Its lighter and warm to the touch, is there anything else? I have yet to see any top target shooter using a carbon bow. Why is that?

    I know a man who to this day still hunts with an old bear golden eagle. can he kill some monsters? Yes and still does to this day. Like Cam has said it's not what you shoot but how you shoot and hunt. It's confidence. The old man's comfortable with that bow so he shoots it. is this bow for everyone no. just like shooting a gun what fits you fits you. but why trash talk "Celebrities" because you're jealous you don't have the opportunities they have worked hard to earn?

    How does he get 80 lb draw weight when bows usually only go to 70 or 75

    • @BigBlake008
      @BigBlake008 9 лет назад +1

      Most manufacturers give you the option to have 80 pound limbs put on it. However, typically people only use 80 pound bows on bigger and more dangerous game in Africa and Australia (Asiatic water buffalo).

      A lot of bows you can special order different limbs to get you higher draw weight

    Hey Cam, what kind of sights do you use on your bow. It looks like it was sticking out there a little further than mine, I've heard that the further you can make it between your sights the more the accuracy. With that said, A big thanks for your videos and keep them coming.

    Can you get your broad heads and field points to shoot the same

    • @zolt6658
      @zolt6658 9 лет назад

      Yes, just make sure that your broadhead and field point are the same weight

    • @jordan19862000
      @jordan19862000 9 лет назад

      +jbc45lc This is debatable. Broadheads have more drag and typically hit a bit lower
