I'm an old guy that still checks in on drumline stuff. One thing that I'm always happy to see are the amount of bad ass females that are doing drumline. Snare drummers.... tenors.... bass.... it's all cool!!! Back when I played it was a sausage fest. Nothing but dudes. There were women in the front ensemble. They just didn't seem that interested in the drumline. Again.... it's cool.
We can stop being coy and just say it. Evans and pearl is the perfect combo. Especially with this book and this talent. Unmatched. Hoping they earn the gold
According to our cymbal tech rhythm x wanted to see our show cause they thought we had a cool cymbal feature (I don’t know how much of this was truthful) but it didn’t matter cause we didn’t make it to finals lmao
I’ve been critical of many top lines’ writing styles over the last decade within my own social group in reference to the rather flippant usage of rim shots. Refreshing to see a more restricted usage of them currently trending within the writing community. They have so much power to emphasize and articulate phrases when used sparingly or texturally. That gets lost when you hear 10 shots or more every minute of a show.
A little random by Andrew Markworth (one of X's design guys) is writing/designing our entire percussion part for our show this year! Only problem is I'm graduating and I'm so jealous I won't get to play any of it. Love you guys and keep destroying the content!!!
The only way for that to happen is for it to stop being a a non-profit organization. Focus less on education and more on profit and entertainment. Get rid of the age out rule. Start local tours only.
@@brothaNblue yeah the only way to keep it how it is now is to pay. Getting paid to drum is what college and the nfl is for. Now I would absolutely love it to be cheaper. Maybe with the introduction of sponsorships, fundraisers, donors. But if you just work hard, getting the money won’t be *that* hard.

I don’t really notice the gender of the performers unless people point it out.
X’s use of flam vocabulary is *very* refreshing.
Definitely wish we had 4k lot vids back when I marched!
For real!
Me: *watching myself in VHS quality like... 😭

Here's my rebuttal. Remo and Mapex.
Nothing better than well tuned Pearls man

That was nice the ping shots were nice
That closer quad break is so musical
They are most likely Sabian Quiet Tone drumset practice cymbals or at least prototypes made from that design.
Im interested in those magnets they were talking about
About the "mesh" cymbals: They have many small holes in them which not only give them a lighter weight, but a lighter sound
Same. I like pushing forward instead of the guts

Sick stuff.
I have a suspicion mystique is gonna sneak up on everyone tho.
Definitely possible. I like what they’re doing this year.
Yeah for sure. Idk man the energy mcm is delivering reminds me of 2011/12 guess we’ll see! 🔥
Have you reacted to the lines you guys have played in, yet? That would be meta as hell
@J Bav I believe that they have reacted to most if not all at this point.
We did the outdoor lines, Blue Stars 2010, Bluecoats 2012, and Crown 2009. We haven’t done any of the X lines we marched.
you guys should react to ConneXus 2023, DrumlineAV has a closeup lot video on their channel 🤟
Damn I wanna say y'all are homers but they really are that clean, we will see how this shakes out
I mean we definitely are homers, lol. But we try not to let that cause over reaction one way or the other.
What years did y’all march X?
10,11,12 - Evan
11,12 - Mike

United has some crazy stuff too ! Would you guys do a reaction to them soon?
Also gotta agree X is killing it right now 🔥

Indoor marching sucks. I wish DCI was a paying career like the nfl and it went on year around.
